  • Hello everyone, this is Run Ze hoping everyone is having a great holiday so far! This will be last video of 2018 and we want to end the year with the vehicle that we wanted to review as soon as it came out. This 2019 Rav4 is impressive in every way. The exterior masculine design is saturated with every defined and refined line on the Rav4. Although this car lacks power, there are some really cool technology packed inside. I am hoping to see Toyota either making bigger V6s or putting force induction in their four cylinders; they are probably one of the only manufacture that has stayed with Naturally Aspirated engines in this current market. The interior oozes the Lexus feel, especially the gear selector portion in the middle. What do you guys think? What highlights and features do you guys love the most about the all-new Rav4. Let’s start a conversation

    “It’s so masculine!” lol I’m a female and I just got the limited RAV4 yesterday. Fully loaded as well, it sucks that the Canada version did not have the panoramic sunroof, mine has it and it is beautiful. Get the Pearl White version, so it’s more feminine 😂 Great video!

    $42K is reasonable for all of the features that come in the Rav4. Let's be honest, what doesn't cost $40k these days? Seems like if you want any decent looking car with features you're going to spend at least $40K.
    I would have loved to see the V6 offered in the Limited though. I'm going to be in the market for a new vehicle over the next 18months, personally I would look at a 2016-18 4Runner over the Rav4 for more space and reliability.

    I test drove an Adventure model with great hopes Saturday. Yes, it's much improved and a great car, but with one major flaw for tall people. I was so disappointed as I was hoping to buy! The center console has a sharp curve which cut into my upper shin/knee area, causing pain after a short test drive. Dang it Toyota! Why don't you put a tall driver in your development cars to point out an easily corrected design fault in your prototypes!!!

Maybe the Sequoia if you still want an suv might be more for you or the Tundra if you want a truck. I hope they also do the Highlander. As for the FJ Cruiser that would also be cool.

    • @J.W.W.
      @J.W.W. 5 років тому +1

      Snoop Anoop I’ve owned five different RAV4’s over the years, along with multiple Highlanders and one Tacoma and one Tundra. My only issue with the new RAV4 was my right knee against the sharp edge of the center console, otherwise the fit was great. I’m sure most people won’t have that issue and it’s going to be the best quality small sport ute over the long haul. Unfortunately, the pain it caused my right leg was unbearable. I’ll have to stick to my Highlander for now.

    @Yippie: What happen to the days when cars were just simple, they were some of the most reliable cars. This including Fords and Chevys. Too much garbage was put into cars to make them less reliable. All these things break down, this is why the German cars are notorious for problems. I want my car to be purist, next to nothing in them and less weight. And if you want luxury features, buy a Lexus , Mercedes or BMW . Turbo are hard on engine, and they break down components.

    Very good review.... I feel like Toyota sort of cheap'ed out on this Limited trim. It's a similar price to its competitors but lacks some of their finishes and features. No latches to fold down the rear seats? No real leather seats? No electronic controls for the passenger seat and without height adjustment? No panoramic sunroof? No turbo engine option? Heated steering wheel only heating 50% of it? Low resolution and lame graphics for the screen? I really want to like it. Looks great. I just expected more from Toyota for this new model. Feels like Toyota is riding on their name and badge to sell them. Penny pinching money at the expense of the customer. I don't like that.

    • @GuuiYae
      @GuuiYae 5 років тому +1

      What do you expect? it's a $43,000 CAD car. Panoramic sun roof available at US version, most likely going to come to Canada by 2020. If you're looking for Latches to fold down the rear seats, leather seats, electronic passenger 4 ways control seat, turbo engine, Headup display, I recommend you look into Mazda Cx-5 Signature edition (similar price). There is no better resolution graphic for the screen at this price of vehicle, If that's really important for you, you have to look for something higher such as Lexus, BMW, or RangRover.

    • @ColdStart
      @ColdStart  5 років тому +6

      I look at it the same way as Yippie, critiquing this trim, not the car. I rather the limited cost even more but make me feel that I’m driving the limited trimline. Things like power passenger seat, rear latch etc should have been included, even if it costs more. The RAV4 grabbed my attention right away from its styling and I’m sure people wouldn’t mind paying more, for the limited trim line, if it included all the missing options and details. Overall, given the opportunity, I would still buy this car.

    • @yippie6862

      @@yippie6862 Cx5 doesn't have more or less. Cx5 is actually less reliable than Rav 4 while it offers a bit more. What you mentioned in demand is not possible with the price of these cars. Like I said unless you wanna go for lexus or BMW.

    I definitely like the front, looks "toyota" truck to me. The back looks like it's trying to be a Jeep. Seems like a much nicer Rav than the last gen but idk if they're trying a little too hard with features that people really won't even take advantage of. I like the bump in power for sure. I think it's a winner! But maybe they'll scare the moms away with this model, who knows. More masculine doesn't necessarily matter, as they tend to gravitate toward trucks.

    @davechurch1661 5 років тому +3

    I dont like the idea of turbo4, but why aren't they offering v6? I think most people want a 5 passenger CUV with a v6. The MPG for the 4 is not much better and considering the ability to merge onto highway or to handle hills is much more important than a few MPG's. Hopefully the new 2 row Honda Passport isn't too big for its v6... But yea Rav4, CR-V, Crosstrek, etc would be better with a 6 option(and not for racing or whatever, but just a smoother safer riding family vehicle)....But great video, and I have a 2017 Rav4 and am going to take a look at the 2019 soon!

      dave church I know! I was pretty disappointed there isn’t a V6 option. That will actually open up more market imo. Thanks for watching Dave!

      Cause even with a 4 cylinder it sells great. Most people buy these cars for efficiency, and cost not power

      @@alextran8188 Turbos and V6 Transverse mounted engines are a maintenance nightmare. They need to make a larger naturally aspirated 4 for the Highlander and get rid of the V6. The V6 should be reserved for the 4Runner.

      @@alextran8188 yes, but I believe that the 6 in the long run will be just as efficient because of how much the 4 will have to work, especially if loaded with passenger and going up hills or merging on highway. A 6 would cost more, but it would be an option, and I think more people are settling for the 4(because there is no option) then outright choosing it. However my opinion wll be tested by the 2019 honda passport. If(big if) it comes in under 35k then your talking a 2 row v6 that is not much bigger than rav4 , and would cost the same as a limited or adventure trim rav4.

      It is my understanding that, when they offered the V6, which was prior to the 2013, only about 5‰ of buyers opted for the V6.

    I wonder why the shift lever is closer to passenger than driver? Just strange and uncomfortable if you enjoy resting your hand on shift lever 🤔

    No Panoramic sun roof but in the USA yes!? Almost was going to buy it... but nahhhhh get up to speed with the USA !!! Canada knowing that leaves a bad taste in a lot of future customers mouth. Never buy a first year crossover. Wait until 2020 to see if Toyota catches up.

      Babs Young If it were reviewed by a woman the language would be different. Being yourself and hilighting what appeals to you is not sexist. Why do people keep looking for every excuse to be offended?
