Back in the mid 70s my uncle married a brilliant woman, I was a small child but I remember it fairly well. They had the traditional dark fruit cake with sweet almond icing that they gave out to the guests. I was scolded and told not to eat it but I kept munching anyway, I though it was ok. I didn't know the history until now, Thanks for that!
