Thank you for taking the time to share these tips. I’m a beginner and feel stupid taking photos, I’m quite anxious too and you’ve really helped and I feel a lot less alone.😊
You’re welcome:) glad to help!
Thank you for sharing your experience and helpful tips for dealing with social anxiety as a photographer. I was just talking to my therapist about this today! I am excited to try these out at my next event.
☺️ I hope some of these tips have helped you over the last 3 months of shooting!
Suprised to see that many event photographers have social anxiety 😬 I definitely have it too, I usually use a longer lens (85mm or above) for candids at the beginning of the event to loosen up, but in an hour or two I usually warm up socially and feel more confident in shooting candids at 50mm or less 🤔
Right! I didn’t think I was alone:) That’s actually a great plan! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching🙏🏻
good job! on the way to my first event
I hope it went well!
See my problem is that I'm actually super great at being warm and friendly around people to the point that they think I'm an extrovert and it's easy for me to make friends. But on the inside I'm actually super stressed out, nervous, and sweating through my clothes lmao. Unfortunately this leads to me getting a stress headache (I have chronic migraines so I'm super prone to headaches from doing just about anything). Basically, I'm extremely good at "fake it till you make it" when I need to, but my physical health suffers later on. I've been trying various coping and calming techniques since I was a teenager and it just seems to get worse, even though my work constantly puts me in situations where I have to step outside my comfort zone. I guess I just need therapy/meds because I feel like I'll never be able to beat it on my own...
