Was racking my brain trying to figure this out on my 2017 suburban. Bulb and fuse were good, but had the front left indicator faulty error. Thanks for saving me tons of time (and potentially money) with this video!
Thank you sir. Bought the whole light assembly didn’t work. Was working on it for the last three hours looking at UA-cam videos and came across yours and that fixed it. Thank you!
You sir are a genius! I had the exact same problem on my 2017 GMC Sierra. Not sure if it was the pins being “stuck” down, but it seemed one pin was more dull than the other. I wiped it down with some alcohol and scraped the haze off with a razor, and that did the trick. Thank you!
I been a messin with bulbs, fuses and modules for a week with no result. Your tip solved the problem immediately. Thank you, thank you, thank you very much!!
I just fixed the indicator bulb based on this video. Thanks a lot. I have more to say about my work. I have a 2015 Tahoe. This afternoon my son noticed the fast beep (or tick tick) sound, looked at the driver console, and said Dad your indicator is faulty. I was listening to this fast tick tick sound since yesterday and did not see the alert on the console. When I got a chance I went out and noticed that the front driver side indicator is not working. My vehicle oil change was due and the rear right side tire pressure was low. So I decided to go to the local repair shop (sorry not to reveal the name of the repair shop) and fix all three. The technician said to replace the bulb, the whole front grill has to be removed, the cost of the bulb is $100 and the repair cost is $150 (total $250). I said do the other two work and don't replace the bulb. I watched your video while sitting at the repair shop and decided to fix the indicator problem by myself. When I was back home, I opened the hood and pulled the bulb easily. The bulb was good, the tabs were coated with oxide and one of the tabs was pressed inside, and that caused poor contact. I cleaned the tabs with sandpaper and the tab was pulled outside using a long nose plier and put the bulb back. Now my indicator works fine. Thanks again.
Yup just worked for me too. Mainly just hit them with a steel brush and gave them a little push. Then slightly moved it around when securing it back in and it worked.
Did this repair and it worked for a week. I added a very small amount of dielectric grease to stop the contacts from corroding. As with many Tahoe's, that light gets a lot of condensation in it. Now the dang thing is out again. I ended up taking out the tray the airbox was sitting on also. Going to tear it down again. 🤬
It is definitely a problem, knock on wood I haven't had any trouble after doing it this one time but I know there are alit of people that has had this same issue so it's a manufacturing problem.
Repaired again. This time, I took more apart to be able to get to the assembly and also took a Dremel brush to the contacts in the housing that the two tabs on the bulb assembly touch. Working again. We'll see if it holds up?
@@ASCOTTY84 Definitely a crap connection. I don't know if it is corrosion of the two tabs touching or the two connections inside the headlight assembly that connect to the little plates that the two tabs touch. Just a bad design begging for this exact issue. That right lens assembly collects moisture because in my instance, it doesn't get much sun to force the moisture out. Either way, the moisture shouldn't be getting in there to begin with.
i tried this and it's still a failure. my bulb is good though. i don't know if its a loose connection because when i punch the headlight housing a little bit the bulb starts working
Sorry it didn't work for you, you may be able to take the other headlight bulb out and try it on the side that is not working right, the bulb may look good but could still possibly be bad I've had that happen before on different vehicles. Good luck!
@@ASCOTTY84 could it be that I got a cheap headlight replacement? I have a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban LT. I bought a $250 passenger headlight from eBay and that’s where the problem started. Should I switch the driver side turn signal bulb to the passenger to see if problem still happens, or is it the actual headlight housing itself that has poor connection to the bulb?
Yea I would try that swapping the bulbs. Try the one thats not working in the working side just to see what is going on. And vice versa good bulb into the bad side just to see. It very well could be a wire lose inside the light fixture itself. May even try to unplug all the main power plugs going into the headlight it could have got corroded in there somehow. Not sure but that's some things you could try first.
@@ASCOTTY84 I’ll try it I ordered a new headlight from Amazon for my driver side, since it got moisture and the led strip broke on it. When I take the bumper off I’m going to check and do the vice versa like you said. Thank you so much for replying. Your a lot of help I always rely on your channel for things.
Hello there could be a problem that needs to be fixed and the light will not stay off until its fixed. You may want to call them back and ask what the engine light was on for and they should be able to tell you amd recomend a fix for it thats reall the best advice i could give you. You can also take it by your local part store auto zone or oreillys amd they can scan it for you and tell you what the problem may be..hope this helps.
There could be an issue with the light housing itself if neither of those fixed it. May have to take the light out and inspect it to see if something is burnt up in all the connectors. Just a suggestion

I’m having the same problem on the same side. But unfortunately I already ordered new sockets before seeing this. I’m waiting on them to show up now
Hopefully it won't happen with the new ones but try this if it does. I did this one once and been fine ever since!

What if the bulb just stays on? Is it the same fix?
I would say no, if the bulb stays on you probably have a different problem with power being supplied all the time.
Was the bulb working when before fixing
