The Princess beds are second to none! I’m sleeping so well on board! And I would second the use of the Princess transfer on embarkation day. But personally, I like being in Southampton the night before. No issues with the highway or traffic. And your taxi can be ordered ahead via the front desk at your hotel.
We did the Regal Princess in April. It was a 28 day repositioning from Ft. Lauderdale to Southampton and the British Isles. It was a fabulous time and the entertainment was the very best of any of our 10 cruises. Staff was first rate!
As always, great advice. The motorway from LHR to Southampton is notorious for delays 👍

Hello Allison very useful information we always travel down from London by train from Waterloo Station and stay at a hotel the night before the Holiday Inn is a good choice the hotel orders a cab to take you to ypur ship we have done it this way lots of time. Have a great time.
We got 21 cans of Coke for our mini-bar setup on the Sapphire Princess (32 day cruise). We didn't even finish them all, so we asked our room steward if we could give them to him, and he said yes! Good info on the transfer from London to Southampton.
Thank you! That is what I got on the Emerald Princess last fall for a seven day cruise. I always give my extra to the room steward as well.
That dinner tune is much better than 5:00
We have taken an early morning train then used a cab to get to the port.

We stayed at Southampton overnight and had problems getting a taxi to get us to the cruise port the next morning because the local demand was so high. Finally got one and got there!
Hi Allison and Gordon, Have a fantastic cruise...warm or cool outside, it's still a cruise!! 😀 I've appreciated your Southampton vlogs as my BFF, her husband, and his cousins are going on a Baltic cruise with Sky Princess in just under 6 weeks...this is great info for them. My friend is familiar with getting around London since her family is from the area but not the cruise port area.

Yes Alison you are correct with the Mini bar set up, we sailed from Sydney to San Fransico 27days trip so 1 mini bar set up for the 27 days. We then did 3 days San Fran to Vancouver and because it was considered another leg you got another mini bar set up for that 3 days.

I noticed on the Royal Princess in May they had crew members going around with the beverage carts as well. Onthat same cruise we had a fellow passenger mention with the shotglasses that the beverage was included in the package however they did get charged for the souveneir shotglass it came in, I think they said that charge was around $2.

They replaced our minibar items 1:1. One liquor for 1 soft drink, etc.
But blue lane will go faster if all in APP is in order

Our Matri’d told us casual dinning crab shack chef table and wine dinners are currently only through dine line or dining rooms to book. He felt (and stressed his personal thought only) since these where never on a set day it would be difficult to put on APP.
I see that they don’t sell the Princess beds anymore. Darn!
Hi Allison. Can you clarify what does the Medallion do? whether it is mandatory to have it? and how things would work without it ?
The Medallion works like a cruise card that you find at on other cruise lines. It acts as a key card to open your stateroom door. It has a small chip on it with a number referencing you in the onboard database; there is NO personal data on the Medallion.
It is mandatory to have medallion to board the ship. You also need state issued identification in many ports. Medallion is fabulous when working. They run out of battery occasionally and you visit guest services to get a new one created without any fancy customization.
At Heath Terminal 3 what time does the Princess transfer desk open?

Just at the baggage claim area, outside of International Arrivals.
Hi Allison and Gordon, could you tell me exactly where you go once you leave the Hilton to get the Princess shuttle to the pier? Also there is a button on your phone that says dining where you can also make speciality dining reservations or change your main dining reservations.
The princess representatives are usually at baggage claim for domestic or just outside the arrival areas flier international.
Sometimes when you call the dining reservations number they do not ever answer.
Did you say you stayed at a hotel the night before embarkation day? If so what would you recommend. Doing this same cruise April 2025.
When our EzAir flight to Heathrow was delayed, the Princess transfer did not wait for us. We had called to let them know about the delay. We had to wait 30 minutes for
a private car, but Princess reimbursed us. We boarded just before time for sailing.
Very similar situation with EZAir & lack of the previously booked transfer in Rome. Princess did reimburse us also, but it took several daily trips to guest services to get it resolved.
In the current world, if you possibly can, Always fly in at least one day early before any cruise. The reliability of air travel doesn't seem to be there now.

Our cruise is in Sep. I am not able to set up our time in the main dining room on the app or website. How do I go about setting my dining time for each night?
You can start to make dinner reservations for all cruises starting June 17
Do you know if in replacing the minibar set up, you can request a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling cider?
Depends on if they offer that normally onboard or not.
