In this lesson, I want to teach you to play the intro to Purple Rain by Prince. I'm teaching it in 2 levels. Level 1 will be in the original key of Bb just like the album version. There are a couple of chords that are quite a stretch on the fingers. Of course, there are alternate chords that sound very close and are easier to play especially if you are a beginner. The 2nd level will be played in the key of A but will still have all the parts to make it work as well as the original key. I love playing the song and have played it both ways for many years in different bands. I hope you have a blast playing this song as it is truly one of the greatest songs of all time.
