I'm not sure how your channel popped up in my feed, but I'm glad it did. I've become so burned out with the travel videos by influencers and the like. Yes, they make pretty videos and can edit their asses off, but nothing ever changes. Your videos actually have some substance to them by telling a story or a well done tutorial. Your work stands out in the mass of copycats that infiltrate youtube.
Thanks Allen.... I am burned out of the travel videos as well. NO ONE CARES. You have a drone. NO ONE CARES. you bought a transition pack. NO ONE CARES. You have a subscription to dope music. WE ALL FELL ASLEEP. THE ANSWER IS STORY. STORY. STORY. STORY.
MAKE. ART. NOW. Bingo. I think many of them and have run out of ideas so they continue to use the same formula over and over. I’m pretty sure they use the same music as well. It all sounds the same to me. And if I see one more video from Dubai. Oh, and don’t forget doing a backflip off a cliff into the water. And I appreciate the fact that when you have someone shooting you in a video you’re actually doing something, not posing looking into the distance, pondering what transition you’ll be using next. I’m also seeing some others (who shall remain nameless, but people have dropped one of their names in your comments a lot) who rose to success quickly, but now have trouble coming up with fresh new ideas. There’s only so many ways you can show coffee being made in slow motion. Ok, I’m done ranting! Take care and I’ll be awaiting your next video.
Screw UA-cam algorithm! This has been uploaded 7 months ago and I just found out about this? Your channel is truly a fresh new look on all those cinematography/photography channels. I subbed from the first video I watched and now I’m binge watching the rest of em lmfao
Just wanted to say thank you for making this video. I don't think seeing or reading anything else would've helped me get over this voice in my head, other than this video.
So I'm going to leave this comment here for the future me just to proof, I was right, when I said "He is going to surpass Peter McKinnon soon" :D Good luck bro, I love your channel.
I think you're personality is coming across really well on the youtube man! Love the content and ...everything. I'm also really glad finally someone is touching on these subjects, it seems like everyone is keeping those for themselves and only talking about gear/technique/money or whatnot, so really props to you for doing that and I hope you will continue doing these after the success hits your channel (because it will) and the demand for gear/technique/money will oblige you to change your editorial direction. From what I see, all the suggestions you made are like energy pumping type of activities, which is fine but probably they are not a long term solution. Here's just another one you could try: Meditation. It's a bit hard at the beginning but if you want something long term, maybe give it a shot ;) Cheers!
Love this. Yes it was a big one I left out, but it was because I’m so new at it that I wanted to give some more insight when I have more experience. A follow up video next year. Thanks so much for your kind words, it’s rough starting out, despite it looking easy, it’s a ton of work and doubt that I have to push through in hopes that one day someone like yourself will respond to it in a way that tells me it’s all worth it. Not about the views, it’s about this interaction here. THANK YOU FOR THAT. XO J
I'm a retired electronics engineer about to turn seventy years old. Retired about five years now and been feeling stuck and apathetic. THIS ADVICE WAS EXACTLY WHAT I THINK I NEED RIGHT NOW. I have an idea about how to combine my passions for stories, filmmaking, electronics and STEM into a new web series but have felt stuck. I've thought about most of the main points in this video (see my comment on the same day as this one), but have not taken action on them. I think I'm missing numbers 3 and 4 ... especially 4. Thanks for a passionate creative channel.
@@RobertShaverOfAustin So glad you reached out! I feel the stuck feeling every day......mostly because I don't know where to begin sometimes. I will do a follow up to this video because it's so important.......I'm honored that someone with your life experiences has found value in this video-- --keep going, follow that passion, even though you feel stuck, just try to get one thing done with it per day, and then go easy on yourself......Its energy and time-consuming to create things and a lot of us are too hard on ourselves.
Since I watched your video I joined a writers' group on meetup. That's both #4 (get out of the house) and #6 (make obligations). So slightly unstuck. :)
The world needs more of you on the internet.... You have what it takes to be a leader and a role model that can change lives for the better. You sir, are awesome.
