2007 Honda Civic mysterious coolant leak found!! Bad news!

This 2007 Honda Civic had came in for losing coolant. After checking everything obvious I pulled the alternator to check the water pump. Found casting cracked on engine block.

Can you use the sealant to fix the leak?

Known issue on early 8th gen, there was a TSB for the first eight years that Honda replaced the shortblock for free to correct.

Leak in that same area on a 2007 civic. I didn't watch it during a pressure test, but noticed dampness in that exact area and I felt i saw cracks.

live and let live I called Honda customer service, they told me I was 3 years to late. I Never got a recall notice from them...its a 2007 with 140k km. Nice! Huh

I had the same leak on my 2008. It was a hairline crack in the block around where you were pointing. Had to replace the whole motor.

Way out of date now isnt it ? I think they did 10 years, so its been over since 2018-2019

Was never recalled but instead gave a 10extended warranty timeframe
