@oneedgyboi606 if youre using the torid incarnon, what utility is the book providing? Lol. You have to swap to it and use it to get any value, when you could just.. keep clearing the room with torid. Melee utility weapons like the praedos and furax, as well as arcanes like dexterity, provide *passive* bonuses. Thats what makes them useful.
@@kingkino2116 you literally press swap, press alt fire, and press swap again. You don't have to fire the book at all because it regenerates automatically over time. It takes less than a second and gives you 10 energy a second. Are you trolling or just slow?
Grimoire is a good addition. It brings utility to your weapon set up which is DMG/Utility. Before the grimoire, the only efficient weapon set up you could have was DMG/AOE, DMG/Other status DMG, or DMG/Primer.
I believe that is correct, as that is how both Seismic Bond and Pax Bolt behave. The latter even gives both efficiency and strength, and the strength will snapshot while the effect of the efficiency will go away once Pax Bolt buff ends. I think ability duration also snapshots even on channeled abilities so if you don't want to whip out the book for the buff as often you could use the duration invocation and build more for efficiency on your frame in order to maximize how much you minimize your channeled ability's drain.
Wow I always just assumed it snapshots since ever other thing does... That's actually frustrating that it's the only one that dosent. Or does range not snapshay either since duration and strength definitely seem to.
I think you're spot on about people not liking it due to not having the mods. I just came back after 2 months, got it and started the newest content and wasn't a fan of it. I didn't even know the mods existed until I saw your video. I think this is definitely a primary reason for the discontent for a lot of people.
It's always nice to get weapons whose role is actual utility like the Scourge Prime or the Praedos and it's even better when they're solid on their own. Doesn't really need to be a room nuker or enemy disintegrator to be useful that way.
Granted, the Praedos is still excellent in the damage department too, but I have to agree the extra mobility from it is just so difficult for me to pass up.
While it doesn't need to be the room nuker 3000, it at least needs to be Mr. Plow (infinite body punch through or something that helps hit several targets consistently) to be competitive on this horde shooter. Sure, you can do that with the alt fire, but the damage is not that great. The grimoire is mostly for utility since it sucks at killing, and I understand those who hate it because their kills plummet when they start using it on this horde shooter.
I'm glad you're back and feeling better Mr. Zime! Always excited to watch your new uploads, this one especially because i did not touch that book at all after leveling, seems like worth getting into it!
Gauss really works well with this and the duration-boosting invocation. His fire rate buff really improves the charge rate of the secondary fire and he wants as much duration as he can get.
I love the support aspect and value of the Grimoire. Think its an excellent addition to the game. Agree with your point of that some of its factors being active by just having it equipped instead of firing it would be a game changing buff for many frames.
I think that the book provides a much needed utility for non-support frames who don't typically run with a support backing them up. Even for support frame mains (like myself), the book does provide an extension to their utility prowess. I don't use it very often, but I do enjoy it and it does make an impact on the sessions I bring it on.
I think in general I feel like I want my warframe builds to work without using a super specific weapon with a super specific build. It is pretty funny on fire rate spammers like Gauss and the (much better than blades) Merulina Guardian Yarelis.
Sure, everyone wants their Warframes to to work without needing the Grimoire or it's mods. And fortunately they do! The Grimoire and Tome mods just make them better.
I agree with your words about players getting used to the power of Incarnons. I've been a bit confused by the performances of some weapons such as Staltha, Battacor, Secondary Tombfinger, Sepulcrum, even my old favorite Trumna lately. But it is true that Incarnon weapons are the endgame and that explains the power difference. It is also worth noting that getting headshots is not always easy especially in squads, or depending of your playstyle (running around with Gauss while seeking for heads isn't super comfortable). I've noticed that doing the Gargoyle's Cry event with Latron Incarnon is sometimes a bore because you just don't have the time to find enough enemies heads to charge your Incarnon. If the Grimoire doesn't kill fast enough, there are plenty of solutions to make it viable and it will buff you in return. Annihilating 20 level 200 SP heavy gunners in seconds shouldn't be the standard. If a weapon is able to do that, it's just super busted.
the grimoire basically being forced to use Corrosive more or less doesnt show that it itself is weak, but how HORRIBLE of a decision it was to make corrosive not full-strip armor and instead lock it behind shards. Its another great example of DE taking away something we like then selling us back the bandaid. Its nearly as bad as the current situation with Augment mods being much needed buffs or cut features that should be part of the frames to begin with, but instead DE strips and sells it back as a mod slot filler band-aid.
