I'm looking to build in Brazos County Texas and wonder about full basements in that area as I've heard that much of Texas is clay soil and basements are a problem. Paul E. Penkala

Bottom line is that water infiltration cant be stopped.
It can only be controlled with systems like this, and then either pumped or drained away from the basement.

What are you talking about? Water infiltration can absolutely be stopped with proper waterproofing installations. We do it all of the time often 20’ below the water table. Having to use dewatering pumps pumping out 100s of gallons of water daily. Until the waterproofing can be installed.

@@genecarden780 So im sure that you also supply the property owner with an unconditional guarantee against water infiltration?
How do you seal against water infiltrating thru cracks in the basement floor?
Or where supports such as lolly columns penetrate thru the concrete floor?
Water will find a way in, or it will make a way in unless a drainage system is installed.

@@ernieforrest7218 we have multiple systems that are installed beneath the slab and wrap up the walls. They are laid on the ground and the slab poured on top of it. It will bond to the slab so cracking in the slab is irrelevant. We often seal around Pyles that are driven to bedrock. Again there are multiple systems. When I say we I do not mean we are special we are one of a few contractors that use these materials. It is actually very common. In the waterproofing industry.

Would be curious where the outside drain tile went to ? Did it drain to daylight or did it go to a sump also ?

    Pro tip:
Walking on dirt/gravel during dialog is not so great. Walk or talk. Not both.
