It wasn't because it was OP at all, it was non deterministic in that if it popped off it was no guarantee to win. Every top tier commander is different in that it can and does win on the spot with any assortment of combos.
yeah i also really dont understand how Kenrith is 2 tiers above Jodah either. Best case scenario playing against Jodah is they cant get all their mana fixed in time. otherwise its just game
I have played nearly every one of these commanders at some point. Thinking to myself "this is cool, I bet these will make for fun decks". Then proceed to smear my opponents across the table, prompting me to disassemble the deck because no one was having fun. I love powerful commanders with unique effects, but in casual games they become so ridiculous that even I don't feel good playing them.
@cosmogregster there are plenty of times I'm playing in high power games that I win, but the win was so easy or my turns took too long that I feel bad for playing the decks. It's nothing to do with who I play, it's what I play and how I play it that can make things feel unfun for myself and others.
@reachSora lol. Well, when I tested these commanders, I did it unaware of the power level of the decks, but no, I didn't play against pre cons when I did. I have played higher level decks against the people who do like to just throw their strongest deck at a table to crush people. I've even played those people, knocked them out and then proceeded to give the other players the win just to send that person a message.
I thought the same until i played against it in cedh and it does not fair well against the rog sai or tymna kraum. Even winota overpowered the yuriko player along with my kinnan. Against other lower powered cedh decks it will do great but it varies from game to game.
Think about a typical board state in a Yuriko game. Does the Yuriko player “win” when they play/ninjitsu Yuriko? Do I have to counter/remove Yuriko the first time it’s played or can it hit me twice and I can still be alive? Kin’n is a S tier because if he resolves the player most likely has infinite mana next and will start to draw their deck and try to win the game that turn. There should be no next turn with an S tier commander on this list.
I built a ''partner with'' deck with Jodah the unifier ..... The value you get ..... you play a legendary partner with X card ... jodah cascades ..... you put another ''partner with Y'' on the battlefield ... you grab those 2 partners to cast next turn .... it's crazy
I also built an all curses deck with Kenrith .... It changes the game into a 2 vs 2 as you find someone at the table to team up with you as you curse the other 2 players
I've been playing Kinnan since it came out. It's my most fun deck I've ever played. Nothing better than ramping harder than anyone else and flipping into massive beasts or casting massive creatures.
How the hell is voja c lol, I’ve literally been swung for lethal the turn it’s played and I even had blockers . The deck builds itself. Play elves , get mana , play wolf, swing, profit
I have a sliver deck. And Sliver Overlord is miles ahead of the First Sliver. Without targeted removal, I run away with every single game I play with it. Training Grounds to 1 mana search for Morophon. Cast it, search for as many slivers as I have mana for, give them haste and tap for colors to keep growing my army and within 3 turns of Overlord and Morophon on the field: I have an army of 30/30 first strike, Lifelink, indestructible, vigilance, haste, flying, shroud, poisonous, mana dork, flash, can't be blocked or whenever dealt damage it deals that much to any player, and protection. While the First is really good, it doesn't even compare to the Overlord.
Agree with Sauron being a D. Maybe its just my group, but by time I can cast him I am usually on the defensive since the other players have already gotten combo pieces in play. The times I have, its "this is the final trigger for someone to board wipe" and its back to the command zone with a brutal 8 CMC to recast. Then its like, with 8 mana, there are better options in the 99 then recasting him.
@@kvdxx6603 So. What? Instead of relying on specific cards, a majority of your spells started the chain, likely on turn 2. If you didn't win AND got wiped, starting over wasn't hard, and if you didn't get wiped you won. How is this WORSE than Yumiko and Korvold, let alone the cascaders?
People with different opinions can move things around as they choose but I thought it is a pretty darn good list! The only thing I felt strongly about was the rating difference for Miirym versus Jodah. Jodah is much more pip intensive to get out even at 1 less total mana and has no protection while Miirym has ward 2. I can see an argument for picking Jodah because of his anthem ability but being harder to consistently cast and not having protection seems more relevant to me. Put them in the same tier together, whether you shift one up or the other down.
Winota C? It was a top cEDH commander while ago. Korvold kind died after dockside ban, Urza was out of the format for soooo musch time. K'rrik is problaby the fastest commander at cEDh there is, super fragile, but the fastest.