You lose the bonus weapon damage from having corrosive on your weapon when the armor is fully stripped, leaving corrosive as just dead weight. I think it's perfectly fine and the tiny amount of armor left over really should not be getting in your way anyway.
@@SmoochyRoo it very very clearly does get in the way if you actually watch the video. The difference in damage with and without armor is pretty significant. The damage bonus is not out-damaging the damage done with 0 armor
It's tricky. I get why people would use it and say "It bad" because it does feel a little weaker. And I don't think "Just cast a buff" is useful advice as not every frame makes use of buffs that affect guns that way... However, the tome mods REALLY help frames that cast buffs with the extra strength or duration, and then you get the Canticle effects on top, and I feel it's a really compelling weapon for a select few frames. And while I love how robust Warframe can be and how sometimes these niche builds can form, the majority of players just want to pick a frame they like, a gun they like, a gun they like and a melee they like and don't really want to start mixing and matching and strategisingtoo hard. Even without the buggy canticle interaction, I've had a lot of fun running Grimoire on Gyre, a frame I kind of ignored until recently.
I went with full utility and charging speed of the alt fire, using as much multishot and fire rate i could cram in while still modding it for viral so when enemies are armor stripped it has a chance to get kills for the canticle, but that's not something i focus on. The duration one is helpful for my frames that have wrathful advance on it, so i can make it last longer as the duration is a bit on the low side. Efficiency is great for snapshotting channeled ability costs like gloom. You know, until DE someday makes it so you can no longer snapshot stats for channeled abilities and losing buffs automatically lowers the power of the ability. But still.
The real kneecapper for the grimoire is that the mods - which are the entire reason you use it - are like a 5% drop chance after like 20 minutes of the Warframe equivalent of unskippable ads. Nova can't speed it up, map-nuking Gara cant speed it up, your skill does not matter, you will do nothing for 15+ minutes and you will be happy. Even if its not 20 minutes, it FEELS like 30. And then you might not even get the mod you wanted - or god forbid, you get a dupe of one you dont want. And then I look at Netracells - an incredibly fun mode that IS affected in speed by skill, and the rewards from that are a bunch of stuff you can just already get from Bird 3. They hardcore dropped the ball with this. I wanna use The Book, but I dont wanna spend 4 weeks grinding out The Book
The thing I like about the book is that its the first secondary weapon reward from a main story quest. When Reb floated that story skip idea one of my concerns as a pub player was that even if they solved the mods and builds issues those players would still be rolling in with their Lato or Kunai. Book is strong enough in normal path stuff to be respectable and its got that utility on top of it.
The mod drop rate from the mirror defense mode is way worse than brozime makes it seem. If you're a casual player like I am who has been playing almost since launch, realistically you have an hour or two of time to play every couple days. Playing mirror defense to get a single roll at the tome mods takes something like 13 minutes then another 3 or 4 minutes per round after that if you keep playing (which you'll have to do alone because every squad leaves after one roll of rotation c). Each roll feels like you have a 5% chance at getting any tome mod, then you can get any of the 8 mods available which probably won't be the one you want. This means you effectively have something like a 0.6% chance of getting Xata Invocation every 15 minutes since you have to wait for load time. It's insane to me that DE just did an entire update on QOL and they decided to just not implement a QOL change that they made for citrine's mirror defense mode and conjunction survival (where you get currency to buy the drops instead of relying on a lootbox). To make things worse, xata invocation (which is what everyone wants), has been increasing in price on warframe market. Last time I checked at peak hours when prices should be cheapest, it was going for nearly the price of the entire set from the in game platinum market which is just astounding that this system was even implemented into the game. I was lucky enough to get xata invocation as my first tome mod after playing like 20 rounds of mirror defense, which was horribly boring because mirror defense is basically survival minus the requirement to go kill enemies. If you only use this weapon for energy regen and don't want to install 6 forma on it, you can put on firestorm and max fire rate which basically means that every time you see enemies, you can launch the alt fire and almost instantly recharge the alt fire because max fire rate. Firestorm serves to hit more enemies with the alt fire. Realistically once you pass beyond normal star chart, unless you put 6 forma on this thing, the grimoire is going to do no damage whatsoever, so there is little purpose for most people to mod it for damage
some of your numbers are way off. Mirror Defense is a fixed 5:30min per round, and follows the AABC-AABC standard reward pattern. its a fixed 22min per C rotation reward (plus loading times if you leave and restart), with no way of speeding up the mode and no real reason to collect stuff either like on the Belric/Rania version. each of the new mods is 5% in rotation C, which means you have a 40% chance of getting some sort of grimoire mod, and a 5% chance at a specific one. still absolutely miserable (legitimately worse than khora systems which are 20min/11.28% droprate and were already widely considered frustrating to get), but far from a 0.6% chance
Re: the power level of incarnons changing how players perceive new weapons: Whenever I try something new in Warframe now there comes a time when I wonder why I would do this new thing if I could just use the torrid incarnon.
