This message will go down in history as one of the," greatest speeches of all time". Greta Thunberg told the truth as no one in that room ever has. To be told by such a young woman that the worlds greatest powers and leaders are wrong and that they know it, took exceptional courage. She essentially told them that they are all cowards and fools. Our time on this planet is up and it's now or never! The standing ovation by the very people she was speaking of is proof positive that everything she discussed is true and is happening now. Hopefully the humility results in big bold moves as soon as these leaders leave the room. Enough is enough. "We see through all of you lies" she said. A very wise and brave young woman. Bravo!
And adults are worried that new generation is irresponsible .
For some context, The R20 Austrian World Summit is organized by the nonprofit R20 and is a long-term initiative to create a network platform that will help regions, states and cities implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals and meet the global climate protection targets outlined in the Paris Agreement. For further context, R20 is a not-for-profit international organization founded in 2011 by former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger in cooperation with a number of leading regions and NGO’s, the United Nations, Development Banks, Clean-Tech companies, and Academia.
Summary of her talk:
(1) We need to call this an emergency.
(2) Most people don't know the basic facts about climate change.
(3) Leaders (Presidents, politicians, CEOs, celebrities, journalists) have failed to properly inform the public about climate change.
(4) This is the biggest crisis humanity has faced.

The phenomenon Greta Thunberg is sixteen years old. Sixteen years. High time for taking not only her topics seriously and get emotionel about it but also take Thunberg herself seriously as a wake up call. Do not let her stand up there alone - please help her - in order to save what is left to save of planet earth and to save it now. Together we can do it but we HAVE to act NOW !

We needed this speech decades ago , it’s too late to save the entire world .
As an Australian I’ve personally been effected by climate change and we need to do much more to help ourselves and each other in a selfless way .
The media distracts us with minial issues and irrelevant concepts .
Sadly we all know its happening but somewhere along the way from being a child to becoming an adult we seem to only care about money and lose our grasp on whats really important in life. And it isnt work.
This will go down in history as one of the most important speeches ever delivered.

The best way to thank Greta and the young people of the world for what they are doing, is to confront this GLOBAL climatic disaster problem with urgency.
Inform people with the science evidences and facts, as much as possible;
personally reduce the use of fossil fuels, while we have to do a faster transition to green energies, away from fossil fuels;
We can influence a lot others and the World leaders via voting and speaking loud, via showing the facts.
We need to act with high priority on this, as soon as possible, each of us has to do his/her part.
Greta sincerity touches our Hearts. She is wise and true. And impressively focussed.
I thank her and all the millions of young people which are sacrificing themselves, and are able to think to their future on a global scale.
But let's not focus on Greta alone, let's not focus on the movement of millions of people:
let's focus on the problem which they want to point at, saying that 'the house is on fire':
it is happening in front of our very eyes, and confirmed by SOLID science.
Please focus on the climatic changes science and the foreseen consequences:
if and when we will hit the roof of CO2 concentration in air we will trigger unstoppable,
self-propelled temperature increases on our planet, and we will not be able to do anything.
We need now to solicit action at work, in our institutes, in the society, ringing the emergency bell.
We can solve this only if we unite globally to reduce and eventually stop the use of fossil fuels.
We can change things still, but only if we understand the urgency of it and act now. Not tomorrow.
We have to help our countries meet the Paris agreement as top priority.
The richest and fast emerging countries and their citizens pollute the most and have to act first.
There are no global laws, and we have a global problem with CO2.
Only a PEACEFUL but very focussed global movement can solicit
concerted action to reduce CO2 and find stable alternatives to fossil fuels, in energy production.
The temperature increase problem is originated by CO2, is in the energy production methods used in the last 200 years.
It should be possible to find several alternatives if we search hard.
Mankind is 'one' on this boat we call Earth, and we are 'one' with Nature. This is an undeniable fact.
We breath the same air as the chinese, the indians, the russians, the Eskimo.
We need to change our mentality to address this problem, for a global, long term, wise action.
Please everyone take part of this global change with concrete personal actions,
and soliciting local, national actions, if you understand its urgency.
Activate your beautiful person on this, don't stay passive or hopeless waiting.
Otherwise the problems which will appear will wipe out our 'normal' life in this and next generations, in unpredictable ways.
Read the IPCC report 2019 and the publications of scientific evidence in Nature, for example. It is all in internet.
Trust the thousands of scientists ringing the alarm bell.
Greta and the millions of young people are only amplifying their ringing bell, for a global wake up call.
This who writes, is a senior Astrophysicist which loves this blue Planet, our home.
