@@SegaStationBlackadder was a bbc show with no adverts, Dave is a commercial channel and they have to cut bits out in order to fit in the adverts. That would seem more likely

'Dave' showed Blackadders Christmas Carol a couple of years ago, and they cut out the part about 'nailing up the dog' - we are doomed.
