"Tangerine" is goosebumps beyond beautiful. "Carouselambra" is 10 minutes long and so worth the listen with seamless transitions. "Rock and Roll" because of Bonham's intro and beyond. Love "The Ocean" too, so unique with interesting transitions.
Got to see them live on 4 occasions--worth the moderate hearing loss! Top 3: 1. Dazed and Confused 2. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 3. When the Levee Breaks
Asking a Zeppelin fan to pick his top 3 songs is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. But here goes: 1. Since I’ve Been Loving You. 2. Dazed and Confused. 3. Ten Years Gone. Note: This could completely change a year from now.
If I recall correctly, Zeppelin wrote The Ocean as a tribute to their concert crowds. His daughter is mentioned, but I think the overall song was about the crowds
Houses of the Holy is my favorite Zeppelin LP. My favorite tracks from the entire Led Zeppelin catalog are 1) “Over the Hills and Far Away,” 2) “Ten Years Gone,” and 3) “Since I’ve Been Loving You.”
Giving away my age, but I was in high school in late '70s. Zeppelin was HUGE, but I owned none. They were not on AM radio, all over FM radio, & friends always played at home & in cars (vinyl, cassette & 8-tracks). Finally record store closing had ads for $2.99 LPs to liquidate stock! Mom drove me an hour on Sat morning & I was crushed to find everything picked over. Wandered around 30-min w/ 3 LPs when staff brought out boxes of new LPs they reserved each day, since ad was all week! She wrote a check, since I wanted more than I brought cash for. Bought entire Zeppelin catalog that day, except Physicals Graffiti, (since double-LPs were not included in sale). Was late '79 or early '80, so even brand new In Through Out Door was grabbed for $2.99. THAT was a good day!!!🎸
Ya!!! There's great songs to listen to by Zep, then there's songs that I will never change the radio station when they come on. The stereo sound of the solo in What Is and What Should Never Be is epic, and the lyrics in Good Times Bad Times "I know What it is to be alone" etc... great choices!
Love all those bands but they can't be better than Zeppelin. At a certain level of excellence the only differentiation becomes a contrast in uniqueness. I mean, all personal inclination aside, man haha@@LSBBD
Y'all have so much more Zeppelin to do. They (arguably) are one of the best rock bands that have ever graced this planet. For me, they are the best. Please explore more of their catalog. It's extensive.
I used to get Rolling Stone magazine back in the 70’s when it was still a music magazine. They used to trash Zeppelin constantly, I always wondered if I was listening to a different band than them…..🧐🤔
@@1BobsYourUncleyes xmas i got tge reissue rolling stone 50th years of zep has one chapter our relationship with zep forget who wrote jimmy page refused any interview even though they were were mega stars 73 my stepdad gave me like 30 or 40 70s r.s. i kept my moms basement were thrown away after she passed away bummer wish i still had those
Hey, Hey, What can i do was on the B side of Zep's Immigrant song 45. A treasure that was lost forever until they put it on Coda, if I remember correctly. Also on their Mother Ship too, I think.
GREAT TUNE! Love the change up at the end! So, a bit of history. This 5th album, Houses of the Holy was released in 1973, a year + 4 months, after the 4th featuring their hugely successful epic "Stairway to Heaven", the same year I saw them at 17 at Madison Square Garden in NYC. oof! S2H was iconic so this album was highly anticipated with very high expectations & it didn't fail to maintain the thrown these Kings of HardRock owned. Unlike now the number of existing bands were still growing. But Mega-groups could be counted on 2 hands. Previously Rock music was still in its late adolescence period but by 71 it had matured overnight. Styles and originality were evolving at breakneck speed. Wonderful time and a true blessing to see it all happening at once.
Since I've Been Loving You The Song Remains The Same followed by The Rain Song but all of their songs are masterpieces and I love them all. Oh! Also Ten Years Gone. Can't choose ...so many.
Missed you guys. Great song choice. Can't go wrong with Zeppelin. This is off the first cassette tape I ever bought. Love the hole lp. Bit of info on this album cover. That is only 2 kids on the cover. Just thought you might like some useless info. The drums are amazing. I sing this all the time in my head. The girl he is singing about was his 3-year-old daughter. I cannot pick 3, They are all a masterpiece in their own right.
all great ones of all bands im not even a big fan of but ok last fall driving was phish live cover of no quarter of course zep fans debate whicj is best studio or msg

Too many to narrow it down to 3. So yeah, they change whenever you make another 3's best list.
Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, Over the Hills and Far Away!! Wow, this is extremely hard to do!! Love almost everything this amazing band has done.
Traded a pair of sunglasses for this album in high school, then the guy said it was his sisters and wanted it back, still have it today.
Sounds like his problem.

Nothing much better than Led Zeppelin!
Except the Kinks, Beatles, the Who, Van Halen, Queen, AC/DC.
Love all those bands but they can't be better than Zeppelin. At a certain level of excellence the only differentiation becomes a contrast in uniqueness. I mean, all personal inclination aside, man haha@@LSBBD

Scrolling through the comments, and I'm pleasantly amazed to see so many people with "Ten Years Gone" in their list! I thought I would be one of a scarce few!
I was about to type the same thing.
Ten years gone is fantastic.
Dig it when they break into that totally "unexpected" 50s doo wop in the outro.
Glad to see Andy back, he looks much healthier than I've seen him in a long time, :}
This is just an old video originally posted on Patreon. Andy isn’t back yet. He looks better because he’s about 4 years younger here.
What Is and What Should Never Be, Over The Hills and Far Away, Black Dog ....... Honorable mention to Going to California.
John Paul Jones' bass over the last minute or so of this song is epic. Simply fantastic.
LOL! I was about to say the same thing. *SiGH* Jones is horribly under-rated. It's a fucking crime.
Awesome ❤
"Ahh, it's so GOOD!!" Also, the walking bass line in the last section.
Top 3 Zeptunes: 1. Achilles Last Stand (all time fave full stop) 2. Carouselambra 3. No Quarter. These are subject to change at any time... except #1.
Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, and Since I've Been Loving You.
