Steve M. No better person to describe a car. The new owner will have a video of Steve M. Describing their new car. What an amazing shop to buy a car from HighOctane classics.
The GOAT never disappoints! Steve, you are the best at combining brilliant facts with the best content. Your knowledge is outstanding! It's great to see you getting better and better every day!
Sure there is, they’re called turbos and superchargers. There’s 4 cylinder Hondas driving around these days that would put all these muscle cars to shame on a drag strip. Old v8s just sound better 👍
Beautiful car! clarification - sport slats and spoilers were not optional for the Mach I in 1969, only the Boss 302. Customer could order them over the counter and have the dealer install them as many people did. Super Track Pack is more of a MOPAR term, I think Steve meant Drag Pack. Love those old magazines!
Correct, 1969 model year, with VIN for the win: 9 for 1969 model year, T for Metuchen, NJ assembly, 02 for Mustang fastback, R for 428 CID V8 with four-barrel, ram air induction, Cobra Jet, aka "Never Since Mr. Ed Has a Horse Spoken This Clearly", and the rest is the production sequence. The Metuchen NJ plant was also called Edison Assembly and closed in 2004. What many may or may not know is that Ford used the Q-Jet on some 429 CID V8 (although this is a 428 CID V8) engines, proving how good of a carburetor it really is. All Big 3 car companies (and others) used it. We got the tag, we can brag: 63C for Mustang Mach 1 Fastback, B(5) for Maroon exterior paint, 3A for Black interior trim, 06C for Thursday March 6, 1969 production, 22 for Charlotte, NC sales district, W for 4.30:1 rear axle ratio, locking, and 6 for four speed manual transmission, close ratio, with 2.32 first gear. Yup, when you have the Marti (report), you can have a party. The Marti Report is the gold standard of Ford certification just like the Pontiac Historical Services report from Pontiac. All Ford vehicles should have it to show provenance. English Motor Company is possibly Crescent Ford at that same location as shown on the Marti Report.
Two days in a row when the cars make you think it's 1969. What an absolute mint condition example. Congratulations to the new owner! Thank you for the great walk through High Octane Classics, Super Shane, and Mr Magnante ~ Chuck
Thanks Steve! Excellent video featuring an exceptional car built for business! Lately I’ve watched a number of AI-generated videos that call just about everything from the 60s and 70s a muscle car. I’ve tried to be pretty consistent with my comments regarding the proper definition of a muscle car vs pony car vs full sized car vs grocery getting station wagon with a boat towing big block. That definition from reading articles in practically every car mag in the 80s and early 90s that included authors such as “Steve Mags.” But I appreciate how you point out that a car such as the featured street warrior survivor could “potentially” be a muscle car. I’d rather listen you than engage in pointless debates with AI. Anyway, I wish you a Happy Thanks Giving and continued recovery.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍 : Professor Steve 🍎📓📝📐🎓 good afternoon ; a buddy of my had one , sad to say the dummy took out a city light lamp ! Nice to see that one is still around ! Video very informative & interesting thanks for all your work ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍 ( My buddy he was ok after 8 months in the hospital ) !
A friend of my father had one of these. I've wanted one ever since. Sadly they have become so expensive that I probably won't ever have it. They BEST Mustang ever in my opinion! Thank you Steve for this walk around.
The "tomahawk" you described is known as the "hatchet" in the FoMoCo world. But everything else is spot on. I had a 1969 Mach I SCJ and wish I had never got rid of it...😭
In 1969 my dad bought a car from a ford dealer and the salesman picked us up in a brand new mach 1 I had to ride in the back but wish this ride in this awesome car would never end for this 11 yr. old boy then we had to ride home in a 68 4 dr. galaixe he bought darn it I wanted that mustang dad!!
Loved the presentation of this car, probably because i own one that is exactly like it except for the color and have for 55 years. Yep an original owner here. Plan on having it driven right behind the hearse on the way to the cemetery.
I have a 69 Mach 1 SCode that I purchased in 2019 from the original owner who was a female and in 1968 she ordered it with a four speed and non power steering. AM/FM, fold down rear seat and tach with power disc brakes black jade. The dealer was her local dealer which was Hayward Ford in Hayward CA.
Hey Steve- you're a class act! I live in MA. How can I get in touch with you to get input on purchasing a muscle cars. I respect your opinion & advice, and would like to connect to purchase a car. How can I contact you? Leo
A truck engine in a medium sized car. They steer like a supermarket trolley. I have driven a 68 390 [and the tall deck 428 is even heavier] a few times and it simply does NOT handle. Even a Cleveland is too heavy for those cars. My favourite looking Mustang but I would never want a big block. A friend has a 7 litre [4 speed] 66 Galaxie 428 and that is better as the car is big enough to carry the lump. Still a very heavy engine though. I have driven a 302 66 Galaxie and it pointed better but the engine struggled dragging around the weight. Those Badday tyres are useless. No grip and square shoulder make those cars drive like crap. Put some decent radials on it which notwithstanding all the weight will transform the car. 4 30 gears??With a truck engine? Makes no sense at all. Even for drag racing the power of those things stock would be faster with 3.25 or 3 50 [3.55]on the drag strip. Normal use 3.00 or taller would have it more economical and far quieter.

