  • Here is short film on removing the unnecessary vacuum system from my Gen 1 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa. This could be helpful for kit car owners. I already removed the PAIR (EGR) system. This is no longer a standard Hayabusa. It is now a Streetfighter. I still have lots of things to do on this bike and I am having some problems with the fuel system.
    I hope this helps.

Why lose the airbox? Most of it is under the tank & it at least allows the engine to pull cooler air. I understand stripping all the junk off but airbox makes no sense & those foam filters are terrible for killing airflow (and therefore power). You don't have carbs either - they're throttle bodies as you have fuel injection.

A great point. I have lifted the fuel tank half an inch to gain more flow from the tank to the frame. As this bike is now a street fighter with no faring “Ram air” will not be gaining me power (gain or loss) because as we all know ram air does not kick without font fairing. The Busa engine has been used in many kit car applications and cool air induction is not on their big to do list and they have no problem making good power with cone style filters and no air box. If I was building a high-speed salt flat bike then induction would very much be my concern. Thank you for the comment.

When you deleted the actuator, you did not mention the electrical plug. Shall I just remove it from the actuator and tie-wrap it?