I think it's important to put the grimoire into context, most players starting the game today, will probably get to whispers in the wall before they unlock steel path, incarnon weapons right now are at THE END of the game and this is far before that, I don't think any quest weapon will compare to incarnons ever again and honestly I kinda hope that stays the case, I think the weapon is pretty good at the point that most people will unlock it, and for us veterans, has the invocations and canticles to make it useful utility late game (also DE please make more incarnons so we can have even more variety at the end game)
For people using this for the invocations, if you deal damage in operator mode with your scaffold (alt-fire) with the book in your warframe's hand, it will still activate the invocation. This way you can always trigger the invocations without needing to wait for the recharge.
A book that fires rapid lightning sparks How about a book that sprays a stream of fire A book that launches large, slow icicles A book that lobs bouncing, toxic blobs
Im trying to use the grimoire on Citrine, and modify the build to use Galvanized Shot to take advantage of Prismatic Gem's priming effect. Not sure what to replace out with this build, everything seems essential.
I myself really like the Grimoire. Its got a nice feel to it and im glad I got it. I cant wait to see more of them and this one is an ass kicker. Its not game breaking. But its pretty damned potent in my hands and i did not build like you did at all.
I wouldn't dump on this thing if half it's special mods weren't "on kill" if this thing can get kills to activate those then I don't even need it - legit anything else in my toolbox could have done the job. if it wants to be a support slot then let it hold more pages than 1 of each and re-work the tome mods to be passives or not on-kill
You don't need to get kills with the weapon from what I understand, just tag the enemies with it So for example just shoot the alt fire down a hallway then use your Warframe abilities to kill the enemies and it should be ok, the armor strip one would be the most helpful you just need to keep the grimoire in your hands
Leaning purely into the invocation seems to be the way to go, at least in my opinion. By running all of the fire rate and multishot mods you can charge the orb extremely fast. Then you can fire it to gain a large amount of energy or strength. On frames that primarily kill with abilities, or really any Warframe that doesn't care about dealing damage with a secondary, this is pretty much best in slot. I run it on Titania with the power strength boost and throw down a Zenurik wellspring for a nice 80% increase in strength that lasts as long as you stay in razorwing. There are many other notable mentions as well, like using it on wisp before creating your reservoir or using it on Sevagoth before swapping to Shadow (which isn't even inconvenient as you have to fill his meter anyway.) If you're feeling particularly spicy you could add 60% duration prior to refreshing your abilities as Octavia or prior to using vast untime on Xaku.
For high level enemies, you only need to have the grimoire active when enemies die to proc the canticle mods. Apply slash proc or other DoT with primary or melee and then swap to grimoire to reap the benefit of the canticle mods.
Brozime I would very much recommend you give secondary encumber on Furis incarnon a go. It works super well and with the new radiation mod you can get 3 elements before encumber starts procing which already makes it better than hornet strike. (corr/viral heat and rad). Encumber also lets you proc the 1st evo that needs electricity without actually modding for it.
I elected to grind for the mods against most peoples suggestion of just buying them. I actually enjoy mirror defense. I just wish there was an invocation for range.
