    Thank you for this. I've been offered my first solo show next year in 2019 and I'm terrified - that I'll let them down or me down - or all of us. I've got a brain injury and find all this very difficult and stressful. I have never planned ANYTHING a year ahead (not who/how I am) and of course I might be dead! And since my brain injury I don't feel time passing (hard to explain) and get very confused if everything isn't clear and certain and true. It was my dream to do this, just hoping I can actually DO it and have enough GOOD work to show. Thanks.

      Thank you ItsDeborahNotDebbie - I'm still not sure it's true - no written confirmation, info etc. (but it's over a year away so no hurry) & maybe a joke?! I always work hard and HOPE things work out (and that others are honest and will do as they promise) but sometimes they don't but just have to make the best of it.

      As long as you enjoy yourself and put your heart into it, it should work out! Wishing you the best of luck with your journey! And if hurdles come your way or people try get in your way, pay no heed to them as you'll do the best work without them!

      Thank you again ItsDeborahNotDebbie you sound like a wise person who understands some of life's difficulties, therefore you also know that although I do know this (but thanks: I needed to hear/read it again... and again...) sometimes it's easier said than done = especially when people make the hurdles way too high on purpose & I can't find a way round them/get blocked at every turn. Plus I tend to work too hard and then not enjoy it - except maybe after IF the results are good enough. You know... All the best to you on whatever YOUR journey is, and its/your particular hurdles, hoping nobody puts them in your way intentionally.

      Dear Jenny. Thank you for your comment. I'm glad that you find the video useful. I really wish all the best for you. Keep working with your art, also even if theres no exhibition scheduled. Enjoy creating, this is so important, and will also keep your thoughts away from all the the worries regarding the brain injury. I wish you all the best.

    how to you normally choose a theme for the exhibition you are curating and how to you choose a place for the exhibition?

    • @carolinekrabbe
      @carolinekrabbe  4 роки тому

      You do not always need a theme when curating an exhibition, but it can help sometimes to determinate a size if you have a variety of artists participating to make the show more balanced. You could for example chose a theme like "Covid19", because it is something we all deal with right now, or anything else you think would make an interesting exhibition. The artists have a voice through their work which is great to bring out. So anything of which you would like to se their interpretation.
      Regarding the place, it can be a public space in your hometown, dont be afraid to ask. If you have got together a good project, usually you will get a positive answer to your exhibition-request. Sometimes it is also possible to make the show itinerary, so that the exhibition can travel from one place to another. It is worth it to work on this as well.
      I hope my answer was useful.
      Kind regards from Caroline

    Stay to reality? Come on! Than there is no style!

    • @carolinekrabbe
      @carolinekrabbe  5 років тому +1

      Hi Gheroghe! Thank you for your feedback. I guess your comment is referring to when I recommend not to Photoshop the images of your paintings so that they stay as close to reality as possible? What I'm saying is, that you want the photo of your painting to show it's accurate colors in the catalog.

      I think her reference to “reality“ was in being sure your photographs were true to the original work .

      Don't over saturate the colors. Get the truest representation of what the painting looks like hanging in the room.
