Thanks for watching! I have more work to do with this model. The pictures you see in the video are not the final result. I will upload the 2nd part of the building Hasegawa Ki-84. Cya soon! Have a great weekend!
Brilliant! I never would have thought of covering the whole model in aluminum foil, then painting it, then using lighter fluid to dissolve the paint. Looks just like the photo! Thanks for sharing this technique. I will definitely try it in the future.
I use a brush painted undercoat of Mr metal color chrome silver the buffable version.Tooth pick can wear and chip paint back, not as good as foil but not a bad second best.
Hello Rahmi! All the effort of covering the model with foil has paid itself off.... The end result is indeed convincing! 👍 But wait... You said there's more! 🙂
Hi Radu thank you for your comment. Yes, I didn't want to paint, mask metallics and use unstable chipping agents on this scale. More is just about correction of decal errors and some weathering.
this is one.might technique with.some limitation. the surface must be plain enough. tried alu.foil on a mig15s wings. didnt work because of the blades on the upper side. but i kind of worked on the fusalage.
Also Future or Pledge floor polish work too. But I highly recommend find a cheap "Foil Adhesive" from any art store. Those are water based and exactly same with the expensive scale model versions.
Kind of the same effect on anything my brother paints....'what's prep'? Someday I'll put my limited skills into a nice plane kit. Likely it'll turn out fairly nice, then I'll drop it while putting it in the display case....happened before on a Vimy kit....

What happend a painting Ki-84 a airport a build?
I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a modeler use aluminum foil (HVAC tape or plain foil) successfully. Excellent job!

That's one gritty Hayate, Maestro.
Ingenuous and very carefully described. Thank you 👍🏻
Truly ingenuous. Someone isn't aware of the difficulty of what he's doing.
Bro you do some of the best work on UA-cam.
Amazing! Even an extremely simple kit when worked with these skills becomes a work of art!
Fascinating, I can’t wait to try this technique. Many thanks, waiting eagerly for Part 2. 😊
Excellent my friend... miss your videos 😊
Looks great! Very realistic paint work. Thanks for the videos.

Hi....thank you to share With us!!! Great job...Nilton, from Brazil! 👀👀👀👀👀👀
some excellent ideas there...
I'd love to see what you can do with Bare Metal Foil brand adhesive hobby foil. You did great with the Reynolds aluminum and ductile tinfoil.

It is getting from modelling to art!
What green are you using?
The recipe from Mr. Wauchop %50 to %50 mixtures of Gunze H60 & Tamiya XF-51
Great Job 🙂👍🔝Thank you very much !!!
Top klasse super von dir ✨️💯👍👍👍
Very impressive!!
Very cool, indeed !

What kind of adhesive is X-22? Where can it be purchased? I Can't find any info about it on line.
X22 is a Tamiya acrylic paint that is glossy and clear. It has no color pigment in it. You can buy it anywhere else you would buy Tamiya paint!
Also Future or Pledge floor polish work too. But I highly recommend find a cheap "Foil Adhesive" from any art store. Those are water based and exactly same with the expensive scale model versions.
It looks like you applied a flat varnish to the exposed metal?
For those of us trying this for the first time, what is X 22? A glue of some sort?
Tamiya Acrylic X-22 Clear Gloss acrylic paint
That Zippo fluid is super volatile, gotta remember the ventilation.
Grow a pair
Which alclad varnish do i use pls?
ALC 313
Sweet!

SUPER MODEL . ŻYCZĘ POWODZENIA
Zippo fluid...I so much miss COX Nitro Fuel that would strip all paint from a model without clouding the canopies or etching the plastic.
I didn't know zippo fluid (naptha) would remove acrylic paint. crazy
Actually not. I applied Alclad Matte Varnish before as chipping agent. Zippo fluid destroy it and the paint came off with that way.
