I think that Kiryu stills has many things to show us , I think this is a great opportunity to show a wiser Kiryu and we may see more personal things about him because now he is like a new person and he does not have the relationship of father/daughter with Haruka so this may be a chance to see a more private story ( like Yakuza 0 ) Just My oppinion tough
Hope there's some more exploration between Kiryu and Haruka. Like she knows he's out there but can't come back sorta deal. The way he had to leave clearly weighs on him.
I suspect the theme of this game & for Y8 would be breaking the leash that holds you back for Ichi it would be the death of his brother & father figure and for Kiryu the government that's controlling him and I suspect it would be Ichi that finally motivates him to break that leash
I bought in 2018 the ps4 for yakuza 6 and now in 2023 I will buy the ps5 for like a dragon gaiden thats how much I love Kiryu Kazuma! But before that like a dragon Ishin, what a good time for kiryu fans 😎
If u think back to the near end of yakuza 6 when they were on the boat heading to rescue Haruto , kiryu tells hirose that there’s something he hasn’t told them that wasn’t making any sense & ask him how the saio triad were linked to onomichi. Then hirose states that chairman Kurusu and Big Lo’s dad , previous leader of the saio triads, were connected dating back to world war 2 an estimated 70 years ago. Then he says they went separate ways and connected again 30 years later and the thing bringing them back together was the whole heihaizi human trafficking ordeal. Then nagumo says something ab the secret of onomichi and then Matsunaga says he has somewhat of an ideas of what may be going on behind scenes. Then says that he’s heard about karusu having connections with a “fixer” who “controls all of Japan behind the scenes”. Then yuta states the name of this “fixer” the name being “Minoru Daidoji”. They also say that every scandal after the times of war were pinned on him and that he’s “basically an old fart that nobody likes”. If my theory is right then this brief context was pretty much like an Easter egg they threw in to hint where the storyline was heading after the game ended. Im almost 1000% sure that the daidoji from this trailer is the exact same one being mentioned in the conversation above from yakuza 6. And the way they gave emphasis on the power held by daidoji saying he runs all of Japan behind the scenes and now we see kiryu here in the trailer with a new “code name” and having a brief struggle forgetting his past life because of his family, etc … just all adds up to perfectly if you ask me. I’m on to something here🧐🤔
God damn RGG studios. We are EATING GOOD as Yakuza fans. I can't wait for these new titles. I hope Kenzan and Dead Souls make a comeback eventually haha
So glad he’s back. Song of Life wasn’t the ending Kiryu deserved imo. Gameplay wise It didn’t live up to it either. SUPER hype for all 3 new games coming. Time to play RGG 7!
And to think Kiryu has finally have his rest. Turns out, restlessness always found him first… I’m super curious to see how this goes! I wonder if this will be a shorter one shot or a lengthy one like the previous Yakuza Games.
I wonder if this game will have Kiryus style switching. He had it in 7 and it'd be cool to see an explanation of how and/or why he decided to relearn the styles.
I'm so glad we're getting another story just for Kiryu. As much as I love Yakuza 6, it's ending never sat right with me. I'm hoping that this game and Like A Dragon 8 can improve it for me. Either way, I'm very excited to play this and hope we get a real release date soon.
I mean in the second thing was mainly originally they wanted to end the Kiryu Saga before moving somewhere else ( even though you'll become even though he came briefly 6 as well the upcoming 8) and this will probably explain why he came been doing in between games ended up to eight
What feels even more wrong is that how despite everything he's given up in Y6 he still ended up as - pardon me - a lapdog of the Fixers'/deep state's. Like how they let him out in Y7 not to stop Aoki's descent into madness, but just to bar the latter from usurping political power from the old guards. Probably he has more dirty work lined up for him in this title. Still super stoked about the game though - probably they'll explain how he ended up as the dude in 8, presumably (and hopefully) no longer under the shackles of those guys.
Glad to see the taxi driver from 5 finally get the recognition he deserves

I think that Kiryu stills has many things to show us , I think this is a great opportunity to show a wiser Kiryu and we may see more personal things about him because now he is like a new person and he does not have the relationship of father/daughter with Haruka so this may be a chance to see a more private story ( like Yakuza 0 ) Just My oppinion tough
RGG straight up had the greatest 2 days of content I've ever seen a gaming company have, the announcements have been absolutely nuts
Hope there's some more exploration between Kiryu and Haruka. Like she knows he's out there but can't come back sorta deal. The way he had to leave clearly weighs on him.
