      Jack954125 The car has probably an aftermarket transmission with no 5th gear but a "3,5" in its place for a greater acceleration, check the video you will see that he shifts to 5th gear after the third one ;)

    • @Jack954125
      @Jack954125 7 років тому

      I saw it in the video, just wondered why you would take out 4th as its easier/quicker than going 3rd to 5th.
      It didn't sound like 5th, revs hardly dropped. Looks and sounds like 4th has been to moved to where 5th should be but I don't get why.
      Like, what is a "3,5 gearbox".

    Quick question, why is he shifting from 3rd to 5th most of the time?

    • @theironnursk
      @theironnursk 7 років тому +2

      My guess is that when he dont need to gain any more speed, he might as well put it in fifth and give the car a second to rest, at most times the revs are pretty close to the redline.

    • @tkrc
      @tkrc 7 років тому +2

      Philippe Rochester I spotted that, still sounds like 4th though, unless it's running a modified ratio in place of 5th that wouldn't fit where 4th is?

    • @SephirothsLeftWing
      @SephirothsLeftWing 7 років тому +11

      Philippe Rochester its a (i believe) TRD gearbox. the 5th gear is geared between 3rd and 4th gear. to shorten the gearing and close the gap between 3rd & 4th

    • @griplimit261
      @griplimit261 7 років тому +12

      I believe it has whats called a "cross mission". 5th gear is really like 3.5th gear

    • @noriyaro2
      @noriyaro2  7 років тому +78

      He has an Adelia transmission that replaces the 1-3-5 shaft with a 1-3-3.5 gear. You lose fifth but get an extra gear where you need it.

  • @PeachwiseSyndrome

    Why would he drive like that after 7:30 as if he is on the track instead of just re-entering the track normally?

    • @ppaauull3854
      @ppaauull3854 7 років тому +3

      traffic behind him im sure. youre not supposed to just cut back on the track as soon as you go off.

    • @PeachwiseSyndrome
      @PeachwiseSyndrome 7 років тому +1

      ultimatemtb That's what my friend thought.
      Couldn't he wait a bit? I am sure there weren't 10000 cars on the track :(
      I feel bad about the car

    • @Mark_dj86
      @Mark_dj86 7 років тому +19

      Im not sure if you understand how traction works on the gravel / dirt but as soon as he would try to steer his car back on the road, the 2 wheels that would hit the road first would have more grip than the wheels that are still on the gravel / dirt and the car would have the tendency to spin out. As you can kind of see at 7:41. That's why he tried to steer as less as possible to get back on the road without spinning out :)

    • @PeachwiseSyndrome
      @PeachwiseSyndrome 7 років тому +1

      :( Yeah but if you drive like 20-30km/h to get back on the road you should be ok.

      Braed ae86 drivers don't use handbrake

    • @DriftNick
      @DriftNick 7 років тому +1

      At what point is he understeering? not being able to hold a drift does not equal understeer, it's an AE86 with a 4AGE of course it's not going to be able to hold really long drifts without a lot of speed.

    • @braed6202
      @braed6202 7 років тому

      DriftNick There's several points where he's struggling to remain sideways. Using the handbrake would have helped a lot

    • @DriftNick

      I'm inclined to agree, considering it snapped straight/left on the last right hander onto the straight, immediately before. Maybe the front left was going flat? Or something wasn't right in the suspension...