Hey Andy, thank you brother. That means the world to me. And yes......MAKE ART NOW is my own response to youtubers that like to film dead people, (wont name names).
I am SO GLAD I found this channel man. After being unemployed from a production company for a year, I have stopped trying filming creatively while feeling depressed and giving into the VOICE. You really inspire me with your positivity and honesty in your videos. This video has shown me what the antidote I need in my life. Keep spreading the love & life Josh
Josh. I JUST discovered your channel today, through your After Hours Mix at Epidemic Sound. I clicked on your UA-cam link and it was like the world revealed itself to me, one that I have been fighting myself to get to my entire creative life, but unable to because I've been buryin g my face in my hands out of fear.. A life of fits and starts, one step forward, two steps back, excuses, ideas, self doubt, procrastination and pissing away time and resources because that was my comfort zone. I'm only on my third video here, but i can already sense that they've' got the juice that's gonna help me to save me from me...it looks like everyone here is on the same page, so I'll amend that to say "gonna help us to save us from us" Your style and energy is infectious and inspiring, your technical skills are mad. I must sound like someone who just came from some motivational guru's weekend seminar, but it's more than this, much much more. I've let that voice take over and it's put me in a dark place that I will not describe, but we all know it. This comment may be the most positive thing I've had to say in what seems like a month of Sundays. I've gotta get my day started, i'm going to be isolated in one place for the next 8 days. I know what I'll be watching when I'm not working. I've been working through the night (I do that, and as a result narcolepsy is my middle name), and I took a nap after your watching your second video, but the messages I'd gotten in what I've seen so far, the video content & spirit ...I had one of those (increasingly rare as time goes on) problem solving dreams before waking up, where the dreams brought up issues in that abstract dream logic way that makes no sense in the waking world but you KNOW what it's about, you deal with them, you wake up and you've already got your jolt of energy. I am literally blown away. And your After Hours Mix is great too. I need to see about getting that. Just one of those times when "thank you" doesn't seem enough, so I'll thank you by doing something, your vids will be seen over and over in the long run if the view count seems criminally low....I'm plugging your channel on my facebook, urging others to get over here. they will be seen my many more, exponentially... Every success in the world to you, Josh, i want to see you get in return what you are freely giving of yourself to everyone. Big Ass Respect, Bill.
Man, I so needed to hear this message. I have been in a black hole of sorts with getting my creative juices and drive going. I am starting a new venture in my life working in real estate video and juggling kids, freelance work, and wife has been tough. I find inspiration in your content and love your channel. Thanks again for being you Josh and bless you.
You’re channel is one of my top 5 on UA-cam. You come across as genuine and honest, you encourage other artists, and you’re not over the top like some other people out here. Keep it up, man!
As someone who has been on the verge of starting up a youtube for some time now this has given me exactly what I need to help me get over those final mental hurdles to make it happen. Can't thank you enough for this.
You’re an absolute inspiration to me. You know when you are in bed way too late and decide to watch a vid before going to sleep? I watched cyberpunk 6k burstlapse. My feet started sweating, didn’t sleep that night. Thank you.
Josh you are doing so much good by spreading this message. Every day is a battle against that negative voice in my own head, and sometimes it gets the best of me. Knowing that others....others? EVERYONE goes through the same thing helps me feel less alone, gives me a boost. Seeing you go out and follow your dreams is inspirational! Keep it up!
Loving your content Josh! As a new Creator trying to find myself. With a family, full time job blah blah that voice is loud as hell. Needed this video more than you know. Thanks brother.
Only found your channel a week ago but really loving you and your content SOOOO MUCH - learnt heaps already! You are so genuine and real - love it... really Thanks for sharing!!! :)
I’m a chef trying to put together a beautiful channel and I must say that this is right now my favorite channel! I get tons of knowledge and inspiration from it!! Thank you!!!
