I have that Asmuse guitar and I’m still jamming on it. It’s a shredder! I reviewed it a while back and I’m still planning to release a single I recorded with it. Super light. And fun seeing what you did with it. Killer jam!!
I got the tobacco burst one back in November the body is way too heavy and the pickups are really weak compared to another Amazon guitar I got prior at half the price
Really nice guitar. The neck color was well matched and looks like it fits well in the pocket. Did I hear you say they can make custom nuts or saddles? Is IVY able to make a custom acoustic saddle and nut for an old Japanese early 70’s Madeira A-2 acoustic guitar? That guitar has a weirdly sized plastic nut and saddle. Someone I know is looking for a replacement and having a hard time. If you’d see the guitar’s unusual adjustable metal bridge, you’d understand why an off the shelf option won’t work well. The person wants something that’ll mostly fit right into the saddle and nut slots with little to no sanding just to adjust the action height at the most. Any ideas, if not IYV? Thanks for suggestions in advance!
Dude I love this channel because you do things like this! I have never played an IYV or a Leo Jaymz but you always make me want to! I just got a EVH Firefly 5150 so i love budget guitars. I have a killer Jackson Dinky that I play and your 80's vibe is so spot on with how I like to play. SHIT - I straight up bought the PLAYWELL unit off of Amazon after watching your review. Ok, I will stop acting like a stalker now and get back to work. But dude, keep this shit up!
Gorgeous Build! Awesome As Always Jamiliciousness too! I love the deep tones, but especially the brightness then the mellowness. As usual, you've spread happiness to many ears. Thanks Shredder! 🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸🎶🎸
I had the big IJZ-500? but returned it for the IPF-300 hollow body (prs style) guitar. The fret work on both were incredible, in fact, I didn't take either to a luthier for a set-up. The PRS style IPF has the smoothest fret ends I've ever felt. I did polish the frets with a 4 sided nail buffer. It's light, plays well and sounds good! Go IYV and go Bald Shredder!! Love watching your channel man!!
Just awesome. I love the melodic metal vibes you write. While I'm always hear for the shreds, I love tinkering with my own guitars so the inspiration to do something different is always great too. I saw an Ibanez RG body on marketplace for $35 bucks and now I have all sorts of ideas! 🤘
I think you should sand more off where your arm rests to make the relic job look more legit. Just a few spots is kinda weird lol. But hey, if you like it that's all that counts! BTW how's Buddy dawg?
Love everything about that guitar...except the "distressed" finished on the body. Loved the tone, and those red pickups are killer. The overall color shade is really nice. In the Jam, were you in D minor, or were you tuned down half a step and in C#?
Thank you for the video, Richard, and nice shredding, too. This is the first time I remember seeing all of the hashtags in one of your video titles. Was this intentional?
Got a butchered cheap strat body from a friend who wanted to convert it into a headless but he just abandoned the project, so now I have a weirdly shaped body and a 29.75" scale conversion neck from IYV on the way, along with a whole tele-strat hybrid build. Can't wait!
Very interesting observation and commentary on the neck, great jam and upgrade although I don't know about the relicing, I think I would have gone with decals or sticker bombing.
The guitar I play most often around the house is a partscaster I slapped together from my parts box. Warmoth neck so It plays great. 70's ESP body (Japanese Ash/Sen) and a 70's Maxon Super 70 pickup. Got that early EVH tone.
So if we email Mr. Do and say "I want the same neck you made for Richard James (aka The Bald Shredder on UA-cam)", he'll give you a nice discount next time you order because you sent him more business? 🙂 I almost ordered an IYV guitar I came across on Amazon today. It's a Les Paul style with a Floyd Rose for $195. But it's out of stock.
I just got my Jazz Bass from Aliexpress. Holy crap it was faster than I expected. 9 days to make and less to ship from china to us. unfortunately....truss rod is stripped. And the skunk stripe is painted on. Maybe I went to a bad store. Oof. Was so hyped after seeing all the cool guitars here.
i think i might have been mistaken about the truss rod. I wasn't used to having to struggle so much to find it and get it to turn. it does turn. still not perfect tho, but at least it's not GARBAGE
@@thebaldshredder Truss rod works actually. i think it's actually not that bad. some finish errors and the painted on skunk stripe is lame lol. Also the two pickups seems wired out of phase. I just gotta swap it I think.
Thank you so much. This has to be the most exciting guitar thing I've found, after searching through FindMyGuitar and losing all hope. I'm extremely picky, I've considered becoming a luthier just to make the guitars that I wanna play. Example: tell me where to find a 22 fret ESP eclipse style guitar in 25.5" scale with a contoured heel, black gloss, white binding, SS frets, single volume knob that's closer. Impossible. ESP potbelly in the same colour scheme? Impossible unless you somehow drop 5-10K on an ESP japan custom. Hardtail Jackson soloist with mother of pearl sharkfin inlays in 22 frets? Impossible. With production models, no chance of finding what I want. Every year disappointing in ibanez and ESP who are more focused on making 1 pickup guitars and satin finishes. With Warmoth and such there's always a dealbreaker, some rule or limitation, cant ship out certain materials internationally, no one has ESP style headstocks, astronomical prices. And let's not even talk about Kiesel who can't do a 22 fret Ares with a floyd rose for whatever the fuck reason - 0 chance of it happening with those dudes🤣 so what's the catch with these guys? Just to be clear, you aren't affiliated with them at all? Can they do any headstock except fender and gibson? Wonder how long that will last and when the prices will go up. It blew my mind that you're not required to have their logo... like, this is too good to be true lol The one thing that's unclear is the quality of wood, has it been dried properly or are they sourcing plywood. My gut tells me they're a cut above the aliexpress guys, but if the neck warps because the wood was defect then it's all for nothing. And someone said there is no recourse if something goes wrong, since Paypal is done through friends and gifts? How is the quality of their shipping packaging? If you ship it disassembled, does it look like they know what they're doing or is it just thrown in a box with some packing peanuts? Can you ask them to use a standard shipping service that might take 2-3 weeks instead? In a previous video you asked them to make you 16K pickups but they didn't get it right, so did you pay extra for something that got wasted? it seems like you just have to specify every little inch of the guitar, but even then they sometimes get parts wrong? I'm thinking it's better to treat these guys as a juiced up supplier for finished bodies and necks, with near complete freedom at a 3rd/4th of the price but just tell them to leave out the junk parts that's gonna be replaced anyway. Keep it simple, less room for error when dealing with long emails. I wonder if you throw in a bit of extra money will they give you a bit more priority, maybe could've gotten those parts and pickups the way you wanted. It'd still cost less than a finished warmoth body 😂 I'm gonna give them a shot, I wonder if they can do their logo in a different font. If they don't ship mother of pearl for internationals and stainless steel 6100 frets then that's a dealbreaker.
I have OCD and all my guitars have to match shape-wise... I have 7 Ibanez RGs and a JEM Jr... the IYV neck looks just like an RG/JEM headstock... 🤔 I agree, the neck makes the biggest difference in guitars, to me, as well. I love Ibanez necks, they're really flat and easy to play.
