Thank you for your comment and for using the technique. Can not take create for technique, but found not many videos at the time showcased this technique and this was a chance to show my take on making them.
Thank you for showing the reverse vs non reverse at 6:02 because yesterday I used a drill because by hand was too hard and it still was a hot mess lol. My cords wound up loosening more.
Hi David. Thanks for watching. I have found these very simple to make and have already prevented me from losing gear when kayak fishing. The temp of water needs to be around 200 - 210 F.
These hold up to a season no worries. I have some of the original ones I made around the same time as this video 4 years ago that still appear ok. For more expensive gear I would replace more regular. Thanks for watching.
OlympusHeavyCavalry There is no rating on this cord, but I have tested it to 30 kg and at this pressure you start to notice stretch in 2mm cord. Not sure what it breaking strain is due to I did not test it. Thanks for interest in my post.
I made them to protect from loosing gear out of kayak or if it tips. If you where trolling and your rod went over it may then depend on drag setting I would think. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@ashleylyons71 I actually (unintentional) didn't notice until Shannon pointed this out... watching it again, it's all I hear... lol. Great video... I just made myself a few with 2.4mm trimmer line. I could bungee jump an adult bronzie with one of these!
Yes do need to be mindful of that. If hold it to tight would be an issue. Best practise would be to wear a leather glove. Thanks for feedback and watching.
You could use it you wanted to. I have found it not rquired. May be over crimpes to stop them from scratching or marking gear. Thanks for your comment.
“Actual” sick idea!
Uncordless drill. 😂
I bought some nice tools that I don't want to lose because I probably can't buy replacements.
Great idea. Thanks
Great video. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and the comment.
I can't tell you how many lanyards I've made using your technique. Thank you!

What a terrific use of the drill. Outstanding video!
Great idea of using the drill to curl around the pole, but extra cool in using it to reverse the spiral. I will use that.

Did your cords end up loose after the reverse coil? If done right it should tighten. Thanks for watching.
You are the man!!!!!!!!!!! This is genius!!!!!!!!!!!! I subscribed just because of this brother!!! Great job!
Thanks for the video. Always learning something new.
genius, I've been wanting to make my own zingers for fly gear, brilliant!
best lanyard video out there. Thank you!!
I agree, the drill trick is a life saver.
Great Video... and it took an Aussie to do it! Good ONYA Mate!
Thank you for the really great video. I'm lookkng forward to trying it out.
Genius! 👍
Best I’ve seen so far 👍
Thanks for watching and your kind words.

Awesome
These are the best ones I've seen! - Does this line hold up in the sun for a whole fishing season?

Does the Whipper Snipper cord have a Safe Work Load (SWL) rating?

@@ashleylyons71 No problem :-)
👍👍👍👍
I'm curious as to why you reverse the spiral direction?
Jim Freeman It makes the coils tighter. You don't have to, but just makes the lanyard look neater and return to its closed length.
Very cool....actually!
Hi Ashley, what size crimps do you use on the 1.6mm cord
I guess that's ok for a kayak but if your trolling those will not keep you gear aboard!
I made them to protect from loosing gear out of kayak or if it tips. If you where trolling and your rod went over it may then depend on drag setting I would think. Thanks for watching and commenting.
One criticism, Maybe dont say actual so much but a great video any how!
Thanks Shannon for the feedback, The more videos you make and you watch them back the better you get and not realise what you say.

basically is actually basic, basically or maybe basically × 100
guillermo adame huh?????
In the time it takes you to make one... I can just go to dollar tree and buy a handful of dog leashes.
DONE!
Some of us find enjoyment in doing DIY projects. To each their own.
How did you not burn you finger tips right off rolling the wire up like that 🤣

@@ashleylyons71 I always use a glove
But ya that's skill for sure
Use a terry cloth, like when spooling braid to prevent the cord rash
What no heat shrink!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to work on your mic can't hear you
Thanks for your feedback William.
