Which runner are you? 1, 2, or 3?
This feels very reassuring in some way. I just graduated university in graphic design a few months ago and i’m currently building my website/portfolio, but i have no idea where to actually send anything once i’m done with it. I feel really drained mentally and I find it difficult to actually start. Your videos are really great at making me feel less alone, thank you for all of your content!
I’m so glad you find my videos helpful!! I wish you the best of luck in your career! ❤️
I’m 24 and recently started researching illustration and I really have found most of your videos very informative and helpful. One thing I’ve really taken away is finding an illustration style for a portfolio can really make or break a career. It’s really inspired me to start illustrating my own books to find my style and also use them as experience to get contracts. Not going to lie you might see me join the boot camp later😂🙏❤️
I think working on your own projects is a fabulous idea to find your style and practice your picture book skills! I always say there’s no better way to show clients you can do the thing than by DOING THE THING. What kind of story would you like to illustrate? 🙂
@@ArtBusinesswithNess I have two ideas currently one would be an informative book on the life cycle of a frog with a bit of “magic” the second would be the perspective of a kid whose scared of their brother snacking in the middle of the night😂😂😂
@@rosebud8878 Ohhh both of these ideas seems very fun, unique and charming! I think you have a knack for this and will become a great author-illustrator :) You should try pitching your books to a literary agent as well (you can always self-publish them, but you never know who might be interested!)
@@ArtBusinesswithNess thank you! That’s a great idea! I’ll develop them more then work on pitching them! Even if they don’t get published any critiques would help
haven't even watched all yet but - I like your different thumbnail style for this video!
Thank you Hannah!
Thank you for this Ness! ❤ I'm 26 year old artist trying to figure out things
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the class!
Dang. I am too late to join. Just having seen this video September 19. Only 17 days late. I look forward to hearing from you next year.
I'm so sorry you missed it, that's unfortunate :( I'll definitely accept more students next year!
❤
OMG *insta hits like!* I dun even need to watch it to knowwwwww =D
Haha thank you hun! Enjoy the class 💗
hey ness, i'm considering joining the mentorship. you mention assignments, are these tasks you set for us to do?
I have created exercises and workbooks to help bootcampers make important decisions or complete steps in their careers. For example, in month 1, there are guiding questions and exercises to help you figure out which market and style suit you best 🙂 These are not obligatory to do, just helpful if you are into it.
Thank you for the clarification ❤️ despite recently graduating with a degree in illustration I still feel in need of support at this early start of my career, I think I will be joining! 😊
@@ebsulem I feel you! There's very little business info in art school - after I graduated, I also had no clue where to start!
4 and 5. I really want to know how to get an LLC, about taxes, etc.
That's very smart! When I first started, I made an appointment with a local tax specialist to ask all my questions. I just paid for an hour and it was SO worth it. I file my own taxes, but getting those questions answered was really important to do it right. In the US, getting a LLC is actually quite easy, you'd be surprised! So don't be intimidated :) You can do it!
@@ArtBusinesswithNess thank you, love! I want this so badly!
I'd like to sign up but I only see the $75 in USD on the website?
That’s right, the program is paid monthly at $75 per month for a year. You only have to pay $75 to sign up.
Is it still available?
Unfortunately we closed the doors last Sunday!
From an exterior point of view, it's hard to believe that you're earning more than 100,000$ a year. Having some explainations would certainly help your trustworthiness.
At this time I earn about $60,000 with art (licensing deals, Etsy shop and Spoonflower) and about $45,000 teaching (UA-cam ad revenue, sponsorships and my online courses).
Wow, thank you so much for all this information and taking your time to explain the illustration industry point by point 🩷
You’re very welcome, I hope it helped!
