Do you know the story McCartney tells of John going up in a helicopter with the Maharshi? Paul says: "The guy comes over and says, 'Only one of you can go with the Maharishi in the helicopter.' And John jumps up and says 'Me Sir! Me Sir!' (That's John!). After I asked John, 'Why were you so keen on going up with him?' And John said, 'I thought he might slip me the answer!' (Very John!)"

Not Indian, not a Hindu (or any particular religion), but my current bedtime reading is my old and battered copy of The Upanishads (the old Penguin Classics/Mascaro translation). I do love and resonate with it deeply.
50 years ago, at age 17, had one of those big revelatory experiences about the nature of reality, a subject I'd been meditating on (self-taught) pretty intensely for some months. Not being able to find anyone who could/would discuss the revelation with me and advise me, the thing that really helped me begin to make sense of it back then and at least know I wasn't alone in the world in 'knowing' this extraordinary thing, was discovering the Bhagavad Gita and realising that at least whoever wrote this book 'knew' it too.. of course I've found many more 'knowers' of various levels of truth since then, but Hinduism was my first guide, and the one I've always come back to after exploring many other religions and philosophies over the years. Namaste! :-)

John never claimed to be a saint. You're the ones who built him up just to tear him down. What he was was an artistic genius and a pretty good musician and singer. Apart from that he was just a human being. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Grow up!

Surprised the song “Sexy Sadie” was not covered since it reflected the spiritual disillusionment of John, Paul and Ringo with, shall we say, the “earthly” ambitions of the Maharishi during their historic visit.

Antonioni directing The Beatles in a Lord of the Rings film sounds surreal. If it was Zabriskie Point Antonioni then it would be cool, but L'Avventura Antonioni would be different, especially as The Beatles would probably want it weird.

5:00 in November of 1966 it was published in a British newspaper that Paul was in a fatal car accident. So the lookalike that the corrupt record industry provided is not the real Paul from this long time relationship. She was probably paid to pretend that everything was normal and eventually split

What Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught tthe Beatles was a scam. The goal of meditation is to focus on Lord Krishna 24-7. THis info is found in the original books of meditation. Maharishi is sexy sadie who made a fool of everyone. He is an impersonalist Mayavadi. He expanded his empire into Deepak CHopra and Sri SRi Ravi Shankar. Even so - called Maharishi admitted there was nothing spiritual about what he taught. My former wife and her entire family paid $5000 each to learn how to "fly" by bouncing on a mat. Complete scam. Sexy Sadie, what have you done? Kt wasnt until John and George met AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada that they encountered an authentic Indian guru that would enighten them and inspire many of their songs like MySweet Lord, Instant Karma, All THings Must Pass, Beware of Darkness, Awaiting On Us All. Hare Krishna etc...
