It's probably business issues been followed by politics issues. The franchise was running on thin ice since atleast a decade - at some point you'll then lose all your support. That franchise has been there longer than they were in Winnipeg. They won only 2 playoff rounds (both in the same year) and 1 qualifying round in that time span. Some franchises just have so much trouble year over year. Just look at the Panthers between their two Stanley Cup runs.
They probably will. When my Northstars moved to Dallas, Ralph Strangis was their color commentator and he went to Dallas. Play by play man Al Shaver retired, but he had been with the franchise from the bigging in 1967 and was getting up there in age.

Wow, you are clueless. You have zero idea of what you speak of, that is a college rink that only holds that many seats. In my last game ever, I was locked in like crazy. If we won, we kept on playing in the playoffs. I did everything I could to help the team. Played a nearly perfect game. After the game my coach came up to me with the most shocked look on his face and said “where was that effort for the last three years I’ve coached you?” Whoops.
Long story short, I need more than some end of the line effort before I’d consider Zona fans to be good fans. It’s a desert town full of out of towners. Screw the Yotes. Onward.
@@chrisg7731What? Most people in Arizona are from there. I know because I’m from there. Yes we can tell you have ADHD.
If they cared so much, other than the last game ever, then they should have bought season tickets or even show up to games. I've watched only a handful of their games because of the visiting team, but every time it felt like a home game. Nobody in AZ shows up until there's a reason to whine.
@@BuckyBarnesNC Read MrSkins45 comment. If you care about something, don't wait til the last game to show you care. There are very few Coyotes fans in Arizona.

Regardless of view it's sad when a city loses a sports team. The Coyotes had a long 28 year run. But politics and business issues finally caught up to the team. My heart felt condolences to the team and it's fans.
It's probably business issues been followed by politics issues.
The franchise was running on thin ice since atleast a decade - at some point you'll then lose all your support.
The franchise was one of the worst in NHL lately - no offense to the employees, players and fans - my toughts are with *You!*
"but politics and business issues finally caught up to the team"????
Huh?
No, my friend. The complete lack of support from the community and the lack of a fan base caught up with them.
@@tchevrieryou think people wanna go support a team in a college arena at ASU in tempe? its not about fans, nobody complains about the fan attendance in winnipeg for example. people support the team, they love the team. ownership forced them out of two arenas and into a college rink because they didnt wanna pay taxes. if there was a succesful team that consistently makes the playoffs and has a competent ownership group people would show up 100% of the time, look at florida or dallas or vegas etc
@@patrikjarvine8542 LMFAO. You are completely wrong and delusional. It's not about the arena size. Fans never went to see the coyotes when they were in a state of the art arena in Glendale. And when you can't even get 5000 people to watch a game that's reflection of the poor fan base, not the facility. If the fans would have shown up in Glendale, if the corporate support would have been there in Glendale, then the ownership would have had no problems paying their bills. But the fans didn't show up, the corporate support wasn't there, so the money wan't there. That's why they got evicted. C'mon man. Don't go blaming the facility or ownership for crappy local support of the team. That's a cop out on your part. The fan base was never there. They don't care about hockey. And that's why they should never have moved there in the first place, and why this move is a long time coming.
@@tchevrier ok im gonna try to make this simple for you and stop arguing after that. people dont show up to see their team lose. they dont wanna spend hundreds of dollars to watch a team suck on the ice. look at buffalo, youre not gonna go calling for that team to be relocated. meruelo is a billionaire, he had the money, he just didnt wanna pay up. and if you think the only way for the team to sustain itself is ticket sales idk what to tell you man. the fans didnt fail the team, and they sure didnt fail the ownership, that went the other way around. and once again, thinking the problem is simply ”its not a hockey market” is being the delusional one. you’re all the same ones that were yelling that to the panthers a few years back and look at them now.
Isn't it a bit ironic that both father and son Doan have relocated with the same franchise after their first season?
Oh my gosh you’re right!
Where were all these fans during the last 10 years?

In Tempe and Phoenix
They were in a different arena before 2022-23

I hope The coyotes are able to come back within 3-5 years. The owner/arena situation has not been great ever since they moved to Phoenix. This is not on the fans at all. This is the owners fault.
And will be the SAME owner if it does return. one of the reasons he's selling is he's promised a expansion if he's able to get land for a new place.

I was a 12 year old Manitoba kid when the Jets left. I remember other kids going around school, collecting money to send to the team, hoping to keep them in Winnipeg. It was a sad time for a lot of fans. It feels kind of weird seeing this franchise go through the relocation process again, but not surprising. Hopefully they can turn things around in Utah. Best of luck.
Hey at least the crew was saved
Fitting they beat the Oilers. Oilers had a 25 game losing streak against them from 2011 to 2016. I know because I was at almost every one. Coyotes would wipe the floor with the Oil. I’m actually going to miss them. Sad.
They gave this franchise every chance to get it together

Lots of fans blaming the owner but the reality is that its the fans fault. They never would have been in this position if they were able to get good and regular attendance from the beginning.
Not true. All NHL teams struggle to sell tickets when the team is bad. The Yotes have been one of the worst teams in the league. Only won the division 1 time in their entire existence, 2011. And were selling out the arena all the time that year. The fans arnt to blame when their ownership was never serious about building a winning team. I wouldnt pay money for games when the ownership isnt even trying to be competitive

That franchise has been there longer than they were in Winnipeg.
They won only 2 playoff rounds (both in the same year) and 1 qualifying round in that time span.
Some franchises just have so much trouble year over year.
Just look at the Panthers between their two Stanley Cup runs.
I hope the announcers move with them they are amazing.
They probably will. When my Northstars moved to Dallas, Ralph Strangis was their color commentator and he went to Dallas. Play by play man Al Shaver retired, but he had been with the franchise from the bigging in 1967 and was getting up there in age.

The building only holds that many, genius.
Wow, you are clueless.
You have zero idea of what you speak of, that is a college rink that only holds that many seats.
They went there due to poor planning: going to Glendale, poor initial ownership, poor leases set up, arena changed ownerships, bad contracts between city and municipal agencies, property management poor execution.

Last night before the game, ran into a couple wearing their EDM gear and we gave them a hard time. They said when EDM is in town, they wear it. But all the other games, they wear ARI. You can say all day long that opposing teams had more fans, but because so many people transplant here, we are picking up someone else's fans along the way. They just like hockey.
