Though it didn't have 6 airbags but the 1st gen had a strong body and good build quality. Also the European spec model scored 5stars in Euro NCAP. Without build quality airbags can't do much. This has been done for C02 emission reduction by down sizing like Mercedes did in C Class AMG. This is done only for satisfying idiots and dumb heads like Greta Thunberg who think EVs are great though they emit more as per IIT Kanpur studies. Also they are difficult to produce and to dispose of after they are used i.e. 8-10years. It is high time Carguys need to protest against illogical steps by not letting the layman know as they do not have so much technical knowledge.
Meanwhile back in 2020 we used to get Polo in 7.80 with 1.0 tsi (110 bhp/175 nm) way better build quality,safety,16 inch alloys,handling and dynamics etc Avg Indian customer's obsession with mileage will result in 2 cylinder engines in future💀

The main thing is the strength of the chassis, the sheet used in the outer body is designed for crumple that's why it feels light. A car with a strong metal body and weak chassis won't make a safe car. Well Maruti have said they have reinforced the chassis. We'll see until the crash test is done.

You would get much better suspension setup and steering feedback, just go for a test drive in both, you wouldnt feel the lack of dualjet and the ignis would put a smile on your face with its handling. The wagon r feels unstable on the highways at triple digit speeds and is pathetic during cornering.
and the ignis is cheaper bro, get the zeta variant, it gets more features than the zxi plus of wagonr like push button start and request sensors on both front doors and even the bootlid. The zeta will cost around 7.30 lakh on road while the wagonr zxi plus comes at 8 lakh on road. As the ignis is underrated, maruti always gives heavy discounts on it. Its a pity that the indian consumers are not giving the ignis the love it deserves... good for us enthusiasts, we get a good quality product at a very attractive price.

Whereas as MARUTI CARS especially FRONX can't even accommodate a A4 size document. No centre cup holder. No glove box cooling and lamp.
If Suzuki is claiming it to be fun to drive car then, it should have at least given 1.0 boosterjet engine in top models. When coming to Indian version Suzuki will always cost cut as much as possible . Suzuki should prefer India because India contributed a lot in their growth . Major part of their shares and profit is also from India. But they forgot everything. Even zxi plus has no arm rest and other basic features but price hiked so much.The panel quality is also poor. I hope this will rate atleast 2 star in Bharath ncap .We can wait and see what will happen.
The gap between the Japanese/European versions and the Indian version keeps on increasing in terms of features. They also reduced one cylinder which reduces power by 8.5bhp and 1Nm torque. On the other hand the pricing has gone up quite a lot. They know they will outsell other cars in this category due to the Swift's fame as a pretty driver oriented car. It'll take time before the real thing comes out in front of the public. If Maruti Suzuki isn't brought to it's knees, they won't change. They won't improve.

I don't mind the exterior looks, retains the swift identity and will look better in different colours and real life, but interior just looks afterthought especially that horribly designed fat bezel sceeen. What I do very much mind is the new 3 cyl engin with even less power than torque than the smooth dualjet which is a gem of an engine. This as per spec sheet is an even heavier car meaning should be dirt slow. Should have offered the boosterjet in higher variants.

The Swift with diesel engine power assisted hydraulic steering notchy gear box was full of feel mechanical feel my friend used to own one I remember driving it every time when we had to roam around with him ditching my car at that time The Honda city Vtec manual partly due to it's beige interiors I used to avoid people sitting in my car as those seats tend to get dirty real quick lol 😂 but yeah I used to enjoy driving my friends Swift that mechanical feel and a kind of heft it had used to feel so so good

The Baleno Aplha mt is just 12000 more compared to Swift Zxi plus mt here in our city . Baleno will be much better buy here more power more features and a bigger car. Even the i20 Asta manual (not the optional one) is just 10k more compared to top end swift The last good Swift was 2nd gen Swift 2011-2018, 1.3 DDIS was just fab ♥♥

When coming to Indian version Suzuki will always cost cut as much as possible . Suzuki should prefer India because India contributed a lot in their growth . Major part of their shares and profit is also from India. But they forgot everything. Even zxi plus has no arm rest and other basic features but price hiked so much.The panel quality is also poor. I hope this will rate atleast 2 star in Bharath ncap .We can wait and see what will happen.
A rational buyer would get the altroz turbo at this price. Design, safety, power, tank build.
The gap between the Japanese/European versions and the Indian version keeps on increasing in terms of features. They also reduced one cylinder which reduces power by 8.5bhp and 1Nm torque. On the other hand the pricing has gone up quite a lot. They know they will outsell other cars in this category due to the Swift's fame as a pretty driver oriented car. It'll take time before the real thing comes out in front of the public. If Maruti Suzuki isn't brought to it's knees, they won't change. They won't improve.

I am sad that the Swift got more bad quality than before and I really thought that the UK version with ADAS would come to India since the UK car with 1.2 ton weight got rated 4 stars Euroncap but the Indian is 890Kg with waste Maruti Steel so Feel this should flop then only the Maruti Guys will know that Copy paste is Bad for Bad models
Indian new gen swift is 50kgs heavier(920kg) than previous gen (870kg).... structural integrity better ..... expected more stars

I don't mind the exterior looks, retains the swift identity and will look better in different colours and real life, but interior just looks afterthought especially that horribly designed fat bezel sceeen. What I do very much mind is the new 3 cyl engin with even less power than torque than the smooth dualjet which is a gem of an engine. This as per spec sheet is an even heavier car meaning should be dirt slow. Should have offered the boosterjet in higher variants.

The Swift with diesel engine power assisted hydraulic steering notchy gear box was full of feel mechanical feel my friend used to own one I remember driving it every time when we had to roam around with him ditching my car at that time The Honda city Vtec manual partly due to it's beige interiors I used to avoid people sitting in my car as those seats tend to get dirty real quick lol 😂 but yeah I used to enjoy driving my friends Swift that mechanical feel and a kind of heft it had used to feel so so good
For fuel efficience, there cars like celerio, wagonR, alto...... In suzuki. So why are they making this sportier hatch back engine downgrading? So disappointed
They need to get Fronx turbo engine into this.. now that w don’t have polo in market, Swift with 1 litre tsi will be good .

I was excited for this car because there were rumours that they were bringing ADAS with this in the hatchback segment but disappointment looks like this. This is just a Downgrade to Baleno.

Hold up, 10+ Lakhs for the top end version of this? I seriously hope it flops. Maruti should not be encouraged to launch such a product with less features, lower power, poor build and higher price. They haven’t addressed a single concern of past models and have in fact cut down what made the previous gen so fun to drive!

The Baleno Aplha mt is just 12000 more compared to Swift Zxi plus mt here in our city . Baleno will be much better buy here more power more features and a bigger car. Even the i20 Asta manual (not the optional one) is just 10k more compared to top end swift
The last good Swift was 2nd gen Swift 2011-2018, 1.3 DDIS was just fab ♥♥

Isn't it better to invest in 2nd or 3rd hand MINI Cooper for this premium price - at least it's better than this I think.
If this car gets 4 stars in GNCAP, then this will be a strong contender against i10. Also, maybe unpopular opinion, I personally don’t like Baleno’s design.