Super sweet, beautiful automobile Keep on that healing train Steve!!!!
Thank you Steve!👍
The GOAT never disappoints! Steve, you are the best at combining brilliant facts with the best content. Your knowledge is outstanding! It's great to see you getting better and better every day!
Great video, Steve, but you forgot to mention the ultra rare drag pack option on the 428 super cobra jet
There is no replacement for displacement. Thanks Steve.
Sure there is, they’re called turbos and superchargers. There’s 4 cylinder Hondas driving around these days that would put all these muscle cars to shame on a drag strip. Old v8s just sound better 👍
Drag pac is the best
That's a high octane vehicle. Thanks Steve, you look and sound great.
Not many don't lust after this car. Well presented Steve
That car is perfect, and I want it 😍!
Beautiful restoration! Looks better than new. Thanks Steve. Have a great weekend! 🙏🏼

As usual, great walk around. And, I wish you a full recovery.
Love listening to your knowledge and presentations Steve. So glad you are still with us.
The last few muscle cars you’ve done videos on have been some of the very best.

Beautiful car and restoration. I’m so glad they kept the hood flat black. Great job describing the car Steve. Great to see your progress

Steve! This is one of the few Mustang body styles that I like
Stunning Mustang Steve, but, it's sold already wow.-lolAwesome.
Wow - that interior is .. just MAGICAL !
Thank you,Steve. Mustangs Rock.😎🇺🇸
Steve thanks for the walk around, the 69 Mach 1 SCJ shaker 4 speed drag pack is my favorite Mustang.
Loved the presentation of this car, probably because i own one that is exactly like it except for the color and have for 55 years. Yep an original owner here. Plan on having it driven right behind the hearse on the way to the cemetery.
Thank you Steve! Awesome car!
Steve is the Man !!!
Another great, fact filled review, Steve, excellent job as always! What a gorgeous Mustang!
Thank you. Sir !!!
Beautiful car Steve.
Thanks Steve Well done
Car is Stunning!
Thanks Steve, great review (as always)
Thank you Steve
Thanks! Steve 🚗
They have beautiful cars.
High Octane should let you post these videos on your channel.
👍very nice!

Nice, Steve! The new owner needs to add power steering to really enjoy it. These nose- heavy cars are a bear to turn without it.
Interesting fact! 69 sports roof/ fastback could be ordered with a white or black vinyl top. My dad has one. It is on the original build sheet.
I had a green one just like this in the 1970's
My mustang those side scoops were functional ducts with hoses down to the brakes
Very refreshing to see a Mach 1 without a spoiler & louvers, I much prefer these without them.
69 Mach 1's didn't come with them - which a lot of people don't realize so this car is correct.
I hope the new owner, buys a HQ fuel regulator.
Apparently sold

It's already sold. No price shown.
i’m a little light, how good is credit in this joint?
Love a “factory restoration” but I think I’d have did the smog pump delete if it were my car.
😎💪🏁
The low HP rating was to keep insurance premiums low…
Already sold, LOL.
FORD WAS THE WORSE ON JUST 2 BARREL ENGINES
69 way better than 71
