Ta heaps..yummo. Dark Ale made it for me. Mattress recover..OMG, what you guys been up too? Phew! The collar comment had me worried, thinking was a white one for Magnus, but now understand and think is a beaut addition for No.4 peanut in gallivanting around the Kimberley. Well done guys.
It's kind of humorous how many products for boats, there are on the market, that requires poking holes in the hull and the owners willingly do so. Another of you enjoyable videos. Thanks.
..good to see things are going well gown under, a good sleeping mattress and some great brews are a must for relaxing after a hard days work..lol...keep safe ..
I know of no cruising boat here in NE US who doesn't have a tube of Tef Gel aboard - go aussie. PS I know of no other YT channel with more resilient and genuine folks than you, and Nutshell seems completely un-traumatized by explosions also. Good on you all.
Hi Ramsey. So far we love it. We can both stand on the edge and she remains stable. We need to add another ‘layer’ of fenders to protect Nutshell’s hull. W.
Subbed and voted just because I wish I was the both of you enjoying life like you are. Well done and Blessings of a wonderful future together. Water looks beautiful. Your home brew looks amazing. My wife would absolutely love it. ;D Really like the design of the Kapton Boat Collar. I'm thinking to build my own version for my 18ft Aluminum V hull.
Liked your answer at the end of the video. Another good answer is that the afternoon breezes in the Kimberly always blow in on the port side which would require crabbing in that direction to maintain a straight course. Thus, the flotation needs to be a little higher on that side. Perfect planning indeed!
Hi Sandra. We’re cruising around the Whitsundays at the moment. We plan on heading to the Kimberley next year after we’ve fixed everything and added a few creature comforts. W.
We hope to see you in Perth when you have been through the Kimberly, can you travel from Queensland to NT yet? Love watching you two, it's a highlight of the week when a Nutty film pops up!
Hi Roger. Our state borders are still closed at the moment. We plan on heading to the Kimberley next year now. We’ve got a lot of work to do on Nutshell due to the explosion. We keep finding melted things in cupboards! Thanks for your lovely comment, it brightened our day. W.
Great work. Love the DiY work along with a good beer :-) Just keep away from them snakes lol & always good fun watching you both & picking up ideas & tips.
cool, there i was watching episode #72 when you replied to a comment i made about ep.# 52. so i'm reading your reply when this episode pops up :-)) i had gotten bored last week waiting for this episode, so i went back and watched all your NB episodes and the 1st few of your S/V Nutshell :-)
Hi Iain. Thanks for watching our vlogs. We go back now and then to watch older episodes. It’s the reason we created them in the first place actually, as a visual diary. W.
Great video guys. Nice job on the depth sounder cover Wendy it looks perfect. Magnus I am still thinking about your explanation for the bumper height difference, sounds a bit iffy to me 🤔. Mind you I have been around along time so have heard all the excuses before. ROTFL Thanks for sharing. Stay safe stay well. regards from the UK
You guys have a new mate from NZ. What a great idea! I built myself a Goat Island Skiff (sail boat) and i'm a bit scared of her. (I'm 76) Wonder how the collars would go on my boat? That dark beer looks delicious, so might have one. Take care guys.
Hi Greg. We are still piecing her back together. Still lots to do. The galley is going to be major as we probably have to pull it all apart to re-laminate the benchtop. Fun times ahead! W.
Hi Patrick. We love the collars and can’t recommend them enough. They make a small tinny into a much larger one. They are very stable. We can both stand on the side and the tinny doesn’t tip. Also make towing more stable. W.
Well now That is something I've never seen on a skiff before! It certainly ruins the "lines" of the boat, but if it keeps you afloat then good. Pray that the weather didn't get you kids.
Hi Edward. The weather passed and headed out to Fiji and Tonga. Peanut IV may not look as pretty now but it’s a price we’ve paid for safety and crocodile proofing! W.
Thank you for your vids I really enjoy the info and humour..I was wondering are you going to tow this masterful creation of a tinnie..it seems a bit big to put on davits..In my limited experience if you are towing a tinnie they always seem to overtake you...some suggest a bridle using PVC to stop this but then it can interfere with your windvane...if you are using one...I sailed across the gulf west to east from Gove a few years ago and got hammered..green water over the boat...I thought my days had ended...but I Made it to TI I want to sail back across the gulf to Gove and then to Darwin through the hole in the wall..in 2021..then to the West Coast and the Kimberly hopefully we might be able to touch base...kindest regard Pete
Hi M & W looks like everything is coming together. Would love to sample your version of an OP. It certainly looks the part. All good over here, you stay safe and well.
Thanks Dick. Great to here that you are well. We are all well here too. It’s all slowly coming together. Peanut IV is amazing now. Such a treat to have a large, stable dinghy after Peanut I! W.
great to see you guys again, got a little bit of ozzy sunshine to lift the gloom here from lockdown did you have it over there, lockdown that is....steve
Gee, no comments for two years. I was researching the Kapten boat collar and so up came your vid, I was recently a subscriber to your channel but only a couple of days ago. How is the collar going after a couple of years? I bought a 3.6 m tinny off FB market place this week, made by Haines Hunter, no less, back in the ‘90’s I think. Anyway, keen to see if the collar is worth fitting for safety reasons.
Nutty looks spiffy! And with the new safevest for the aluminium bathtub you soon will bee fitted, have you have her on land seens the accident? Beer looks drinkable! Fare Winds! Barbro Sweden
Hi Barbro. We haven’t had her out of the water since the explosion. We plan on hauling her out on our way north to check everything before we head off to the remote Kimberley. W.
I missed the Facebook post, but I would have said in the box was a beer thermometer for the second glass of the first beer that scored 11 out of 10 on the Magnusometer.
Hey guys...just wondering whether the the Kapten Boat Collars met with your expectations and would you recommend this modification. I'm currently looking at installing g on my 420 Busta to improve rough water handling going to the islands off Lucinda and Mission Beach...
Wondering which episodes dealt with repairing the boat after the explosion? How much time was needed....seemed like a long term effort! Good episode, Thanks, Andrew
You had the thumb pretty close to the mallet. My father's point always was: if you don't want to hit your thumb with the hammer, take the hammer in both hands. P.S. Was solid advice to me.
We will do a video explaining it. In the meantime we believe it was degreaser used to clean the engine. The fumes built up and ignited when Magnus put the stove on to make a cup of tea. W.
Hi. We plan on testing out the collar to the max. Once we get a more powerful engine we’ll be able to see how Peanut truly handles. We’ll share our observations along the way. W.
Hope you guys are doing well.Magnus a bit of kit that I would think you would find very handy is an anchor chain weight, this brings your safety factor right up there,I made a bodgey one and use it but I have a link for you to get the idea, stay safe.ua-cam.com/video/ZPskVtbIrfg/v-deo.html.

