I have kids and I understand needing a night out with no kids. And I've been on the other side were for whatever reason I can't leave kids home. If I deem it inappropriate or just a bad idea to take them even if they are welcome then I apologize and skip the event. For 1st story it would've been best for op to establish beforehand that they wanted adult only girls night from the start instead of waiting to bail without telling them why.
I feel like most of these could be solved with one solid convo. It was literally the lack of communication(leading to assumptions on both sides) that created the awkward situation.
The one about the sisters was sad, yes the mom was being an asshole, but that poor younger sister. The older sister doesn’t have any obligation to her, but wow that hurt to hear the younger sister say that :(
AITAH baby shower!! Dudette, I freaking lost it 😂😂😂😂. Sure that was a real deal??! The “sister” and the “mom” are both clandestine scorpion women!! The author was direct, forthright and sounds like she’s well in control of her life and her life decisions. No info from the biological dad….so….that says a lot about those family dynamics! Still 😂😂😂.

I’ve see the first two and it could’ve just been better if people communicated with their friends better 😭😭😭 First one if the “ahole” told her friends they just wanted to spent time with them alone and not have the kids around.. maybe they’ll take it to consideration Second one: if the girl told her friend her car is broken down and needs a lift to work THROUGH TEXT! the guy/girl would stop what theyre doing and help 😭
Lucy is too damn sensitive & selfish! She has no idea what a real emergency is & acts like an inconvenience is a life or death situation. I would have done the same thing as the guy & slept like a baby
1 - NTA - parent group is not setting and/or breaking expectations, OP is polite 2 - NTA - friend didn’t respect “busy” they can’t expect someone who is busy to drop everything and give them a ride. OP was rude but apologized for it 3 - NTA obviously 4 - YTA - OP was overly rude to the bride-to-be for no reason if the drama doesn’t actually involve her. I stopped watching because i have to do something else, fun asmr content though :)
People like Lucy in story 2 drive me crazy! crying wolf and being way too sensitive when her friend has important things to do instead of trying to figure our whether "911" actually means emergency or just an overdramatized minor inconvenience 🙄🙄🙄
I think the one that doesn’t want the kids at all get togethers I understand but also she knows they have kids so sometimes she needs to get over it for the sake of spending time with her friends there is going to be a lot of times they have to bring them I like kids so it doesn’t bother me but I also get wanting just adult time as well
Step sister is totally the A-hole. If she really has been in the stepsister’s life since she was 3 years old (18 minus 15 years of being a family), it’s pretty messed up. Sounds like she held onto her jealousy of her kid stepsister getting attention from Dad. Family therapy is desperately needed!
Sounds like my xdaughter the 1st one. She made her boyfriend ask his mom to leave their house. Not her house. Mom n boyfriend's home. Not a nice person.
I can see both sides of the first story. Some mom's cannot always afford a sitter, or they may have no one they trust enough to watch their child. It's not that they don't want adult conversations and visits too, but kids always come first. I would suggest trying to compromise as much as possible.
Eh… she said the moms with kids have a a husband and at least 1 or 2 sets of grandparents that could do it. So the sitter isn’t the problem. This poster literally spends her whole work day with other peoples children & just wants free-time with no kids. 100% valid … and she’s tried to find compromises. In this situation there is no compromise because there’s no middle ground- you can’t bring half of a child. I think she should be honest with her friends about not wanting to be around their children and if they are unable to see her side then that’s unfortunate but she can find other friends who don’t bring their kids everywhere. 🫢