I know, it's an overused word, but inspirational. It's like you channeled the dark side of my inaction, then showed a way out. So cool, you really got it goin man.
Dude, all your stuff resonates so well with me. I've been seeking some sort of mentor for some time. Been just going at it blindly self-teaching myself to provide video content for my marketing clients. THIS VIDEO IS SO AMAZING. The hardest part for me is switching from operational and analytics to creative brain. Sometimes it takes DAYS to finally switch and get a flow going. This episode was epic. Thanks for showing the difficult side of getting into a creative flow. Now I know I'm not alone. The tips are super helpful.
Once I learned what the “Imposter Syndrome” was it changed a lot for me. While I still deal with it daily, knowing what it is and knowing that it’s a real issue that most creatives deal with help make me feel better. Great video Josh
I needed this motivation. I was out in St. Pete FL filming street art today ironically cause I'm learning more about my new Sony. That learning curve can really eat at you especially investing so much money in some of this equipment hoping to no longer work in an office ( which really does drain you and make that voice worse). I've found your channel to be more helpful (especially that lowlight setting) than any other channel. Keep it going man. Your content is excellent.
You are a gem. Got me looking back to your first video here after watching your new built youtube studio then your trailer. Got me really curious with your work and creativity. Now I saw the dept and soul of the real artist in you and got me inspired again from a long time of hybernation. Keep it up...
Dude, I absolutely LOVE your videos. Incredible inspiration! You're the perfect convergence of comical relaxed demeanor, with beautiful shots and fantastic story telling. I have been through hell lately, literally, but I always get a pickup from your work. Keep rolling it out. I LOVE it!
Ha I just left my house because the inner voice was spiraling downward. I want your videos to spark that creative motivation and hit hard in a positive way this videos came up. Thank you brotha!
Its a challenge every day.......but one truth I have found. The more I create, the smaller it gets. I have a good follow up video in the works. stay creative, stay inspired, follow passion. Thanks for watching!
I love you Chanel. Your content is amazing and very inspiring. You come across as very genuine and authentic and that's refreshing. Thank you for sharing bro, this just made me get off my ass and do something creative. Just came back to comment and let you know I just finished a track (song) I started last week. Boom!
Man...I'm stlalkin' ya... Can't help it... can't get enough of your vids and your communication style. The real deal, really refreshing! You're an inspiration and now this vid... Awesome!
Sergio, that video was made for you. I'm so glad you found this channel, I plan to do a few more episodes about using art to battle depression and ADD. I battle wth that voice everyday and the more I create things the smaller and less significant it gets. Stay creative, stay into life and the things that bring you inspiration. Follow it. Go for it. Fail. Repeat. That's what this channel is for. Welcome.
MAKE. ART. NOW. How the hell are you so...perceptive? Turns out I am precisely hovering around those subjects too (depression, art, add...) Now I'm just getting started in filmmaking, but... Maybe... Maybe we can get in touch and come up with something interesting perhaps (from each side of the Atlantic...based in Italy right now)... Dunno. You rock and inspire me dude!
I wish I had found your videos sooner... They are killer! I'm always filled with self doubt. I'm not good at doing videos so I talk myself out of doing them. Seems like that's the only time the voice beats me. Thanks for posting this.
This is one of the best videos ever! I have a feeling you have just helped and inspired all kinds of people from all kinds of places. You certainly just made my day alot better!
I have a rule for myself, no matter the size or effort put in, create something everyday!!! More often than not the small projects I start inspire me and turn into bigger projects!! Thanks for this video Joshyeo!!! I suffer from this issue ok an hourly basis!!!
You are the most underrated youtuber to say the least, I have seen so many of your videos and you are in a different league than the famous youtubers in film making
I watch a lot of UA-cam! 99.5% of the time nothing inspires me. I probably de-motivates me if anything. This channel makes me want to actually get out there and DO! You gotta get an assistant and start pumping out 1 a week!