Range is capped for a reason. DE would have to change how it's calculated before they ever increase it, as radiuses increase effective range exponentially.
See, now I loved it when I got it. It was outdoing my base Soma (it’s been a while, don’t laugh too hard!) and carried me through the questline, then farming other stuff. Now that I know about the other bits, it’s going to be fantastic
I use it for archon hunts 😂 You can also increase it's alt radius & clear a whole path or doorway. Increasing it's multishot will refill your charge like crazy. I'm just spamming alt fire.
It's not even that the RNG is bad. It really only gives Tome mods, Mandonel parts and tops up your Stela if you're going to be fusing shards often... And those all also come from Alchemy, which is faster and you can go get a Murmur fight and some Voca from there too.
Big caveat is that this entire weapon is basically built around having the invocation / canticle mods. The book without those is just an "okay" secondary that won't even reach the top 20-30 of good secondaries. And the mods are really quite painful to actually obtain, with a steep grind/RNG (it's a 5% drop chance from rotation C in a defence gamemode that'll be unable to have matchmaking in a few weeks - good luck!). Just xata invocation sells for 90p - you can buy several weapons that are better for that price alone, disregarding the canticle which also costs ~25p.
Remember guys Hydroid can armor strip at 10 corrosive stacks without green shards since his new passive makes his first corrosive proc temporarily remove 50% armor upfront
I want a version of this that throws out vertical and horrizantal slashes. Also who else thinks this doesnt do enough to separate itself from kunai besides a fancy mod slot.
It’s an interesting choice for a weapon although they might need to change the canticle cause again I wouldn’t really be killing enemies with it when I proc better effects that could deal better dmg the lacteum is one of ‘em so they could either make it so that it procs on elements or abilities
It gives you energy. If you need energy and don’t have a channeled skill and also don’t have a better secondary to use, then use it. Seems really straightforward.
Trading Primed Pistol Gambit for Creeping Bullseye is a wild take. 187% crit vs 200% in exchange for 20% less fire rate on this is wacky asf. You lose 20% of your status procs per second, 20% damage per second, and probably most egregiously 20% of your speed to build up cascadia flare.
I think the book should ahve been a new kit weapon, outside that its kinda underwhelming it is either soemthing youll never use because other seconderys are better at clearing enemies or youll use it for the memes or to minmax soemthing that very small extra step, overall the mods for it are just sacrificing a weapon slot for a modslot on your warframe
8:59 I would actually like to convince everyone here to look into Secondary Shiver. Flare is good if you're running a Fire build though. On Frost specifically, that and the CC/SC augment with his 4 make something weaker like the Grimoire hit *insanely* hard. Stronger weapons that you can do single target damage with, can also rather easily hit multi-million crits this way. Otherwise, you can get a raw 405% damage increase with 9 stacks of Frost status. You can pair this with armor strip tome mod and Corrosive or viral status (depending on the build). Gauss can also lay on the frost *and* boost the fire rate rather high, with some minor crowd control succ from his augment, so I also recommend it on him. Unfortunately for my heavy Nezha use on anything even slightly difficult, this build I concocted does not work, and the one in the video is better suited for him. Nezha hoola hoop can debuff a fair bit though so Duration/Strength or armor strip would be the go-to on him.
It’s my new favourite secondary. Not only is it a decent primer, but xata invocation makes energy upkeep extremely easy. Better than arcane energise imo due to its ease of access and use.
My opinion on this weapon was colored by it being 1 forma unleveled garbage against the enemies in the mission immediately after that required you to equip it. When I get around to trying it fully built that opinion will probably change, but I still don't expect it to do much.
Ensnare is a REALLY good combo I've found, not a big shock that the AOE book fits well with the CC ability but it was a lot better than I thought it would be.
