You're such a thoughtful guy that can share which lure or baits work well for surf perch fishing. That's why I follow most of videos.
I appreciate that!
Nothing beats a Battlestar 115 Jerkbait. I use them here in San Diego mostly for Halibut.
Thank you for always providing the best content and quick responses!! You're the best ET!
Much appreciated Jeff!

Love the drone footage in this one, Ed! Great work!
Thanks bro!
Thanks for the website! Best info grouped up, I love it.
You got it!
Great day on the surf Edward. Drone footage looked epic. It is an amazing thing when it’s just you and the beach. I’m glad the battle star saved the day for you. It looks like a great bait. Caught some beautiful perch!
They’re very solid baits. The scenery is epic. That’s the place the 10 commandments was filmed
Loved it Ed! The drone footage was beautiful. Those Slo-Mo release shots of the fish hitting the water and splashing around. Those were some toads man. Of course, I'm biased toward that bait so this video was just a lot of fun for me to watch! THANK YOU THANK YOU! I want to hit that steep beach with you soon :)
Another great video Edward. Another great teaching moment. Keep them coming.
Thank you kindly
Right on man great video!!
Have you ever tried to add weight to a calissa lure to get more distance? I am wondering if Drop Shot Weights Lead Skinny Sinkers would work attached to the front of the first treble. It could help with casting and allow the lure to dive deeper. Could you use a carolina rig with a 4 or 5 foot leader? I do have to tell you.....I grew up surf fishing, recently I have been upgrading my surf equipment. I totally use your recommendations.....so far you have been spot on. Thank you
Trial and error brother. Adding weight can throw off the action too much. The weight transfer system works fine as long as your rod reel and line are up to spec. No weight needed. A Carolina rig would be challenging to cast and not tangle.
Nice fish looked fun! Lucky you had that lure with you!😁🐡
You got that right!
The surf perch killa at it again!
I use LC 115 Surf Pointers for the steep beach application. I got a bunch at $12.99, a while ago.
Try the battlestar
I think this episode was a keeper episode , you caught some good size freezer fish ,.....
But I'm just greedy like that 🤷♂️
Thanks bro another great content of learning the 🌊's
Lol for real! When it’s time to keep, the bigguns know
Battlestar slaying the perch 🙌
Nice fish Edward!!!!!!
Thank you Edward, love your videos! I purchased the battle star 115 using your supplied discount code, cant wait to try it out, I know just the spot that has the stepper beach and deeper water. Thank you very much!
Wooohoooo! Just fished that lure again today and smashed em on it! Good luck with them!
@@Hook2Cook Edward, what type of either swivel or connector are you using to connect the jerk baits like the Battle Star to your leader? do you recommend using the round ring they supply on the lure or remove it and install what you are using?
@@davecook6834 use 50# tactical angler clips and remove the split ring. Clip directly to the lures eye. Here’s the clips. 50# amzn.to/3BNoxjV
Thank you Sir
Great video and info bro let’s go fishing soon!!! You ready for some sturgeon? It’s coming up real soon. I’m on my way down south right now to hopefully get some BFT fingers crossed 🤞
Yea Stelo! We’re overdue!!!
Good stuff bro 🔥🔥🔥
Great video as always brotha
Thanks Mike!!!
When I was a teenager I use to go to Alaska to visit my grandma. He would take me halibut fishing talk about fun watching 1/2 in pole will rollers bend in half almost 3-5 pound sinker 300pound test line 350+ depth and 21/2 hours almost to reel it up was no joke at 13 years old the fun part is if it was 80+ pound I got to shoot the fish with a shot 410gun. It wasn't easy though because the boats moving I almost hit the side of the boat the first time I did it after that I'm not going to lie I was a little scary for me because it's a long ways out and the water is freezing cold would not want to even touch it but if you don't shot it the fish can kill you or hurt you bad. My grandma took a hook out one time and forgot his gloves and got cut up perty bad all I remember is put a rope threw the mouth tied off and halling butt back he was bleeding perty good when the trackter took us out they noticed we were dragging 140+ pound halibut and then noticed my grandma hand a under stud we were in a rush and help us out a lot when we got back we had some fresh halibut on the beach 👍👌✌️🐟🦀🦐
Perch slayer
bro can you keep perch from april to august on the ocean cuz you can't on san francisco bay
1:08 💀
Do they works in the night time?
can't catch anything with my battlestar yet! 😢😢😢
Great video, tell us about your waders. Thanks.
they're bootfoot PVC waders with good ratings on amazon has a nice belt and comes with a strap to hang them upside down to dry when you're done rinsing them. the link is in the description.
How long is your leader from the braid to the Battlestar
Battlestar 💪
IV never try to use a lure IV always use grubs but after this I think I'm going to give it a try been there cought that down the street from McDonald's 👍👌✌️💯🐟🦀🦐
Let's GOOOOOO!!!😄
I'm bairly getting into surf fishing I wanted to know how you tie your jerk baits if you tie directly to the braid or do you use a leader and can you use a swivel to the split ring. I really enjoy your videos I'm learning a lot from your channel . I'm trying to step it up from a Carolina Rig and catch some Biggins .
From 30# braid to 30# floro leader joined w FG knot (8ft) down to a tactical angler clip (50#) no swivel or split ring on jerk bait. Clip on only. These are the clips amzn.to/3fxHak9
Thanks I appreciate it going to stock up and get some heavier floro I only have 15lb right now so I'm going to put the beach on hold can't wait to give it a try. Thanks I appreciate it.
@@Hook2Cook got my first striper ever on the lucky craft . I used the set up you told me and the power clips thanks Man. the only adjustment I made was I have like a 14 in leader cause I have small guides . so my fg knot was affected my casting. I really appreciate the tips. I posted a video of that trip check it out if you get a chance . Thanks again Man
We’re you using a leader or straight, do they still bite with straight braid?
I was using a leader. I’m sure they’ll hit straight braid but the big downfall is it’s easier to foul up because the braid is so limp and you have treble hooks. With leader material you can usually just shake it to unfoul
hey Hook2Cook i have a Phenix Cicada Casting rod 9ft 6inch 2-8oz with a Tatula Sv tw103 .. would this be a good rod for perchi/striper fishing?
I keep losing the grub tail what do you think I'm doing wrong what's eating the tail perch or crabs 🦀
must be small perch in the area you're fishing or try sliding your hook all the way to the back of the bait
What size are the stock hooks on the Battle Star and the Calissa lures?
#6 hooks
What’s your average or minimum walk distance when fishing?
2 miles is normal/ average
Started to use calissa recently but sometimes get frustrated because no bites for a while like half an hour and then switch back to calolina rig, how do you build the confidence in plug
Gotta dedicate time and leave the c rig at home!
sup edward, was curious on how the alon rod compares to the okuma hawaiian since theyre both trying to replace two rods, are they rated the same? which one throws the plugs better and which excels with a carolina rig?
just some talking points for the youtube shorts review
They’re rated similar. The okuma is mischievous softer better for Carolina. Alon better at lures
Whats the app you use to look at the tide? o:
Ocean watch on iphone
@@Hook2Cook Thank you!
