- How To Make 6 Red Roses In a Hand-tied Bouquet
In this video we look at how to make a bouquet featuring six red roses. Sometimes this can look a bit plain, but we have added gorgeous green trachelium and zingy purple limonium to create a more interesting background, and a touch of setaria grasses add even more interest. This would make the perfect gift whatever time of year it is - you don’t have to wait for an anniversary or valentines!

I have gotten so much better at my hand ties because a Videos like this. I practice every chance I get. I did three Thanksgiving hand pies, and they turned out wonderful, and I was able to feed and flowers where they were needed just following the stems exactly as you said.

You make things look so much easier that I always end up going to my local florist, but alas 😢. I think I better stick to watch it only. But then again, what’s the point of watching and not trying it on your own. What kind of verity of roses are those John? Looks bright, velvety and has big heads.
Libra hello - don’t be put off, the more hands on you are the better you will become. And the fun is in the making really. I can’t remember the name if this rose. I think I bought it off our Flying Dutchman van, so just saw them and got them. A good variety just now are the red Naomi - they have a good size head and last well.

How much would you charge for that bouquet?
April Williams I can’t give you an exact price because it would be different where you are. Many factors affect price such as the time of year, location, your choice of wholesaler, your flower mark up and the way you might cost making a bouquet - so labour can vary a good bit.
Another factor is your customers - you ,igniting be in an affluent area or may be in an area that is cost conscious. Roughly though I would say around £40.
How much would you charge for that?
Stephanie Key that is a difficult question to answer, because it really depends on where you are and the circumstances. So if you are in a value area then it will be priced lower than a high end area. Wholesale prices, competitor prices, how you mark up flowers up and how you charge for wrap and Labour - it all can vary. I would suggest this 6 red roses could be from £30 - £50 as a guide. Hope that helps

It will depend on the time of year, your wholesaler, which variety of rose you used, how you price your stems and how you price your making up - as well as the area you are in. Is it affluent or less so? I would give an indication of around £45

I love these videos but I really don't see the need for all of the plastic. I think we should be doing all we can in all aspects of life to remove this from our products...especially where the purpose served is only aesthetic.Hope plastic free will be an adopted policy to enhance what are already great videos!
Josh Hampson I think our product suppliers are aware of this desire - for consumers and florists. Some progress has been made, so hopefully it will keep moving forward.
This is something I do not understand with UK florists. Always this plastic they put around and sometimes within the flowers also the cardboard boxes, I dislike it a lot. . I grew up in Germany where flowers are bought more so than in the UK, you always take when visiting someone. They do not use all this plastic, but nice coloured paper and if you do insist on a covering of cellophane there is a charge for it. Susan Dalton
