    Welcome to Oklahoma, I am actually an Okie and I gotta say us Okies are extremely nice yes, most of us are armed but only for protection. I am certain the reason why people are reluctant to talk to anyone on camera is because of the family and how much control they have had over them. My heart hurts for these two families. Grandma played dirty. I doubt any judge would place children back into a home where molestation took place. Previous reports have indicated Grandma was going to lose custody. That's why Veronica was murdered. Jillian was collateral damage. Grandma & her henchmen are ruthless & without empathy of any kind.

    • @rosemaryprice5494
      @rosemaryprice5494 3 місяці тому

      Don't believe the children were abused. Granny used/lied to keep the Mother from having her children. Granny wanted to train the children to grow up as "God's misfit's"...residents there were afraid of Granny. Granny's own Son was threatened by Granny.

    It's wrong to judge a community or region by the crimes of a few who live there. Crime happens anywhere. The judge said it well -- people don't have murderer or rapist tattooed on their foreheads. How is anyone to know ahead of time?

    • @catlyn777
      @catlyn777 3 місяці тому

      Calling themselves “God’s Misfits” or Sovereign Citizens” and claiming they don’t believe laws apply to them could have been a big clue that they did have a group of dangerous extremists among them. Calling themselves “Anti-government” is not common nor should it be downplayed. It’s completely unacceptable. People do start to think they can do anything they want when they believe that load of crap. Like murdering two women.

    I live in the Midwest on a farm and you just described it perfectly for how a crime rocks us to our core. Right after high school almost 30 years ago 2 kids I went to school with and was friends with killed two people and robbed a bank. It totally threw everyone for a loop as we all knew both the victims and the defendants. One of them just committed su$$$de at Florence Prison in Colorado at couple years ago and the other is at Terre Haute in Indiana now. It really shakes a small rural community for years to come.

    12:09 Thank you so much for covering this case. I can't express how much it means to have news on this case. This case hits at our hearts here so close to home, and it also is triggering for survivors of domestic violence from all walks of life. Many of us have never seen justice in our own lives, and I, myself want to watch this case as justice unfolds.
    So much love for Veronica and Jilian's families and for the neighbors and friends of the perpetrators who are living in shock and dismay. This can truly happen anywhere. We must learn to talk to one another and know what is happening around us, and if we hear someone spouting hatred or stupid and unjust thoughts, it is our responsibility to take action. Don't sit back and wait to see what happens. Take action. It may save lives.

      @michele21auntiem That is a long time to wait for Justice. It's 33 years for me. There are days that I think that I would like to take Justice into my own hands, sort of like Betty Broderick did. I think I got that name right. Or the woman who shot and killed the man who raped and killed her 7 year old daughter. I think I would be happy in jail knowing that my perpetrator has finally paid. When stories of women come out that didn't survive, I think, I survived. I made it. That's what counts. I'm here.

    Child custody issues r brutal. In 2005, my sister and my mother tried to take custody of MY granddaughter away from MY daughter, my granddaughter was just shy of 3 yo. It was horrible. My sister had her for two months. I should have had custody of her if anyone other than my daughter had her, bc she had lived with/us for most of her life. But, my sister and mother said i would not “protect” my granddaughter from my daughter… which is stupid. My granddaughter did not need to be protected from her. But, I would have abided by the rules of the court. My mother was really the one who orchestrated the whole thing. My granddaughter ended up going to my granddaughter ‘s father. He had her for a month and a half until we gave him $1500 to get her back. Him taking the money wasn’t as bad as it sounds.
    It was one of the worst experiences of our lives. My daughter did have a lot of problems, but she didn’t deserve to have her daughter taken from her. My daughter ended up taking off when her daughter was ten and her daughter’s father ended up getting permanent custody of her. My daughter died in a car accident in 2020. She had problems, she lived on the street much of the last 7 years of her life. My daughter was a good person, she just had problems. I still have a relationship w/my sister, and my mother has dementia. But, sometimes I wonder how I could forgive them. I decided that they did it out of attachment for my granddaughter. They loved her, they just didn’t get it.

    I want to think that the authorities don't want to close this case until they have every bit of what they need on these people and to be sure they have all the players in this awful crime. It is not like a one hour episode of crime tv. Everyone assumed the authorities weren't doing anything in the beginning but, by keeping things relatively quiet, they have done a lot. Don't forget, the teenage girl needs protection and who knows who could still be out there working for granny and her gang!

    Every town can be deceptive, however I think in this case I think all the players were very loved, and fooled a lot of people. After the 1st attempt, and threatened judge.. there should've absolutely been more protection for Veronica.

      Coras husband has a relative whose running for sheriff, it was his truck they used. The truck Cora told her 16 years old daughter to clean up of evidence. So, we have a judge, a sheriff, and a lot of people involved. The land they buried the bodies belongs to another friend.

    Asking your good friend and business partner if they murdered any one recently, and then claiming to be totally surprised and unaware of your good friends involvement with the cults conspiracy to commit a double murder raises red flags surely...

    All this is in reference to the comments made starting at 18:35 about the 5th suspect and specifically at 19:30
    Let me preface this with: I am from a small town and have various experiences with the justice system and law enforcement. And that there is alot of aspects and dynamics to what I'm going to mention and nothing is absolute. What I'm describing may not apply in this instance, but it is to give you an idea of how the system works in small rural communities. Again to clarify this is not specifically about this case and this may not apply here what so ever.
    It is possible that the the 5th man/suspect was not arrested and had been involved. It all depends on the situation and is at the police and DA or prosecutor's discretion. Not everything is by the book or technically legal. It is not uncommon for things to happen "off the books". But that is usually bc there is not a lot of eyes on the cases and there are fewer people to object or raise any kind of questions about the legality and even fewer people in a position to raise actionable objection in such a case. However, undoubtedly, there are alot of eyes on this case. Also people in these rural areas don't always know their rights or the legalities and procedures involved, but they do know that those rights and legalities aren't guaranteed in these communities. It is understood, for the most part, that the law does what the law wants to do. And this may or may not apply in this instance, it does matter who you are and who you know. It is naive to think there has never been brutal crimes go unpunished and buried because of who the offender was, a sheriff's or a judge's son for instance. And on the flip side who the victim may be, a prostitute, drug addict, or thief, for example, That is changing with the world and the people being more connected and more informed with the internet and what not, but it's still very much part of these communities.
    While in general, this system, this way of life was born out of good intentions and out of necessity, like making due with what was available (resources, education, training, people, ect) it's easy to imagine how the balance could be broken or shifted in the wrong way and how corruption can become deep seated from many generations prior. How good or innocent people could become entangled, engulfed, and lost in this system with no recourse or path to true justice or vindication. Not that this applies to this situation what so ever but maybe some insight for people that have not seen the workings inside a small rural community courthouse and sheriffs office.