This is after Yakuza 6 where Kiryu retired. Before he became a security agent in 7.
LETS GOOOOOO!!!!! I cannot be more happy to see this!!! thank you thank you
I suspect the theme of this game & for Y8 would be breaking the leash that holds you back for Ichi it would be the death of his brother & father figure and for Kiryu the government that's controlling him and I suspect it would be Ichi that finally motivates him to break that leash
Kiryu is "Everytime I think I'm out they pull me back in!" personified.
This is so ominously badass. I'm getting John Wick vibes. Just when he thinks he's retired...
THANK YOU RGG
Lost Judgement was a perfect game but i'm so happy to have a return of Kiryu in an action title. ;___;
I bought in 2018 the ps4 for yakuza 6 and now in 2023 I will buy the ps5 for like a dragon gaiden thats how much I love Kiryu Kazuma!
But before that like a dragon Ishin, what a good time for kiryu fans 😎
I've always wanted to know ever since Yakuza 6, how Kyriu is doing after the events. Now we get to see what he's been doing.
Yakuza 7 did show us something related to what he's been doing, but didn't go into full detail
@@ezequiel2000 yup
So if I'm not mistaken, this game will set 2 years after Yakuza 6 and 1 year before Like a Dragon, interesting.
So it's an interquel
I’m on to something here🧐🤔
Since it's Kiryu, I hope the original combat returns
God damn RGG studios. We are EATING GOOD as Yakuza fans.
I can't wait for these new titles. I hope Kenzan and Dead Souls make a comeback eventually haha
Joryu: Fine. What's the job this time?
Mysterious man: [Can you tell me how to get to the station?]
Receive You And Enlighten You
If they announce anything else I might have a heart attack. Truly what a time to be alive
Hell yeah! These next months are going to be killer waiting for 2023 to come around for all these!
I don't think kiyru's story will ever end really
Ohhhh hell yeah. The dragon of dojima returns!
They just can't leave my man alone, can't they?
Really hyped for this. Can't wait 😉
Joryu looks like a promising protagonist, I feel like him and Taichi Suzuki would get along well.
So glad he’s back. Song of Life wasn’t the ending Kiryu deserved imo. Gameplay wise It didn’t live up to it either. SUPER hype for all 3 new games coming. Time to play RGG 7!
And to think Kiryu has finally have his rest.
Turns out, restlessness always found him first…
I’m super curious to see how this goes!
I wonder if this will be a shorter one shot or a lengthy one like the previous Yakuza Games.
no this is Joji Kiryu, hence Joryu
They said it’ll be slightly shorter than a normal RGG title.
@@jaypostromboli-jpgamertv-457 thank god it'll probably be cheaper too
Yeah, RGG started it'll be around the same size as Lost Judgement: The Kaito Files
Three games are coming and all three have Kiryu I'm so excited, and will be published in 2 years. Super. :)
Kiryu forever!!! He's irreplaceable.
I woke up today to all these announcements and Judgment on Steam. What a great day.
I can't believe it 3 new games!?!?! The best thing i heard in a long time what amazing news this!😢❤️🙌🙌
Sega you have nothing but all my respect
The one and only.
This Joryu guy looks a lot like Ishin, can’t wait to know more about him
I can't wait!!!
Hype!!! He’s clearly bored now that he’s “retired/hiding”. Lol Gotta keep busy somehow. Haha Very excited to play!
Maybe it will explain Kiryu's new hairstyle
I wonder if this game will have Kiryus style switching. He had it in 7 and it'd be cool to see an explanation of how and/or why he decided to relearn the styles.
Skipped 7, wasn't really my thing, maybe get someday.
But i'm hyped for this, hope this guy has a cool backstory.
I wouldn't mind having a yakuza game until the very end of my days. Keep 'm comin'!
키류는 언제봐도 멋있다.
KIRYU IS BACK BABY!!! LETS FINISH THE FIGHT LIKE IT HAS TO BE! Kakate Koi!!!
So happy to see kiryu again as a playable character