Recent subscriber here.... Your channel and videos are amazing and i admire your creativity and talent. And I must say this video touched my spirit in 2020,.... You sir are a Modern Renaissance Man......
Really needed this video right now. Found it randomly looking up videos on how to start a UA-cam channel where he was a ft. Thanks so much for the message
I love this so much.. was not what I was expecting to find when I looked in your video list. I'm so inspired.. follow my heart.. follow my art. I'm saving this one to watch again and again. Thank you.
I just got to this episode. I've been wanting to make an audio visual project and a documentary for over a year now and that voice in my head keeps telling me not to. That I'll fail or that the people I wanna work with don't wanna work with me. I needed to see this episode. I'm about to go paint something just to shut the voice up.
thanks for this. The inner voices are strong! Good tips. Workout. Get outside. EAT HEALTHY real food....not fast food. Tell people you're gonna do stuff (and do it).
Man thank you for putting out all kinds of awesome content. This one really spoke to me! I struggle so much each and every day with this. I’ve been watching your videos lately and now I want to start my journey towards filmmaking and photography. It really means a lot to see that the guy who’s work inspires me also struggles with the same stuff that I do. Thanks again, can’t wait to see what other content you put out.
Thank you for sharing this man. This video was meant for you to see. I still struggle with the voice, it's not as powerful as it was, but it's there. I guess that's natural, the path of least resistance. For an artist to put a body of work out there , to blindly chase the dream, to subject himself / herself to ridicule.....it goes against all instincts of self preservation. The body, the mind, the spirit all want safety. But, those who push past those limits will sharpen their blade. Keep going. It can be done. (On a side note.....If I sound very abstract, it's because I just got back from a nine day stretch in the desert, and my brain is fried!) Good luck my friend.
I definitely appreciate it the hell out of this video. That creative side of me has always struggled with self doubt and acceptance. I’m taking the plunge and moving to Bali here in a few months. Totally rebuilding myself and my life in a way that prioritizes my happiness and allows me to chase my dreams. I’m going to launch a channel just to get over the initial fear of putting myself out there. I really appreciate you not only putting out top notch content, but also being cool enough to drop a response to my comment. I’ll be watching your stuff and hopefully one day I’ll be able to videos half as well as you lol.
Wow.. you.. my man have alot of positive energy in all of your video’s and you are giving advice on such minor though essential aspects of filming. And you even manage to film and edit it like a pro, with your own style & humour in the video’s! I have seen alot of UA-cam Channels but yours is true and no BS. Very inspirational! Mayby in the future make some video’s about color grading essentials, learning color grading, making your own LUT’s or giving advice about which laptop you can edit on a budget.. I don’t know.. now it seems I an demanding it lol.. well keep up the awsome work/art Cheers David
Thanks for sharing this, I hope you know how much you are helping people like me. the inspiration to continue fighting for a dream. I am from Paraguay and I am struggling to achieve sometime (I hope it will be in 2019) to work on what I really love. And the more time passes, the voices become stronger and stronger, with these small but important tips I believe I will achieve it. thanks a lot. Greetings from Paraguay!
So true. I know the feeling. Just try to do one thing towards that goal everyday, it will help give you motivation to tackle the harder things that you really want to do. Good luck, reach out anytime.

Your channel popped up at just the right time, your enthusiasm and unique story telling has helped motivate me to keep creating. Thank you!
Awesome!!! Glad you found it tony!
Loving your channel. Thanks for the inspiration. I hear that voice way too often and it’s encouraging that people of your caliber hear it too. Thanks.
Boom!
Dude! Just found your channel and it has rocketed to the top of my favorites. 12K?! Not for long! You're going to kill it!
Ha! Thanks Kevin!!!
This is the definition of Make. Art. Now. Inspiring.
Thanks steve! Truth.
