Interesting obsrvations. I do sound for a jazz band as a hobby and I attended both shows in Las Vegas. I noticed the heavy bass in this number which followed after the break song which featured a lot of bass. Right after this number Anthony Harvey, the music director, was talking to the board through a mic at his keyboard and I noticed an immediate improvement in the sound on the next number. Both the bass and the bass drum were reduced. I talked to him after the show and he said they went over some fifty items between performances. Sort of like half time at a football game. In the second concert Angelina kept the mic on the stand for this number and the belt on "Feeling" came through much better. In fact the entire second concert that night was way more polished. The improvement was dramatic. The band seemed like a well oiled machine. True pros all! This was a one-of event. I can only imagine how much better this concert would get if they did it a few more times. Despite only having two weeks to prepare, it was still one of the best musical events that I have experienced.❤
Part of what you’re describing with her mike technique is mostly a result of the cell phone recording. When you were there in person it wasn’t nearly as noticeable. As a matter of fact it made perfect sense. You still heard her voice perfectly. It just wasn’t overwhelming. It was, well, perfect. She’s been doing that technique for years now. It’s something she’s worked on and is quite familiar with. She was doing it at the concert in Portsmouth also. And I think you can see her doing it at her concerts in Norway in 2022.
Great reaction. I agree about the mic. Of course, many of these Vegas recordings are from cell phones, so the sound quality is at best an approximation of what the real sound was. Wish I coiuld have been there!! Hope she comes to SF.
Great takes, buddy. I absolutely agree with you 🙂 Super nice to see you back with an Angelina reaction again, I've been missing you. Super funny ending to the video! Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
'lazer beam of total quality'.....nicely put. On a few occasions her mic placement was a bit off, some words weren't heard properly. Her stage craft is a learning experience, she'll figure it out with no doubt.
I recommend the very professional videos made by James Thiel and Big Angie Fan. In these, a video with the best audio quality is created from several fan videos from both concerts😍 Almost all songs are available🙏Worth to see and hear it😎🥳
Very interesting about the mic as I was wondering about that when I heard this the first time... I did wonder if she moved it too far away at the point you highlight, but then she has been an expert with a mic pretty much from birth so I questioned my (naive) reaction... still wonderful of course, as you make clear in your nice reaction.
It’s a professional technique to do that with the microphone, all singers do that. If you take a high note and the microphone is to close, it’s cracking and siren sound starts. And that’s not enjoyable for the ears. So I must say she has a professional stage presence and technique. After all she has been doing this for 10 years. Love this sassy emotional performance! 🔥👌❤️
She pretty much knows what she's doing Ellis. If it doesn't work she will change it next time. Shes her own girl I've learned not to question her. I do like you giving me all the inside info that I don't know I've learned a lot from you your good. On the voice side she will always be right When she was born she was touched by god musically.
Based on the sound at the beginning where her voice was subdued even though she was closer to the mic, I think the mic gain was not set appropriately for what she may be used to. I was at the concert and I think it got corrected at some point.
Not sure if you have up on KPop or not but Lay has 2 new songs you didn't hear, Ten's debut mini album was stellar, D.O dropped new music under his real name Doh Kyung Soo, and both Chen and Suho has albums coming out later this month.
Thanks Ellis, love the reaction and comments...this being recorded on a Cell phone has a whole lot to do with the sound quality....she has a very powerful voice and can move the Mic away for her belting notes, not going to be picked up by the cell phone unfortunately....is what it is, to be there Live, you would not even notice that, she has and always had great Mic technique, This is what we have, though there are several much better recordings by James Theil and Chris Walker (Big Angie fan) who have "cleaned" up and edited these videos quite nicely. Highly suggest you check either of those channels for much better quality videos.
I think this was the early concert some one who went to both said there was a few tiny issues as they heard there had been hardly any time to practice with the band. Even the venue was a cancellation Angelina snapped up because it was where Elvis had his residency. Despite the short notice fans flew in from all over the world and both were sold out. They said that the second concert everything had been sorted. .
You’re right about that pulling the microphone away, but do you realize how few times she has performed live in concerts in the last few years? This is only the 2nd full concert since the Summer of ‘22 in Norway when she was 16. The last one was in September in New Hampshire. Her stage experience since the pandemic is practically non-existent and she has exactly 3 concerts worth of experience in the last 4 years. I think she was actually much more comfortable on stage as a child than she is now, because she was performing much more often at that time. What do you think, Ellis?
I feel that AJ may be a little fatigued during this song. Microphone placement was uncharacteristically not quite right on a couple of occasions. It also seemed she was running out of gas during during the climb, with an abbreviated peak note as compared with her other performances of this song. Amazingly good just the same. I want to hear her voice as much as anyone, but I'd rather she didn't perform two concerts with a total of 38 songs, plus two meet and greets all in one night. I'm sure she and her audience loved it, but c'mon give the girl a break! Glad you call it as you hear it, Ellis.
I think the way she worked the microphone seems to take away from the performance, here, mostly because of the poor quality of the recording. They got to hear something else, I would think.
Your comments are brilliant!!!!Absolutely!!!!
Bravo!!!!!

Nice you are back ! Love your reaction and comments ❤❤❤❤
Fenomenale come sempre.
👍👍Great performance, I loved it. And thanks for your excellent break down. 🖖❤

You're right, the band was perfect live and Angelina was fantastic, huge voice live! These videos don't do her justice.
beautiful beautiful reaction. Laser Beams, yeah
You got it, Ellis....

What a beautiful live performance from angelina on this big legendery stage...elvis...👑♥️🌹💫
She's pure musical magic !!!
Aways good to see you Ellis!
Good points about the microphone.
She actually played that game a bit on her Norway's got talent performance of Gloomy Sunday. But it worked there.

In both New Hampshire and Las Vegas, Angelina had occasional issues with the sound system producing feedback.

😀😀😀😀😀
The best videos of this concert are those of James Thiel. Angelina already moved the mic away from her face years ago.

Would love us both to hear an official recording instead of these audience recorded versions