I built mine as a status primer and buffing thing more. I did primed fulmination to hit more enemies with the alt fire and put the new radiation mod as well as either viral or corrosive and two augur mods for longer status and some damage at all. Other than that, it's just fire rate and I run energy regen and fire rate for the tome mods and lethal torrent for the last spot for multishot and fire rate on the tome itself. So total, it can give shields from energy spent, energy regen, fire rate, three statuses since it has innate electric. And it only takes two forma to do
Hey Broz, good to have you back and hood you’re better! I do want to disagree on one point: the Nataruk absolutely slaps, the Grimoire is nothing compared to it! Visually, I‘ve seen people complain about the book overriding their frames animations, and I‘m personally not a fan of the massive screenshake. That being said, my only real complain with it is that it doesn‘t deal Void damage; I mean come on, it‘s literal void magic xD
The people hating it for the lower damage confuse me. I rarely need all of my weapon slots for a mission, so the obvious utility of blasting some guys at the start is useful enough on it's own, let alone everything else it can do.
Anyone here after Dante was shown. Unless his exalted version or Dante himself is somehow nerfed into oblivion in comparison, than Dante is going to be an absolutely monster with this class of weapon. I'm getting possible (more hope than belief) Nidus vibes. On release Nidus was a force to be reckoned with!!! So much so I put him (and the helminth kubrow) eventually down for a while. He was just steamrolling everything I came across. We will see soon enough. 😎
The Grimoire is best used for any Warframe that likes to spam or Channel. Netra is great for Channels that have a high upkeep like Ember, Xata is great for one and dones like Hydroid, Vome is good for builds that don't have room for Blind Rage. The Canticles kinda suck at higher levels since they only work on Tome kills, but if you really want to use one I'd either go for Fass or Lohk. Fass if you want survivability with Shield Gate, Lohk if you want everyone to kill faster.
The only buff i think this weapon deserves is a larger AoE to make spreading the assists needed for canticle buffs easier. An extra meter would be lovely.
Grimore definitely feels like a new player weapon. Personally, I have found zero reason to use it since I have many other ways to generate energy and far more damaging secondaries, but MAN I would have killed to have this thing while I was grinding for those items
I've noticed that no warframe has an animation for it... Well there's one. Dagath, but it's bugged last i checked I do hope they give frames their own animations (given that it isn't a melee weapon) with the Grimoire Cause that would be really cool Haven't seen anyone mention this at all
I now have a way that enables energy regeneration without the use of the almighty ENERGY PADS- from my experience it when combined with Energy siphon works great! I just wish the alt-fire had a specific mod that sped up its recharge
I remember reading in the known issues list that this doesn't benefit from multishot. Can't remember if that wouldn't be fixed until the next actual update or what. Did you test this?
Questions , im farely new coming back into the new stuff so bare with me. What is snapshotting? & Second , i get the canticles dont work without using the grim. Is that the case for the ability effect mods as well? I finished this quest and didnt even know it had unique mods
Snapshot refers to a common game logic in wich the game looks for the stats only once, this means that if a skill last 20 seconds and upon casting you have a +90 strength, the game will do the calculations of skill with +90 for its duration, even if you get a - 50 strength because the game only looks what your stats were during casting, all debuffs afterwards are ignored.
I do think calling this a story weapon is underselling the expectations a bit. Like even just the Second Dream gave us the "after two months of playing warframe you unlock character creation" meme - how many hundred hours deep in the game do you need to be to reach Whispers in the Walls? If you're not specifically rushing there with prior experience of how the game works? And the same update that gave us Grimoire also gave us level 250 weekly content so the whole "for normal content it's okay" argument falls a bit flat to me. What is the point of a weapon that provides buffs (and especially the Canticles giving buffs on kill!) if it doesn't really function as a weapon in the kind of content where you'd actually need those buffs? Basically this thing is cool as hell and I'll be using it in serious content occasionally but I'm hoping this one day becomes the Javlok of tome weapons. Once that happens I will officially have zero complaints because there will be an actual path for going from the cool story weapon to the powerful spellbook weapon we all want!
