Jesus I feel old... I was doing that Clearwater Beach Saturday night ride heading the other way into Tampa like over 2 decades ago, like back in the mid 90's. There used to only be a handfull of sportbikes at Clearwater Beach back then, and I mean like 5 to 10 maybe on a good night. Some nights there was only 3 or 4 of us and we all knew eachother at the beach. That was everyone riding in those days on sportbikes, prior to the roundabout when a draw bridge was raised for every sailboat across the bayou from the Scientology cult building. After a late afternoon early night hanging out at the beach parking lot, we used to head to Ibor City. We'd stop at BuddyByRite and regroup, before we head over the Cosway going to Ibors 7th ave. Back in the days when extacy was legal, they even tested it before you went into a club, and girls used to flash everyone on the strip walking 7th ave. I used to ride like every single weekend from 1994 through to about 2010, so I was there pretty much always there guaranteed. Later on I began doing the Sunday morning rides through Pasco into Hernando County's twistie roads, so I went to bed early on Saturdays, but before that it was midnight sportbike psycho all night. Now I live near Ocala in the National Forest and I head to Daytona, but I've been meaning to head back to the Bay Area for nostalgic reasons, and why not?. Besides its only just over 2 hrs away. Hey whats with the Grom riders now a days man? LOL 😁 we used to race up and down 275 and I4, Howard Franklin, Gandy, with the cops chopper was always chasin us. So those Groms look fun... but they also look dangerously slow, which would panic me the whole time riding, knowing the cops pretty much got me... WTF what do you just pull over and take the ticket for popin wheelies?
Hey man I love your vids I got a 2012 ninja 250 a month or so ago and I'll be turning 16 soon so I can start riding it to school once I get my permit and start motovlogs again I'm so excited because I've never been able to ride it where I want around town and things only on the private road beside my house the fastest I've got it up to was 60 I know it's not alot but it felt so awesome feeling my 250s powerband kick in I know it may not be alot of power but it puts a smile on my face!
yah, it takes anywhere from 3 to 6 months to really get bored of the 250 power and you will want more. I would say start saving now so you can have a bigger bike as soon as you can, even an older 600cc bike in good shape!
i know this was a while ago but do yall still do rides like this? im in winter haven, halfway between Tampa and Orlando, wanting to do some group rides like this. looks like a freaking blast and i just snagged my first grom about a month ago.