It’s a great product. Nutshell is holding up well. She’s a solid boat and we love her. Thank you. W.
Hi Guys Those flotation collars are a brilliant safety device also built in fenders to boot .

100% agree. Wish they had a distributor in the USA.
Great to see y'all!! MISSED YA. Coming along. Looking forward to the Kimberleys
Hi Colin. We’re sooo looking forward to the Kimberley too. In the meantime we are enjoying exploring our own backyard, the Whitsunday islands. W.
Wendy nailed it, FOOD in a glass. That boat collar is a great idea, a couple of 100kg blokes moving around in a tiny can be tricky.
Tinny
We’ve had two blokes on the edge and it stayed stable. It’s amazing! W.

Couldn’t agree more. Getting away from it all. W.

Thanks Rob. W.
Great reason to have port side higher, yea, lol. Wonderful to see you guys again
Thank you. W.

Life in a Nutshell now that’s not too bad either! I bet it’s not too busy either atm? Have fun!
Great video thank for sharing and keep safe both 👍
Hi Garry. Thanks for watching. W.
Wow early treat for this week...
That beer made me just salivate...
And we need a new mattress too..
The beer was delicious. Thanks for watching. W.
Super cool...Mr Magnus can do anything!!😊👍....Mrs Wendys not to bad either😊👍

How is the interior going after the big bang or did I miss something. Like the way you do things, explaining the procedure, watch and learn. Stay safe

As a bonus you won't knock the boat around coming alongside.
Airlie's new microbrewery ?
The collar definitely protects Nutshell. We’ll probably add another ‘layer’ of fenders for protection in rougher weather. W.
Or getting back home from a session there.

Could please tell me the cost of the floatations, and can it be installed on fiberglass boat? Thanks
The cost depends on the size of the boat and yes it can be fitted to a fibreglass boat.
Hey guys...just wondering whether the the Kapten Boat Collars met with your expectations and would you recommend this modification. I'm currently looking at installing g on my 420 Busta to improve rough water handling going to the islands off Lucinda and Mission Beach...
The boat collars have exceeded our expectations. Peanut is very stable. We thoroughly recommend them. W.

We are still in the process of repairing her. We are just about to tackle the new galley top and engine change.

Did you ever explain what caused the boat explosion Magnus? It would be interesting to know, if it is not classified.
We will do a video explaining it. In the meantime we believe it was degreaser used to clean the engine. The fumes built up and ignited when Magnus put the stove on to make a cup of tea. W.
So if it's a male name, in the N. Hemi sphere; It's a Heacane? just wondering...
I’m not sure how it works.
presume you are going to tow it behind nutshell. I know prob stupid question!!

Why not leave the graphics on the boat!!!!!!