Regarding buffs, I'm not asking "which frames need these buffs!" I'm asking "what situation would you need these buffs and can you even play using the book in that content". Like sure Wisp would love another 60% free power strength for bigger numbers - but she doesn't need it until enemy levels reach the point where the book's damage falls off a cliff. Once you'd be able to feel a difference in performance, the book is reduced to pressing alt-fire on cooldown. Canticles are more finicky than that. Not only do they require that you be 1) holding the book, they also require that 2) you damage the enemies with the book and even after that they 3) need to be still suffering from book damage when they die. As the book's primary fire is basically single target and therefore not practical for marking enemies for ability kills, I think most people will be mainly relying on proccing DOTs with the secondary fire for this. So again, you're just going to be "spamming" alt-fire. I don't understand why there's so much resistance to acknowledging the gulf between what we were promised (a spellbook secondary that has interplay with warframes) and what we received (a single-button press once every 20 seconds that gives us a buff). I just want DE to stop giving us weapons that kick ass aesthetically and conceptually but are barely-viable statwise - I want to fucking hit people with War! I want to destroy the Murmur with Grimoire's power! But for some people fall over themselves to shut us up for daring to ask that these weapons be as cool to play with as they are to look at.
Haven't played for a while so I don't have most of the recent stuffs here. I've a question, how's this weapon as a primer? And can it be a primer while also being the energy battery and armor stripper?
loving this bug I'm having (not loving it) where ALL my primary and secondary weapons are missing their Arcane slots. like they are just NOT showing up as a clickable thing. sent a ticket about this, this bug happened to me once i did the cross save merge so.. hope they can fix it. right now im locked out of using arcanes for primary and secondary and it honestly sucks.
yes more creative weapons, i know not thinking has over time become warframes bread and butter but more thoughtful weapons that are fun to use. id love a spell book that summons allies, engage my brain and make me think creatively how things can be used and built. i know thats a long shot but i think warframe is leaning that way
Since I got the Grimoire it has been stuck to my secondary slot. I built it full utility just to charge it faster. My Primary, Melee and Warframe do enough damage. I can sacrifice one slot to boost my kit.
Even if you got every mod in the minimum amount of runs, that'd still be over 3 hours of mirror defence to get the set. If you had perfect luck for the first 7 mods, then average luck for the 8th, that'd be well over 7 hours on average.
Tome/grimoire mages are some of my favourite magic styles in fantasy I put 4 forma in that damn thing immediately. All I need now is an Arcane/warlock/sorcerer style Warframe that goes with it.
@@epsilon1572 Sorta kinda but Alchemy is a much faster mode and you can still go grab Voca and a murmur fight from there too. Also, imo once you get Discipline's Merit and Opportunity's Reach you're set, because imo the rest aren't as good (Dreamer's Wrath looks good on paper but the damage buff only applies to Tennokai and is 20% instead of 32% for some weird reason so needs to be fixed before it's worth slotting)
Personally, the mods should have been given to us. 120 plat isn’t much but still. The only useful thing about it is locked behind the mods. For when you get it it’s a great weapon, strong and useful cause infinite ammo, but for anyone above mr14 the symp is gammacore is a better weapon and better utility weapon
One important note is that since this weapon has infinite ammo and never needs to reload, it scales with fire rate really, really well.

I usually go DMG/DMG
AFAIK, channeled abilities live update their energy drain based on your efficiency, so it doesn't snapshot. It does, however, snapshot your strength.
Ah I had not tried this yet at time of recording but you're correct that it doesn't work like Strength as I thought unfortunately
Wow I always just assumed it snapshots since ever other thing does... That's actually frustrating that it's the only one that dosent. Or does range not snapshay either since duration and strength definitely seem to.
Efficiency doesn’t snapshot, but you know what does? The „abilities cost no energy“ void buff.
@@mayhemivory5730 wait what?! can you snapshot Ember's 2 to never drain energy this way?
I think you're spot on about people not liking it due to not having the mods. I just came back after 2 months, got it and started the newest content and wasn't a fan of it. I didn't even know the mods existed until I saw your video. I think this is definitely a primary reason for the discontent for a lot of people.
It would make so much more sense to have the canticle mods work on abilities, it’s a literal spellbook!
It's always nice to get weapons whose role is actual utility like the Scourge Prime or the Praedos and it's even better when they're solid on their own. Doesn't really need to be a room nuker or enemy disintegrator to be useful that way.
Granted, the Praedos is still excellent in the damage department too, but I have to agree the extra mobility from it is just so difficult for me to pass up.
yeah i passed on all the tennokai w.e mod cuz im just using Prados as speed stick@@snakeman830
The Grimoire has become my go-to on Yareli because I hate aiming precisely on Merulina and Critical Flow boosts the DPS a significant bit.
