If your farm doesn't work you might've build it on chunk borders, in that case you will have to replace the farm a couple blocks further.
Btw you can use mud instead of sand under the sugar cane, so you can place a hopper under it. The mud doesn't count as an 100% full block so the hopper can collect through it

Farm is not working anymore i guess i build it 3 times now every time the kelp didnt grow
the farm was working great when i first built it. after awhile the kelp stops growing up 1 block to be destroyed by the piston, it just falls off the sand when i start the farm. i checked your video for fixing the farm and that was not my issue. any other fix for the kelp issue? i don't think it's a chunk border issue because the farm was working for hours before this issue happened. would love to get the farm back up and running cause it works great if you let it run while you're working in the area nearby!
I have the same problem that the kelp just falls off the sand
Same for me. The way I fixed it was putting the sand underneath it back because the sand underneath it broke.

It was on a Chunkborder. I downloaded a pack in thatbI can see the borders and built it again
Make sure you don’t leave the farm on and walk away from it, turn it off before leaving the chunk and it won’t break

Is there a way I could expand it?
Mine was working great for a few days and is suddenly no longer working. It won’t dupe the kelp anymore it just destroys it after one piston punch.
yeah its dropping the sand and randomly placing it at a random location. maybe the new update was a patch of this farm?

Use a mud block as stated by another comment it doesn’t count as a whole block so items go straight to the hopper 🤝🏻

Yes but tbh i normally build it without any chunk border texurepack and 9/10 times I have no issues

The kelp isn’t being really fed into the composter so it’s just going into the hopper and being shot out by the dispenser is there a way to fix this?
Wait nvm I fixed it by putting another hopper where the kelp is so there no place for it to go other than inside a hopper and to the composter
Is there any way to expand this? Ie. to the size of 17 (16 blocks for water sources for sugarcane plus 1 hopper in the middle )?

what exactly makes the kelp grow??
I’m not an expert, but I believe it’s the shifting of the sand underneath the sand that the kelp is on. (No idea why that makes it grow though)
It's not applying the bone meal to sugar cane just spits it out and that all? Everything else is fine.
You probably used a dropper instead of a dispenser (droppers shoot out items, dispensers can use them on other blocks)
I build this farm, in beginning it was working but now it is not working , the kelp is not growing , anyone have solution for this ?
Yes you have to turn the farm off whenever you walk away or log off. Check pinned comment for easy fix.

i have the same issue, hoping they will post a fix for it because i can't seem to wrap my head around how redstone works haha. if you have another source of bone meal you can load the dispenser directly and the farm will still work, it just won't create bone meal from the kelp to feed to the sugarcane. at the very least, you can still use the farm that way.
break the sand and make sure no sand is below the piston and then replace the sand and kelp that should fix it

im getting only about 8 stacks per hour. On thumbnail is 7k+.. Is that real and if yes, why am I getting so much less? I have not a very fast computer (20-30fps ;( ) could that be the reason? Thx if anyone answers
You are right
It only gives 720 sugarcane per hour
I think its because of thr TPS (Ticks per second). If they are less, the game isnt running smoothly so the farm is not as effective as it could

My kelp gets destroyed after every 1 piston punch
Make sure to copy the redstone exactly, you probably made one small mistake. If not you probably made it on a chunk border and will have to move the farm a couple of blocks.
