I knew who Freddie was and I saw Klein give a talk once (he had no outline, just went on stage and rambled for 45 minutes, it was really awkward) and I remember when Losch got appointed because he had an accent and was so young at the time. Kind of new Henschel was prez but didn't know a thing about him. They must've got jealous of the Mormon prophets getting recognition, I dunno. I do know that in our day to day lives we never talked about the governing body or even said those words. Some things seem better in the org today and other things really don't. My mom is 80 and very much JW, has a Bible study with some nice lady and she still mentions stuff about the kingdom hall or all the recent changes. The whole JW experience is insane. I just saw a recent Steven Hassan podcast and he had a further JW elder on and Steve said he's embarrassed that he didn't even mention JWs in his famous book from 1988 but he didn't know much about them. Of course he got deluged with correspondence from exjws and since he's done research and even he says the org has really changed into a real following of men and not faith or conscience.

I remember attending that same annual meeting and thinking that something was really off. First, the speakers were all members of the Governing Body. Not one director of the Society was on the platform at Jersey City-and this was supposed to be the annual meeting of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania! Second, the release of the 2013 edition of the “New World Translation” was a big letdown. (Granted, I had been tipped off several months earlier by my circuit servant that another revised edition was being prepared. Of course, I had anticipated it at the district assembly, the theme of which lent itself to such. But, that wasn’t the reason for the letdown.) It was disappointing because I could see the this revised edition was actually a step backward. That was made even worse by the fact that the members of the Governing Body spent the remainder of the session glad handing themselves over further infantilizing and “dumbing down” Jehovah’s witnesses. (Note the bragging about the reduced word count.) As I was sitting inside the London Assembly Hall (in Ohio) listening to the program, I couldn’t help but think: “Is this all there is? Is this why they wanted all of us to attend this year’s annual meeting?” I understand that the Society wanted to recreate the atmosphere inside Yankee Stadium when Knorr issued the “New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scriptures” during the 1950 international assembly. However, this 2013 annual meeting introduced the practice of turning the Governing Body into an Ashtoreth pole for Jehovah’s witnesses to worship and adulate. This disgusting practice has continued with “Jw Broadcasting”, infiltrating themselves into the summer assemblies and now the “Updates”. The bitter taste of the 2013 annual meeting stayed with me. I was a member from 1974-1988, & 2003-2006 I had already seen how the public schools gradually dumbed down each new generation of students. Some years later, when I saw the internal video about masterbation (for bethelites), I was appalled. To put such material into a video is unforgivable to me. It is a private matter that should be between an elder & the bethelite/ publisher, same as it has always been! Putting the matter into a video for thousands of incoming bethel servants cheapens the matter & is a brutal disrespect to its seriousness. It was done by the GB member who begins this video. He is an abomination, and not just for that one act. I dont know his name That was the LAST STRAW for me. Thats when I made the choice to leave the the local congregation & try one somewhere else. (It happens I didnt belong there) I havent given up on JW's as a people. But I no longer have any belief in the GB at all. They have lost all legitimacy

I quit in 97 and i started following JW stuff again 5 or 6 years ago and i was stunned at how much they talked about the governing body. I found out that only they are the faithful slave now and i just had to laugh. How do people not see this is all such ridiculous nonsense? I did it by reading books, going to the library. Now all you need is a few websites or comprehensive videos.

That’s the whole point of this compilation. The Society claims to be a Bible-based organization, yet it alone-not the library of books it claims to follow-sets the policy for Jehovah’s witnesses. Ironically, the only text I saw briefly on the screen was a cutout of Matthew 24:45 (NW) concerning “the faithful and discreet slave”-and even that appeared in the context of misapplying it to their “precious” Governing Body.

14:21 “When the GB was formed ...” - well that contradicts the idea that there has always been a Governing Body. We all know that’s not true. If a JW ever speaks to me, I ask then who their mediator is with God. Unsurprisingly, very few know their own doctrine that it’s the GB unless you are of the anointed. If they say Jesus in response, I ask them if they are of the anointed (not met one yet). Lastly, I ask them to read John 14:6. That will always ends the conversation but I hope it plants a seed.

Back in the day I couldn't name any members of the Governing Body. I had no idea who they were or how many members composed the Governing Body. Today, they are worshipped as the cult leaders they are.

There is so much about the GB . Not much about God or His Son Jesus Christ. At a Convention the GB eas mentioned 53 times and Jehovah 3 times . At a Judicial hearing the GB was mentioned 34 times and Jesus 3 times

I quit in 97 and i started following JW stuff again 5 or 6 years ago and i was stunned at how much they talked about the governing body. I found out that only they are the faithful slave now and i just had to laugh. How do people not see this is all such ridiculous nonsense? I did it by reading books, going to the library. Now all you need is a few websites or comprehensive videos.

If a JW ever speaks to me, I ask then who their mediator is with God. Unsurprisingly, very few know their own doctrine that it’s the GB unless you are of the anointed. If they say Jesus in response, I ask them if they are of the anointed (not met one yet). Lastly, I ask them to read John 14:6. That will always ends the conversation but I hope it plants a seed.

Back in the day I couldn't name any members of the Governing Body. I had no idea who they were or how many members composed the Governing Body. Today, they are worshipped as the cult leaders they are.
A few times it was said “Jehovah loves you, the Governing Body loves you” ….. what about Jesus? I think the Watchtower Bible and Tract is trying to take the place of Jesus! They want the Governing Body to be the mediator, between mankind and God, rather than Jesus… please think about this. If this is true this has huge implications!
