Your final thoughts at the end hit the nail on the head. ~ The people who always say "you're crazy" or "you're wasting your time & money" - Those are usually the people who have tried something, failed & given up. I never tell someone they CAN'T do something. Courage, daring and fearlessness are the result of a clear vision and an understanding of reality. ~ There is no greater reward than being able to sit back after all of this is done, take it all in & go, "Look, I did that." -

Came here to say exactly THAT!!
If I had the money, I too, would be doing this very thing, and doing it the same way - with integrity.
And that staircase rockwork is phenomenal!!!
What a joy just to look at!!
It always makes me happy to see there are still stone masters who can do this the RIGHT WAY!
My hat is off to everyone!

It makes for some pretty unique and fascinating content, just raising a new built wing of the house could never do... and it has to be JIMMY'S idea of where he wants to live in, nobody else's so if he wants to make it perfect for himself, who's got the right to say it's not right?

Places like this need people like you every 150/200 years to really fix things the right way and bring life back into them. And update them for modern times. If they are not enjoyable to live in then they get forgotten and end up going to waste.

You always talk about what you said at the end of the video, about not letting other people’s fears become your own. I’ve done my best to keep that in mind whenever I want to do something a little unorthodox and I get pushback from people I know, whether it be family or others. I listen to well thought advice but I try to ignore the “what ifs” and “don’t be crazy” comments and do what I want if I feel strongly about it. 🙌🏻

People only have their own experiences when they are judging. They can only see a situation through the filters within themselves.. So with that said, if YOUR dreams seem right for you then thats all that matters. This is what excites, invigorates, energizes and motivates Jimmy Diresta. And we are all richer for his sharing of his passions.

    Jimmy,
The fact that you take the time to repair history, is worth it!
That's much better than our instant gratification, tear down build new society.
What would be cool, however, would be to make it a passive house. Heated floors, more Rockwood, hardy board siding, the works. But keep it old looking. Keep up the great work!
