In the STRIVE bios, apparently Paracelsus’ (the key-axe) “heart is transforming” so it’s hinted he’s actually returning ABA’s ‘love’ now. But it also seems to be what’s causing him to go goopy. His VA did call him and ABA ‘lovebirds’ on Twitter too lol.
I just think Para finally gave into the Stockholm Syndrome 😂 How many years has it been since he’s been with ABA by Strive?

Who knows honestly, the trailer deliberately didn’t include Para’s voice lines so we can’t guess what he thinks yet.

When he mentioned monster hunter I think I remembered what he was trying to think of, the motion of the attack reminds me a lot of charge blade, especially SAED. That's probably what he was getting reminded of

ABA is my favourite GG character overall and I've been wanting her in Strive since I started playing this genre, the fact that she's in a game I find more accessible and enjoyable now is EXTREMELY hype for me specifically

When I started playing +r I fell in love with character design and play style and tried to main her and still trying. So glad she's in strive.

They Showed Jealous Rage running out at 4:51 in your video, it seems short enough that most characters would'nt want to try to punish I think its punishable with a bit of timing though but we'll have to wait and see
That super where paracelsus turns red does look like a switch axe or charge blade move especially when it does the three impacts at the end of the last swing

Unless they added something in +R specifically (which I did not play), A.B.A never had to manage a gauge for her transformation. It was just the blood packs.
The mode duration had a timer a only way was blood pack or insert key if opponent baited all packs and zone you you was fked
Here she in all points can go in mode and no health drain so jealousy replace 3 res I uses she had
The new meter is brain dead like for me I wouldn't even look at it as they tell you just supper as it legit fills it back up so just banga banga till low super and bamga banga also at wall spat go in normal mode and key grab boom all good op

I heard in the old guilty gear games if you use all a.b.a blood packs she dies right away or something. i doubt that will happen in strive since it a meter bar very strange crazy character lol .

Her super could be a God Eater reference. You can make your weapons get mouths like that.

13:05 i would say its less Monster Hunter-y and more God Eater-y. It looks like the Devour animation
Normal mode aba was never bad, shes kinda slow but she has insane buttons and low/high crush moves, also she is insanely tanky and has really good meterbuild
Brother stop lying, normal mode Aba is the worst character in the game.
Her mobility was awful, 90% of her normals were mediocre AT BEST, her specials were weak as hell, and even when they’re good she didn’t have the speed or the buttons to convert off of them.
Who cares if her EX Dash is incredible, going really far, really fast, just phasing through everything that might hit her??? All she gets off it is a 3-4 button Gatling that MAYBE leads into a knockdown SHE CAN’T EVEN FOLLOW UP AFTER!!
Without Moroha mode she would be functionally unplayable. Normal mode Aba is a means to an end, nothing more. You can’t win without Moroha mode.
So with all due respect, which is very little, shut up.

That was a joke that spread out into a rumor. There was an interview with Daisuke on rooflemonger's channel where he refuted it.

The closest thing from MH I could come up with is the Iceborne charge blade in the chainsaw mode specifically.
I'd say that Zappa is probably the weirdest GG character outside of some of the side/one-time characters like Leopaldon.
Noob question: Does the Jealous Rage thing count as a stance or an install? I know the video calls it a stance, but I feel it has elements of both as far as I understand the concepts (which isn't far at all) so I'm confused.
Its more of an install than a stance IMO. But the term could be interchangeable since it does change her normals and her move-list.
It's probably not actually a reference but Key is King definitely reminds me of charge blades savage axe mode in monster Hunter world

13:28 You might have been thinking of God Eater rather than Monster Hunter. Weapons in that series can retract and turn into those monster mouths.
If not God Eater then yea, either Switch Axe or Charge Blade from Monster Hunter but without the actual "monster mouth" element.

I've been sticking to Anji since mid-season 1, but she might finally be my new main. She's got a lot of the kinds of tools I like, namely evasive/armored moves that beat the opponent's offense.
ABA is one of my favourites. Seeing that she's back, I really hope they bring Zappa back

Dizzy was my first waifu but once ABA showed up i was completely smitten.
I'm not trying to sound rude saying this, but I don't really know any other way to put it, but you know how in this video there was a point during it when you were moving your head around to different places to try to stop blocking the view to other things on the screen? Why not consider the option of just getting rid of facecam entirely during something like this? I'm not saying get rid of facecam entirely forever or anything, but I really don't see a good reason why you need to be on the screen 24/7 during absolutely everything. Like, you can go away for a minute and then bring yourself right back afterwards and I promise that at least the vast majority of people aren't going to suddenly forget whose channel they were watching in the interim between facecams.