I wish the book was another weapon that went to level 40
As a support-oriented player I personally love the grimoire. Hoping for more unique support-esque weapons in the future!
We love casting spells
I went with full utility and charging speed of the alt fire, using as much multishot and fire rate i could cram in while still modding it for viral so when enemies are armor stripped it has a chance to get kills for the canticle, but that's not something i focus on.
The duration one is helpful for my frames that have wrathful advance on it, so i can make it last longer as the duration is a bit on the low side. Efficiency is great for snapshotting channeled ability costs like gloom.
You know, until DE someday makes it so you can no longer snapshot stats for channeled abilities and losing buffs automatically lowers the power of the ability. But still.
I'm pretty sure it already doesn't snapshot efficiently for channeled abilities
Just buy them off others IMO.
Anyone else getting TF2 engineer "Short Circut" vibes from the grimoire?
I think it's important to put the grimoire into context, most players starting the game today, will probably get to whispers in the wall before they unlock steel path, incarnon weapons right now are at THE END of the game and this is far before that, I don't think any quest weapon will compare to incarnons ever again and honestly I kinda hope that stays the case, I think the weapon is pretty good at the point that most people will unlock it, and for us veterans, has the invocations and canticles to make it useful utility late game (also DE please make more incarnons so we can have even more variety at the end game)
Its not a weapon. Its a support item. A damn good one too. Ngl, I bought the mods with my war chest of plat.
Shadow Wizard Money Gang
been loving the novel adaptation of arcane energize recently
remember when we all thought they were going to nerf the Kuva nukor but instead they just power crept it
I hope you feel better soon man great video
Me, a MR30 that knows all this.
Also me : OMG Brozime Content
Meanwhile I’m MR 30+ and feel like I’m still baffled by some of the mechanics of this game
For people using this for the invocations, if you deal damage in operator mode with your scaffold (alt-fire) with the book in your warframe's hand, it will still activate the invocation. This way you can always trigger the invocations without needing to wait for the recharge.
Invocation being the secondary fire?
A book that fires rapid lightning sparks
How about a book that sprays a stream of fire
A book that launches large, slow icicles
A book that lobs bouncing, toxic blobs
Im trying to use the grimoire on Citrine, and modify the build to use Galvanized Shot to take advantage of Prismatic Gem's priming effect. Not sure what to replace out with this build, everything seems essential.
I myself really like the Grimoire. Its got a nice feel to it and im glad I got it. I cant wait to see more of them and this one is an ass kicker. Its not game breaking. But its pretty damned potent in my hands and i did not build like you did at all.
I wouldn't dump on this thing if half it's special mods weren't "on kill"
if this thing can get kills to activate those then I don't even need it - legit anything else in my toolbox could have done the job.
if it wants to be a support slot then let it hold more pages than 1 of each and re-work the tome mods to be passives or not on-kill
You don't need to get kills with the weapon from what I understand, just tag the enemies with it
So for example just shoot the alt fire down a hallway then use your Warframe abilities to kill the enemies and it should be ok, the armor strip one would be the most helpful you just need to keep the grimoire in your hands
my new fav secondary, inf ammo, nuts fire rate and a great alt fire with a lot of build choices
That’s what he was using on the old build
Used to use that and it's extremely good but the new build is for casual level-cap runs which will get its own video
I elected to grind for the mods against most peoples suggestion of just buying them. I actually enjoy mirror defense. I just wish there was an invocation for range.
Range is capped for a reason. DE would have to change how it's calculated before they ever increase it, as radiuses increase effective range exponentially.
This iteration of mirror defense is far better, but it still feels bleh.
See, now I loved it when I got it. It was outdoing my base Soma (it’s been a while, don’t laugh too hard!) and carried me through the questline, then farming other stuff.
Now that I know about the other bits, it’s going to be fantastic
Glad you're feeling better!
I use it for archon hunts 😂
You can also increase it's alt radius & clear a whole path or doorway. Increasing it's multishot will refill your charge like crazy. I'm just spamming alt fire.
Firestorm?
If only the RNG on the mirror defense wasn't so rough. Really cool addition to the game though, hopefully they make more spellbooks.
