- Bigger ESC gave it a bit more RPM but I gtta figure out the motor heat issue..I'll open motor and add oil to bearings and get a proper dual fan motor heatsink.. I'll be adding the 43t steel spur along with the machined diff and motor mount..It will be chillin on the shelf for a month or so until those parts arrive from overseas as I have other projects to tend to in the meantime..All in all it's a good rig beside the transmitter lol..Stay tuned for more..God bless
A year later Amazon closed box $150 great upgrade keep up making the videos
Thank you
speaking of Hot Motors . We have been having issues with the cheaper 3000kv motors like the gool rc. Stock gearing in the redcat volcano we overheated and ruined two of them. Everything is rolling free. have another one installed now with a big heat sink with a fan mounted on it, also went back to the stock tires for now as the Duratrax ones I was running were much heavier, I ran it once on 2s so far it seems fine we'll see about 3s oh, I don't really want to drop the gearing
Never had one issue with gool rc motors.. This is a rig that cost me $150 im not about to put a $200 system in it lol..Its not getting crazy hot but hotter than id like it to be.. I'll clean it and lube bearings and go from there.. This is a heavy truck might need a longer can
@@philthyco1 yeah exactly, I don't want to dump a bunch of money into the Redcat either
@@SteadfastRC The volcano is light weight..I wonder why it's running hot? Ive had two and never a heat issue .. Although mine ran the stock rebranded Hobbywing systems ..I have the Wolverine/Dukono running the exact same system that im running in this truck ..On much higher gearing and no heat issue..When I ran a higher KV 540 in the wolverine it got hot though..The joys of RC.. Trouble shooting lol
@@philthyco1 I don't know, I was sure it was the motors but after hearing you had good luck with them I might just have to tear into it maybe I'm overlooking something that's binding or dragging. I'm running the castle Sidewinder 4 ESC so I'm not worried about that it runs super cool.
@@SteadfastRC Sidewinder 3 even with fan will cook eggs in a 4x4 MT though lol..I put it in my Tamiya buggy and it's perfect..Glad they got it sorted with the 4..Not much to bind up on the volcano..Direct drive all metal gears..Maybe a bad bearing? most people have good luck with gool rc motors it's the ESC's that are hit and miss.
cool rc and awesome run brother
Really smart to move the ESC to the back of the rig. I would've done the same exact thing. Outstanding price for this amazing rig.!! Almost sub 200 for a 1/10 scale rig.. Very nice.!! It's crazy how fast grass grows...lol
Gtta mow every week! Lol
Thank you
The 80amp made a difference. I think i have a couple of those 80amps you got too.
Yup they seem to work great in 10th scale MT's and SCT's
Jesus loves you !
🙏🏼
Hi, where I can buy a new chassis for that model, thanks.
Search VRX Cobra parts on ebay..They even have alloy and carbon chassis
@@philthyco1 thanks I tried that.
@@esrpapo Right on yea they have a bunch of parts on ebay for this thing..Its also sold as the FTX zorro and the IMEX Samurai v2 ..so parts for both of those also fit..So vrx, ftx, imex and legendary all sell the same chassis and a few different variants as far as short course trucks, trophy trucks and also a truggy..Cheers
Where can I get parts for the nitro SCT ?
IMEX RC or FTX