In a Veyran, Voice of Duality deck, Reverberate, narsets reversal, fork, etc. Creates infinite mage craft triggers, making veyran infinitely powerful. The deck sits back, unintimidating, until veyran hits for commander, unblockable. Meanwhile, burning the table out! Will win out of nowhere. A tier
Aesi, Tatyova, and 4c Omnath definitely need to be on this list and probably in the A tier or even S tier. Idk how Tatyova fell out of the top 100, it is still one of the most popular commanders I randomly run into out in the wild alongside Queen Marchesa, and lands are the strongest card type in commander right now. Omnath alone probably deserves S tier with the other two falling into A since more colors means more land support.
Kaalia of the Vast is still one of the most popular commanders according to EDHREC, but I have not seen anyone play her for 2 years in my lgs. Since there is not much data on edh games outside of cedh (tournaments), the format and opinions are highly subjective.
Nadu was an s tier that was brutal for most casual decks unless you played cedh to hold it down. Korvold took a ruthless hit with the loss of dockside and jeweled lotus but it has other options to help out. Winota is the strongest boros commander out there. If built correctly it can become a menace. K’rrik deserves higher on how fast you can play it and combos you may be able to abuse early on. Other than that i like the list
Excuse me sir. The game designers called her a mistake - and not having to pay commander tax is sooo broken. Maybe she is not that good in cedh anymore, but for casual she is too busted. Removal against her is pretty much useless, and if you have luck with your draw she ends games too fast for my taste.
Knew urza was problem when someone made a bunch of treasure tokens and then just continued to tap them for free over and over bringing out crazy stuff for 5 mana every turn lol

Well, you're talking about casual. Therefore, this tier list is very wrong. Korvold, Yuriko and Veyran are probably the 3 strongest in casual. Surely, if you make Kinnan a cEDH, he would be the first place, but, we're not talking about cEDH

cEDH is the same format as EDH. cEDH means that it will be the most powerful strategy that will be played at the table. So yes this is for cEDH unless the author didn’t know what I just said then I can’t use logic to know it
K'rrik is probably one of the few of these I disagree with the placement on your list. I've dominated games with him, winning as early as turn two. I love him, but my tables refuse to play me when he sits in my command zone.
K'rrik got really hurt by the lotus and crypt ban, he needs fast mana to get off the ground. Every colorless cost on a card is working against you, and you need as much usable floating mana as you can get to play him effectively
@@djomni115 that is still true, but dark ritual and sol ring still make it possible to go off really early. Not to the same consistency, but with what he is capable of, he deserves a higher ranking. He allows for plays that shouldn't be seen till turn 5 or higher to suddenly come down on turns 2 to 4. If a deck isn't prepared to respond at instant speed, he can shut out games before most players even began.
Don't think this is accurate, for me, niv mizzt, kenrith, vojaa, sauron & korvold are dead, they are not cedh commanders anymore, in the other way, yuriko should be Tier S, since it got stronger after the ban list.
Based on the comments and my experience against these decks I am thinking Mitch doesn't;t play against the best versions of these decks. Example: Zhulodok is insane. The precon is very good. However, a tuned Zhulodock deck is insane. Colorless is actually a benefit, not a drawback. There is SOOOO much colorless ramp. Zhulodok IS coming out by turn 3.

If a deck isn't prepared to respond at instant speed, he can shut out games before most players even began.
isshin in C is crazy i let chatterfang slide but isshis crazy
I have 3 Kenrith decks that are completely diferent and all are great so yea...
How about the infamous cruelclaw
i thought 100 commanders? why 27 only?
U should play against my sauron deck. Bet u wouldn't d tier him after that.
Never been this early on these videos 😅
This man has never played against a Lightpaws I see...
What about other Jodah
Where's.....the Weaver?
I've never seen Winota rated so poorly.
Isshin in c is criminal lol😊
I disagree
You clearly have never seen light paws kill someone on turn 3 before
Yeah and how many times have you actually seen that happen?
This tier list is like the ban list is so all over the place and ridiculous .
Don't think this is accurate, for me, niv mizzt, kenrith, vojaa, sauron & korvold are dead, they are not cedh commanders anymore, in the other way, yuriko should be Tier S, since it got stronger after the ban list.
yes, yes...WInota in C mehehehe *laughs in Ornithopter*
No way u put the 1st Atraxa at B tier
Didnt see Magda up there.
Winota in c is a crime
Wow Stella Lee infinite combo isn’t even on the list
It's too early post ban to figure out
