That's an easy one to answer. In most bands the singer thinks he is God which he may well be, unfortunately there is also a guitarist who also thinks that he is God. They battle it out between them to be the star of the show while the drummer and bass player just stand at the back observing two massive egos go head to head in the knowledge that without them both the guitarist and singer would be flat on their arses.

Instinctually my brother dropped down to assist Stevie in retrieving his scattered charts and a large black man grabbed my brother under the arm pit and brought him back up saying, "Let the brother get his things!" Stevie said, "Thank you" to my brother for wanting to help, but just as though he was fully sighted, he retrieved every last chart without even feeling around for them. It was like he heard where each sheet landed and had mapped them out in his head. Even back when this man was "Little Stevie Wonder" at age 12, his music gave me goosebumps.
He can see. That's how he caught that mic stand. It's also why he was looking straight at the fret board in this video. It's all a con, he took over Ray Charles job.
Stevie Wonder is The God Of All Music ! Nathan East is a legend in his own right !
So glad I happened upon this performance tks for sharing.
Nice to think that this moment made 9 million people happy!
Nathan East is a fabulous musician.
Nathan East and Paul Gilbert are the most happy when they play guitar.
Marco Minnemann on drums. Super happy too when playing 😊😊😊
I really have to agree with you, on that one.
Don't forget Eric Gales, he's enjoying every lick he makes
Tommy Emmanuel?
Guitar?? Please
Two of the coolest cats around. Both in a league of their own in what they do .
Not only is this man extremely happy when he plays, he doesn't even have to look at the neck... wow, what a player! Good on you Nathan!
every time i see nat with ec on tour that smile he has playing its still there
John Robinson, the Iowa precision groove machine and one of the most wanted drummers in history, once said Nathan East and Leland Sklar are his favourite bass players.
JR is a BAMF!
I love how his arrangement had the horn section changing key every couple of bars! 👍😀
I hate the sound of it. Just stick with the original key.
If this was 8 months ago Stevie was just ahead of the curve with the mask.
Stevie has been fooling us all along, he can see into the future.
Maybe he just didn't wanna catch NAMMthrax lol
This was in January 2020, COVID appeared in China in December 2019, I think he was just extra cautious already.
More people need to find out about Nathan East, he puts out so much fantastic stuff.
How amazing to have the man himself show up!. Good work!
Stevie was ahead of the rest of the world with his face mask! I remember seeing this at the time. Love Nathan's smile and that gorgeous six string bass!
I just realized that. Had to double check the date to make sure I wasn't imaging it.
Everyone’s a bass player....til Nathan East walks in the room...
He is a complete force. It's wonderful to listen to.
Woolly Detroit yes , Nathan has a connectivity with the bass at different level...like they are whole and one
@@amerant1973 he was amazing with CLapton in 86 97 91 til today :)
phenix returns two musical legends !
@@amerant1973 It's called "a shitload of practice"not magic
Stevie Wonder ahead of his time as usual with that mask.
Otie Jason bro chill g
@Otie Jason yes, chill indeed.
great statement indeed !!
@Michael Wong word! wwg1wga
@Michael Wong You mean for example that there wouldnt be so much infected people if they wont test so much? Thats what Trump said. And what about over 500.000 corona deads meanwhile? Let alone South America who doesnt know where to bury them all
He certainly is a great bass player ... cheers for posting
what a beautiful smile he truly loves what he is doing and is he doing it sooooo welll
Stevie is saying "I expect royalties from this performance"
“you better be paying your PRS license Nathan!”
That’s what I thought😆
Looks like they claimed ad revenue on my video, so yes someone is getting paid lol! Well deserved imo and I’m glad to help. I had no clue this was going to exceed a couple thousands views, much less nearly a million. Crazy!
@@FinalResonanceTV So does that mean you earn nothing at all from this video or they are simply taking a cut cos I can see ads playing on the video?
Overdrive Music 🤣🤣🤣
I went to high school with Nathan and remember him in the jazz band. Even then we were saying damn, the dude can play!
Holy shit ! Stevie already was wearing the mask, he has to be psychic.
Sight impaired always develop other strong senses to compensate.
@Mike Stanton a mask? a mask keeps it away?
are you for real?? LOL
I think Stevie can see A LOT of things coming ;)
Covid came into USA on Jan 15th. Same day as Pelosi's impeachment and the punishing trade deal with China started.
k w nobody said anything BV about masks until April though
@@kw4690 Pelosi wasn't impeached. You talk a lot of nonsense.
Kind of an inspiring video. Pretty much my favorite bass player of all time, running into Stevie Wonder...
I was in shock and lucky enough to be filming
Also after it was all over Nathan being the class act he is, he asked me if I could airdrop my footage to him. I was like are you kidding? Of course! Later he contacted me personally on FB and thanked me again!
This is the best thing that I have seen all day!
If Stevie began singing, those 12 seats would have filled fast.
. . . but Stevie was too busy Virtue-Signalling.
You can hear him singing along a little bit but he can't sing that song anymore. It's too hard at his age.
@@RedArrow73 Yup 👍
Honestly have felt for a long time Nathan is commercially horribly underrated, the guy is freaking amazing. But the good news is the music industry does not underrate him, he is very successful and loved and admired so there is that!
Stevie was wearing a mask before quarantine hit. He can see the future lol.
Wow I have become so accustom to seeing people in masks I didn’t even notice he was wearing one! Very interesting, I wonder what that was about
First case in U.S. was January 21st. The day after this video was posted!
Also why he caught that mic on stage
If I am not mistaken...At that time he was protecting himself before or after his kidney transplant.
YES i was going to comment this before i saw yours. He knew something!
One of the best bass players of all time and the coolest! Why is it, the bass player is always, the coolest dude in the band???
And the drummer is the craziest...
thats often very true!
Being the guy that gets to walk around with Stevie would be such a chill job.
I think it would be stressful but still fun.
Wow. Stevie was a man ahead of his time. In 2020 still :)
