Thanks for putting the video together. I really enjoyed it. I especially like how you've explained what each word means and also how it relates to an English equivalent. However, there are a couple of things that are not correct:
1. Co is always used to describe a person in your parents generation and not an and unmarried women.
2. People in Saigon use 'mac' to describe expensive. As I understand 'dac' is used in the North.

"cô" could mean "miss"(as in calling a young woman) or "aunt".
Learn Languages thanks for your reply. Yes of course - your 100% right, but in reality in real life no one uses 'co' as miss, it's always Aunty. But still good to know it's technical meaning in any case.
@@stephenfernandes1243 People do use co as Miss. More common used among old generations. I do hear northern old women address younger girls "co" instead of "chau" or "con" when they are not close. I also hear Southern older people address their young female boss as "co". Example: Co chu?, and ba chu? are used to address a female boss. In this example, co does not meant aunt, ba does not meant grandma. But it's more Miss and Mrs.
As a Vietnamese person, this is accurate. This is the basics a tourist to Vietnam should know. That is the bare minimum. I am not fluent in Vietnamese anymore but was a lot better at age five. This is really good resource.

Cám O´n = 感恩 （Gan en in Mandarin, Gam Yan in Cantonese) = 감은 (Gam Eun) in Korean.

@Learn Languages You make a mistake here. Southern Vietnamese says "mắc". Đắt is Northern Vietnamese.
My girlfriend is from northern Vietnam and yet when she speaks she tells me that many words are also southern dialect. Which has totally confused me while I'm trying to learn. This guy has been the best at explaining and pronouncing for me to hear. Many videos speak way too fast! Haha

Me as indonesia, i do understand the structure and the accent/the tune word of vietnamese
lice and sister in vietnamese are very similar! they just have different intonation :) the ee sound in lice is higher than the ee sound is sister!
sister = ( ch - ee )
lice = (ch - EE )

In Vietnam we dont say: "đắt quá"
We say: "đắt vãi" or "đắt thế"
Chỉ có dân 2 nút hoặc dân còn ở ngoài Bắc mới nói “đắt vãi” mà thôi. Dân Saigon và Miền Nam sẽ nói là “mắc quá.”
Anh này đang dạy Tiếng Việt Miền Nam. Không ai trong đây nói “vãi” hay “thế” hay “đắt” hết. “Mắc quá” là đúng nhất.

you are so kind. I do have a question. is there a difference between "I don't know" and "I don't understand". Context 1. = (question) "Where is Jennie?" (answer) "I don't know." as opposed to Contest 2.(question) "Xin Chao" (answer from foreigner) "I Don't understand."

I was told that since I am an old man (over 70) that I can say chao em. You did not mention chao em. Have I been told the wrong information?
cháo em basically means “hello little sister” so you can use “cháo em” if you’re saying hi to a girl who’s younger then you

"Cảm" [feel, feeling, emotion, impression, state of sensation] là cảm nhận, cảm giác, cảm xúc, sự xúc động về tinh thần. "Ơn" [favour, grace, benefit, blessing] nghĩa là ân huệ, đặc ân, lợi ích, mối lợi, phúc lành, sự may mắn.
Cảm ơn = lời nói thể hiện thankfulness, gratitude.
Còn "cám" có nghĩa là mash (for pigs)
Chứ tuyệt đối ko phải là "cám ơn", cũng phải "cả mơn" hay "cá mơn" gì cả!

Như Tr Ch người ta bảo miền nam đọc như nhau vì ta ko đọc Tr được.. thế lại sai vì người miền nam ta đọc vẫn đc (vì ngay cả mình xưa vẫn đc dạy đọc đúng chữ Tr từ lớp 1).. nhưng họ chọn cách nói thoải mái thôi, kiểu thích thì nói ko thích thì thôi

Video dạy này không đủ chuẩn tiếng Việt. Phát âm sai, còn nhầm từ địa phương thành từ địa phương nữa chứ, từ "cảm ơn" mang thành tố Hán Việt "cảm" mà bạn lại sửa thành "cám". Như vậy sẽ khiền người nước ngoài khó học hơn, khó tiếp thu hơn. Bạn phát âm tiếng Anh tốt thế, giỏi tiếng Anh thế, vậy sao, tiếng Việt- tiếng mẹ đẻ của bạn mà bạn lại chẳng hiểu biết gì hết vậy!

Đọc trại ra thành như vậy thôi, ngta cũng chú thích southern dialect rồi với lại ai hiểu từ Hán Việt mới biết chữ "cảm", không phải ai sinh và lớn ở nước ngoài cũng học được Hán Việt. Còn bảo "cảm ơn" là cũng không hoàn toàn đúng. Chính xác thì đọc là "cảm ân" nhé. Đừng bắt bẻ tiếng vùng miền, văn nói kp văn viết
