Congrats on a successful low-spend in April! I like the approach you’re taking next month to see how intuitive you can be with budgeting - look forward to seeing how it all goes ✨
Thank you, defs something to be proud of. Yes agreed, it’s definitely new for me. I’ve been tracking religiously for a while so should be a fun test. Hope you have a great start to May!! 💕
I can’t believe it’s time for the May reset already! Your hair looks so good btw Gabby! And no worries about the mid month check in :) Have an amazing May!!
I know!! Where did the time go. My late April mid-month check in made me feel like I blinked and it was May! Thank you! I tried a new look 💁🏻♀️ And I appreciate the understanding around no mid-month! 🙏🏽 hope you have a fantastic May as well!
Great video Gabby! I loved the clip of your kitty in the intro - he's so cute! 💕 It's really nice that you budget a donation each month. 😊 It's very inspiring!
Aw thank you!! Isn’t he the cutest? I’m obsessed with him 😅 yeah, it was a goal of mine this year to donate more especially after looking at how little I did last year! Thanks for your comment 💕
Hey! Just discovered your channel. Have only watched 4 mins of your video so far but I’ve already decided that your channel is great! 😊 My husband and I are saving for our first home, so I definitely need this advice. Thanks! Have a wonderful day! Alice (from Wellington, New Zealand 🇳🇿)
Hey Alice!! Thank you so much for your kind comment 💕 so excited to have you here. That's an exciting financial goal! Best wishes to you both on your journey. PS I love New Zealand! I would love to go back some day
Omg when you said North Van I was so happy! I’ve been hoping to find a Canadian Finance Girly on youtube for months 😄💞 & I live in North Van! Loved your video & instantly subscribed!
Hi! I love your videos :) I had a quick question. I donate because it is a religious thing (or set up easily by my church), but I was wondering what got you into donating? Every finance youtuber I watch does not donate. I think it is awesome to donate regularly!
Hi Alice! Thank you!! Great question! I actually started donating more often in 2024, before that I would try to do it whenever a good cause came up that inspired me to help. But at the end of 2023 when I reviewed the percent I donated compared to spent on frivolous stuff I felt I could definately donate more. So I started making it a monthly budget item and have been trying to keep up with it every month ever since :)
hi! been loving your content, so glad to have stumbled upon your videos. i bought your money spreadsheet and am loving it (also a big credit card user). i’m still learning the spreadsheet, but how do you track when you take out of your sinking funds?
Hi Megan!! Thank you so much for your support. I hope you love the spreadsheet! This is something I want to update in the future, so that you can select a sinking fund in the “money in” “money out” drop downs. But for now what I do is I made an income category called “Sinking Funds” and then I count the income in the expense tracker, after that I go to the sinking funds and subtract off the income amount from the “Balance in Account” column. You can do this by clicking into the formula, add a - and then go to the month sheet you need and select the cell that the income $ amount is in. It will automatically add it to the formula. Note that it will prompt you with a warning when you edit the cell, you just have to say okay!
Hi Christine! I don’t make $13k a month, I wish!! Most of my income this month was from my tax return 😁 I usually make between $5k-$6k between my engineering job and my side hustles
Hi!! Yes, I didn’t mention that in this months budget! But correct. I spend on my credit cards to take advantage of points, and my budget is based off last months spending. So this month I was paying off March’s expenses!
No not a silly question!! These are based on take home pay, I always budget based on what actually hits my account. My Etsy income however is gross and I will need to pay tax on it later
@@GabbyPeterson17 Thank you for your response! This is super impressive even with the tax return offset this month. Would 401k investments be included here then? Asking since usually that is never given on the take home pay portion since it;s taken out before you get your check. Love your channel btw
@@ArdillaINC hi! Sorry for the late reply. And thank you, I try to invest as much as I can. I don’t have any 401k match at work so I get paid my full salary minus taxes obviously and it is my responsibility to invest for my retirement. So all of my investments are shown in my monthly budgets 🫶🏼😊
No worries at all! It is all in CAD. Even when I buy something in USD or some other currency I will add it into my budget based on what I’m charged in CAD on my card.
🎉Congratulations on getting monetized! I really wanted that for you...YAY! 🎉
Yay!! Thank you so much 😊 I know you helped me out so much so I really appreciate it 💕
Hey Gabby! Loved the intro clips, music and overall vibes to kick off this video. Every second you spent editing it was well worth it 😊

What job do you have that pays 13k a month? 😮
Hi Christine! I don’t make $13k a month, I wish!! Most of my income this month was from my tax return 😁 I usually make between $5k-$6k between my engineering job and my side hustles
Hmm you income doesn’t match your expenses, savings and cc payment. Are your expenses all paid for with credit? That would explain the discrepancy

Silly question but are these percentages based on gross or take home ?
