The movie made $103 million and Melanie did get an Oscar nomination, so these predictions were pretty solid. Odd to see the audio out of sync on this video.
Its funny because the interviewer (Bobbie Wygant I presume) is very emblematic of how professional women were expected to dress and present themselves in the 80's which is the very trope that Working Girl was playing against.
2:03 She’s smart. Melanie was tortured with alcoholism during this period in her life. Regardless (or maybe BECAUSE of that), she managed to be smart, mesmerizing, humane, and very poignant.
She's a good actress-----but so goofy. Sitting there with her feet on the furniture-----I don't know whether to think she's rude, or just completely spaced out.
Say whatever you like, i find her acting appalling. Even in her old age, seeing her acting on Hawaii Five-O makes me cringe so much. She pours copious amounts of unnecessary flirting and coyness into her acting, insomuch that she ruins her lines completely. God, it was excruciating watching her get into her role.
No questions about this wonderful movie!

Sei bellissima e bravissima e poi sei sposata col il super affascinante e bravissimo don.
You can tell what Bobbie said at 3:20 hurt Melanie.

She seems so sad. I know she was struggling with cocaine addiction at this time. Loved her in this movie, though!

This interview lady was so shady boots. But she made nice towards to end

This interview is terrible, there's so many questions about the part she never asked. ...what do you want for Christmas?? ...pathetic
