I would love the dynamic mic as my co-host of our Lace Out AFL podcast has his Rode Procaster and my Shure SM58 doesn't provide me a sound and level that matches theirs. Working with my Rodecaster Pro II, it would be the final piece of my Rode setup and it would make me soune as awesome as you in this video.

I really like the condenser mic because to me it sounds more crisp and clean. I love the deep sound of the dynamic but for some reason the condenser mic sounded better to me this time. I'm just being honest, if I won one of these microphones, I would donate it to one of my less fortunate friends with an up and coming youtube channel. I already have a mic, but not everyone can afford nice equipment and I would definitely share the love with one of my friends 💙 thanks for the video man :)

Great video! I had heard about their "X" line of mics that came out but this is the first I've actually heard them be used. In my opinion, the XCM-50 seems like the quality sounds a little better, plus the smaller form factor kind of appeals to me as well. Also, with the microphones coming with the Unify software for FREE is a HUGE plus in my opinion because I'm a Musician/Streamer and it makes it so much easier having the software right on the computer and my budget isn't big so getting stuff for free always is awesome! I'm sure there are less fortunate people who could use it so maybe I don't "deserve" it but hey I wouldn't mind getting it lol good luck to everyone!

Hi Luiz! Thanks for the video. I'm having an issue where my faders on the stream mix don't match on OBS. It's like they are turned always +0db and if I change them in Unify nothing changes on OBS. Any tip? thanks!

I am currently looking for a microphone since i have recently picked up singing as a hobby and my singing teacher says i got some potential, so i want to record it and see what i can do! These microphones seem very good, but I think the XDM-100 would be better for my purpose. Unfortunately, I am a student and do not have the money to buy one, so lets hope i get lucky in the givaway :D. GL to the others aswell

8:30 thank you for the video I have a question I have the xcm 50 and I’m trying to use sound recordings to make my streams kind of cooler when you record a sound can you make the recording smaller or deleted like a bit of the audio so the sound come right as you pick the sound button

Great reviews, Luiz! The condenser makes your voice sound very crisp but the dynamic mic makes it sound fuller. What blew my mind the most is the unify software. It's very handy for streamers because you can split your audio and edit them separately. Also, the difference between the quality with and without unify is like night and day. It's awesome.
I have been streaming a variety of content on Twitch for over a year now and my Fifine K670 condenser mic has been great. However, there are certain limitations when it comes to its quality. I had to work around OBS filters to make it sound more clean and professional. Also, it's not very dependable when doing karaoke streams--something that I like to do often in my channel. I'd be grateful to win the XDM-100 as it would be a huge step up for my gear. I chose it over the condenser mic because I live in a really noisy neighborhood and it just sounds a lot better for me. The Rode X products are looking like great packages, not only because of the hardware, but also the software. It seems to be incredibly powerful, which is something I think a lot of USB microphones lack. The XDM-100 would be my personal pick tho, I just prefer dynamic mics. The type of audio they produce sounds really nice to my ears. The noise rejection they provide is also pretty nice because I live in a noisy environment, so condenser mics just don't work as well since it picks up every little noise in the room, the keyboard especially can get very loud while gaming sometimes. I've been thinking about livestreaming again, so this would be really nice for that. It's also pretty future proof, so if I decide to record some instruments, I would also be able to do that

Hello Luis Would you recommend this ones over all the other michrophones on the market ? i have a blue yeti but i dont like the old usb interface so i wanted to update i liked your video a lot just dont completely know if this ones are better than the shure ones.

I just bought the XDM100 and I am getting Code 43 on 4 different PC’s. Tried different ports, cables, updates, uninstall/reinstall, just about everything I can find. Keep getting ‘unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed). Did I just receive a defective device or have others seen similar issues and there is by chance a fix?
These new Rode X products look awesome. Trying to save to get my daughter some good presents but would love to upgrade to the Dynamic if I win.

