Great video! I drove this exact stretch of Route 66 back in 2018 in my litle Mazda Miata convertible car and it was exhilarating!! You literally have the ENTIRE highway to yourself :-) My only drawback of the experience was......there's NO rest stops!! You really become one with nature at those moments (lol)
Hi, beautiful drive, drove here on US 66 also during my RV road-trip in the West last year, just that the road was closed from Ludlow to Amboy, very nice to see it through the lenses of your camera. As usual, a great video, thanks a lot, greetings from a road-tripper from Germany!
Enjoyed this ride. Thank you. I can imagine trying to drive this in an old car back in the day. Say like in the 1940’s. It would be both scary and exhilarating. Cheers.
When I was a kid, growing up in the UK, I had a real fascination with the idea of walking across the USA. Just pull up on the eastern seaboard and don't stop walking until I get to the western coast. As an adult however, I realise such a thing might've taken me a while ^^;
The deserts in California are quite unlike any other place on Earth. They're vast, largely desolate, but are dotted, on occasion, with these little towns that have a strange, otherworldly feel to them, as if you've reached the edge of the known world. There's a lonely, savage beauty to these deserts. Out there, not mankind, but nature, reigns supreme in all her cruel and unusual glory.

There is a major BNSF (ex Santa Fe) freight yard in Barstow, out of sight to our left at the start. Union Pacific, the other large western US railroad operates over BNSF from Dagget to Barstow and on to San Bernadino and Los Angeles over Cajon Pass. UP locomotives are Yellow and BNSF are orange. Looks like BNSF was having a bad day with trains blocking back from Barstow to Dagget. I drove this route from Barstow to Needles back in 1978, old route 66 pretty much ran close to railroad all the way from Hesperia (south of Barstow) to a little west of Albuquerque (New Mexico). Lots of trains moving fast through the desert but very few people, I maybe saw about 20 people all day.
I saw that parallel to this road (at least in the initial part of the video) there is another one and it is the latter that is used by all motorists and trucks, while Route 66 is completely deserted.
@@Joe-ng5ez The last time I was there was around 2012. We've only stayed there for about an hour to eat at the McDonald's and browse the souvenir shop that connects to it.

Yep! I drove this stretch of highway back in 2018 and I'm sooooo glad I had stopped to put gas and buy some cold water before I started the drive. Once you're on Route 66 in Barstow, you're on your own!
This Californian desert scenery is surreal.

Truly love your videos! They are so relaxing and beatifull! I would like to know what are you driving in these videos? Is it a RV of some sort?
I hired a Rogue when filming this video.

That would be Interstate 40, which you may recognize from the Pixar movie Cars
Good
The drives in Europe and Japan are so much fun to watch. You have to be careful selecting the routes in US or even Canada.
Thanks

Stabilizing the image can be done during postproduction and uploading in HDR will improve the quality.