I feel the need to mention Ivara can break 90% of the game with her projectile control ability. Floating headshot orb of doom
Glad you're feeling better
And it only takes two forma to do
there should be a little option to click or a button to hold to be able to see a detailed description of a mod and how it works/it's effects.
The book is a lot of fun I think some people just need to bring their expectations back down to earth with the rest of us.
The people hating it for the lower damage confuse me. I rarely need all of my weapon slots for a mission, so the obvious utility of blasting some guys at the start is useful enough on it's own, let alone everything else it can do.
fun stat for the corrosive dammage : you do more dommage to an ennemi with 13 stack of corrosion and heat than an enemie with 14 stack od corrosion
My only complaint is that I can't believe it doesn't flip one page per shot and riffle back through them when it reloads.
I mean c'mon.
Use it on a frame with a couple of the new green shards for more corrosive stacks, or on hydroid, gives the weapon innate armor strip.
The only buff i think this weapon deserves is a larger AoE to make spreading the assists needed for canticle buffs easier. An extra meter would be lovely.
I love the alternative fire. I can clear rooms in one shot with my setup
with Gauss Prime coming there's an argument for Ris Invocation if you want MORE , LONGER
Dagath, but it's bugged last i checked
I do hope they give frames their own animations (given that it isn't a melee weapon) with the Grimoire
Cause that would be really cool
Haven't seen anyone mention this at all
I now have a way that enables energy regeneration without the use of the almighty ENERGY PADS- from my experience it when combined with Energy siphon works great! I just wish the alt-fire had a specific mod that sped up its recharge
I remember reading in the known issues list that this doesn't benefit from multishot. Can't remember if that wouldn't be fixed until the next actual update or what. Did you test this?
Went from "Why You Would Use" to "Yall Fuckin With This or Nah?"
I just love that they called it grimoire and it's actually in the game and a gun, hint hint destiny.
Also it could maybe do with enemy lvl during the quest and them being no steel patch as well
Questions , im farely new coming back into the new stuff so bare with me.
But for some people fall over themselves to shut us up for daring to ask that these weapons be as cool to play with as they are to look at.
if there was a duviri flavored tome weapon than they could 100% do the Orowyrm breath attack for the secondary fire!
It's a book and I think it looks cool, and therefore I will use it.
Haven't played for a while so I don't have most of the recent stuffs here. I've a question, how's this weapon as a primer? And can it be a primer while also being the energy battery and armor stripper?
As far as I tested, you could have heat+corrosive+radiation on it
loving this bug I'm having (not loving it) where ALL my primary and secondary weapons are missing their Arcane slots. like they are just NOT showing up as a clickable thing. sent a ticket about this, this bug happened to me once i did the cross save merge so.. hope they can fix it.
right now im locked out of using arcanes for primary and secondary and it honestly sucks.
yes more creative weapons, i know not thinking has over time become warframes bread and butter but more thoughtful weapons that are fun to use. id love a spell book that summons allies, engage my brain and make me think creatively how things can be used and built. i know thats a long shot but i think warframe is leaning that way
Why would you ever build it for damage? I took it for a multishot / fire rate weapon for support purposes.
I wish you didn't need to have the book out to gather Invocation stacks, I'd like to be able to fire the alt-fire and swap off to another weapon.
Finally, I can be a proper space wizard.
It's a top utility weapon. Why r people complaining? I get its dmg isnt top tier but u have the the frame, primary or melee for that.
Hopefully they'd make it so just holding the book out makes the canticles active. The wording does make it seem like that's the case but eh.
Tome/grimoire mages are some of my favourite magic styles in fantasy I put 4 forma in that damn thing immediately. All I need now is an Arcane/warlock/sorcerer style Warframe that goes with it.
Harrow or wisp both work thematically and massively buff the book.
@@zangetsu5221 that’s true though I didn’t enjoy playing them last time I played and I still need to get their primes
@@houghtonjojo8944 valid.
Now if only the farm for the mods wasn't rng hell :(
is the farm for the tennokai mods as bad as the book mods? ive been considering buying them all from the market since theyre only 100p lol
Farm plat any number of ways and buy the pack at this point... did it for tennokai because that gamemode is atrocious and doesn't have solo extract.
This looks like an excellent secondary for vauban.