Hi Luiz. I'm a novice Radio Presenter and Content Creator from Sri Lanka. I've been searching for a wonderful quality USB Dynamic Microphone all these days. But the options are very limited here in Sri Lanka as almost every dynamic mic available here are XLR only and also due to the economic crisis here, the prices of mics are so hard to afford for me. I currently use an Elgato Wave 1 with Wave Link software . It's a condenser mic of course. But I really wish I had a USB Dynamic Microphone such as the Rode XDM100 to make my audio much better in terms of sound quality.
Luiz awesome video thanks so much. Now I have a question. I have the XCM-50 (wish I would've found your link sooner lol - next time) but I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to attach the Tripod to the microphone swivel. How did you go about it? It's totally going over my head ha!
Hahah no problem! I’m happy to help and glad you took some value in my video. To answer your question, there is a rubber-like protector over the spot where you screw on the microphone and attach it to the tripod base (probably to protect it). To remove it, pull the rubber part out of the base of the microphone and screw the tripod on. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@luizhribeiro Ah I see! Well apparently they gave me the wrong size screw. The Tripod screw is too small for the female part of the adapter that screws onto the mic part lol. I emailed them. They made a mistake on my package as it the screw (male part) is too small. But thanks for your response!

Hey i have a question, im new to Unify and i bought the XDM-100, the problem is, when i try to play something on the smartpad, it plays the sound and even others can hear it but what do i have to do in the Settings so that i can hear it too, its playing the sound but i cant hear it. Is there any way to fix it?

The XDM 100 really sounds good and slightly better than the original version the PodCaster, and would works better for those in a untreated room. Really impressed with how Rode packed these in terms of hardware and software

My favorite is the XDM-100, which sounds natural (without the "big bottom" effect) and would work better than the XCM-50 in an imperfectly treated room.
Now, why do I deserve one?... Well, I don't actually. I'd like to try recording stories with it -- I really like how you can tailor the sound to make it clean and make it *yours* -- but I realize that it isn't what it was made for, and so I probably disqualified myself. Eh.

I'd love either one as they are both bad ass and soudn great and the true magic seems to be the UNIFY program. I'd use it to help promote the business I work for and to help my wife build her business. Hey Luiz, first let me tell you this is a great video. ;) I wonder if you can help me maybe. I am so far my whole life just (by now older) regular gamer, you know, the usual. ;) And I wanted to go into Streaming now slowly as well. So my gf was so nice, as a surprise, and gifted me the Rode Rodecaster 2 Pro. I was like woow, i didnt see that coming. ;) So far, what I had (also because i had a keyboard (musical) ) was a Focusrite Scarlett and a pair of Monitor Speakers at the wall and, lets just say, some other microphone (not Rode etc..). And for playing that was fine. So now because of my idea to get into Streaming, i sit now in front of a Rode Rodecaster Pro 2 and i have to admit, i am as they say hardly seeing the forest because of all the trees. So many things, especially routing etc. is somewhat confusing for me.
I have seen videos about it, and although I get the idea behind it, I am sometimes confused which has to go where (so far I only use one USB cable, because its kinda funny that considering how much my gf had to pay to gift me this item, they didnt include at least 2 USB cables, especially considering that they make such a big marketing out of the dual audio interface in this).
You know, back then a long time ago, i tried softwares as Soundmeter Potato etc. which was cool and could do a few things, but it was also always very buggy and created a lot of issues. In my opinion thats not an option really. Now back to this Microphone and the Software from Rode, as I understood it, it also has "virtual" audio devices / channels which can be added to a specific app, so that technically i could use one simply for the game, and one for the music software and so on. Is that correct ? And would you say that aside from the obvious really tactile difference (one is just a software, the other is a software in a hardware mixer), what would you suggest in my case ?
I mean, i have not yet started with the Streaming, i am building up to that slowly now. But for now, i just want to use the Rode Rodecaster Pro 2 as a Audio Interface, as I used the Focsurite before, where I can use my Microphone (XLR) on and just play games and do Discord for the time being. But I dont want things from sounds I dont want to be, not also in Discord. Which on the Focusrite was simple, because that wasnt possible the way it can here with the RRCP2.
If you have the Rode Rodecaster Pro 2 maybe, could you maybe send me a few pictures of your routing tables in maybe such a way I would need it to be ? I am bad with instruction manuals, i do better understand it something is shown to me. Then I can always remember that. I dont know if you have the time of course, or wanna be bothered with that. But i could really use some help.
And I have to say again, your video was awesome. I like you way of explaining things.
