In my opinion the game still looks pretty good & I was raised on games like Halo 3, COD 4 MW & all the other early 2010s big fps games. But I think the reason this game's graphics hold up is because as the Marine you're always on the run & have very limited vision making the graphics take a back seat as truly its atmosphere allows no matter the look to immerse you which is what immersion does makes you hold up your disbelief. The same with the alien & Predator ones. Its like Resident evil 1,2, 3 & Code Veronica which by todays standards don't look the best but they hold so much character that they just allow you to believe it is real for the moments you play. Which is why I'd rather games that look artistic to games that look realistic as why waste time on realism when you could make a great story or something.

this game had some amazing detail. back in the day i'd play the alien campaign with god mode on just to mess around and observe AI behaviour. one standout detail was that while most marines would panic at the mere sight of you, some would be brave and stand their ground no matter what.
another AMAZING thing was with the androids; one had a rifle and was firing at me. i cut off one arm. it dropped the rifle and pulled out a pistol instead, firing one-handed, and reloaded the pistol by putting it in its mouth sideways, changing the magazine and then pulling the slide with ITS TEETH. fucking awesome.

It was definitely one of those games that helped to build the foundation for many to come. It’s still my favorite out of the entire franchise by a landslide.

the thing that intrugued me a s a kid in the alien demo was the deformation from alien blood ,omg it was unreal for me to see that or the fact that marines could get hurt in your blood

The graphics are still good
People who can't judge graphics historically know nothing about graphics.
The lighting, level design and little gameplay details like the dismemberment, the alien blood and etc are unbelievable for the time.
This game, F.E.A.R., Crysis, Mirror's Edge etc will always look good and have amazing graphics.