Yup. You nailed it actually. Deserves two comments. Yes yes yes.
So glad I found your channel!.. So glad I found YOU! 🙏💙
Thanks Kat!
I can't tell you how much I needed this video in my life. right. now.
I wish I had found your videos sooner... They are killer! I'm always filled with self doubt. I'm not good at doing videos so I talk myself out of doing them. Seems like that's the only time the voice beats me. Thanks for posting this.
Production quality is next level, can't wait to see what more you have coming!
Thanks Sam!
This is one of the best videos ever! I have a feeling you have just helped and inspired all kinds of people from all kinds of places. You certainly just made my day alot better!
Man I have been in a weird funk for a bit and this is just what I needed! thank you for everything you do!
Mad dance skills 😀 You should do a full episode on that! Great message especially the ones about music and making obligations. Keep crushing it dude
I have a rule for myself, no matter the size or effort put in, create something everyday!!! More often than not the small projects I start inspire me and turn into bigger projects!! Thanks for this video Joshyeo!!! I suffer from this issue ok an hourly basis!!!
"use the heart.." Thanks a lot. Great video. Love your work!
Not Sure What Exactly Lead Me Here But I Surely Needed This Right Now. Thank You!
Literally leaving the house now. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏
Dude your a scientist!! Vids are always inspiring and groundbreaking.
Right on, Josh. Just found your channel and love the content.
Awesome. Welcome Danny!
You are the most underrated youtuber to say the least, I have seen so many of your videos and you are in a different league than the famous youtubers in film making
Absolutely love how you addressed a common topic in a really entertaining and fresh way. So glad I found your channel! Can't wait to see its growth :)
Thank you! Stay tuned.
Brother, this is pure AWESOMENESS!!! Thank you for the inspiration! I'm gonna make it happen!
I watch this video once a month, every month. it has all the pick-me-up punch i need.
I watch a lot of UA-cam! 99.5% of the time nothing inspires me. I probably de-motivates me if anything. This channel makes me want to actually get out there and DO! You gotta get an assistant and start pumping out 1 a week!
Awesome dude!!! That's a huge win for both of us! Thank you.
You're gonna blow up soon Josh. Hey UA-cam! Creator on the RISE here!
Ha! Thanks hothash!
We are experiencing the genesis of one of the very big ones here on YT
DronkenDrenthen True :)
The algorithm is killin this channel I think. Should be having Pete McKinnon success. It’s better then his stuff!

I just watched it twice in a row! Keep doing what you're doing dude!
Gets me excited about my next adventure. Roll on man
will probably watch this more than once this year. thanks!
its a good one!
Thanks for this video. I was needing to hear this today. You are an inspiration for all of us!
Bro these videos are unreal.

Exercise helps a lot! and Miami...you captured it beautifully
thanks for this. The inner voices are strong! Good tips. Workout. Get outside. EAT HEALTHY real food....not fast food. Tell people you're gonna do stuff (and do it).
Greatly inspirational. Hope you’re doing well during social distancing. Please pump out some more videos for us.

This guy is going to be huge! Love all the content! and you know you're in a good place when there are zero dislikes on a video - keep it going, man!

thanks for this video! gave me a big push in the right direction.
Thanks James. Glad it helped!
I'm a director & have that annoying voice too. Great video🙌
Thank you for inspiring me and putting me back to where I wanted to be, videography. Continiously learning and improving..
(On a side note.....If I sound very abstract, it's because I just got back from a nine day stretch in the desert, and my brain is fried!)
Good luck my friend.
I don’t know.. now it seems I an demanding it lol.. well keep up the awsome work/art
Cheers David
Love this series Josh! Just got back from Miami, myself over Christmas. Loved the Wynwood area and gallery spaces they had down there.
Right!?? Miami is the best...I never been there before....Im headed back for sure.
this reached me at just the right time. Keep it up Josh. These vids are rad!
Thanks man!!!
