I wish there was a way to show the amount of soldiers that were here super imposed on an overview of the battlefield to show the amount of people crammed into this town. Would be an interesting photo. Great d ocumentary!

Lazy day watching UA-cam on 50 inch smart TV - great set of Civil War videos! Just reached to the 'kick the dog kennel' bit in a slightly later video. BTW, I'm from Liverpool, UK, watching from Cebu, Philippines, if anyone is still counting the distance away from Gettysburg. Enjoy!

I am from Louisiana and when we toured the battlefield a year ago our guide took us here to view where the Louisiana regiments fought. It was an amazing visit and very cool to see a part of the battlefield that many don’t know about.

from myerstown pa and our town center cemetery holds a 1st day hero (recended medal of honor) this battlefield gave me my love of history which brought me to be serving in berlin when wall came down.....i took pride in my hometown hero having been made famous for taking the regimental colors to the extreme flank to appear longer. .. and my own takeing my nations flag 110 miles behind cold war lines... would like to hear the story from the pros.....

The old adage " Get there the firstest with the mostest". Buford is, in my opinion, the hero of Gettysburg. He prepared the battlefield in the Union's favor on the first day of the engagement.

Wait? What? The town did an incredible job of preserving the buildings? Up to 3/4ths of the buildings there during the battle remain? From my research, most of the buildings have been purposely torn down by the town. Considering that not a single building in the town proper was destroyed during the battle...whered they go? Of those remaining, many, if not most, have been horribbly altered. Look at the German Reformed Church, and the Welty House.
What about the adourning house to the Welty House which was stupidly torn down to add a driveway to the school.
    Unreal!!!
Other than that, it was a great tour.

I watched the Ken Burns documentaries on the American civil war, which was very absorbing. What l found interesting is the proportional number of casualties, one in ten killed, matched the casualties in the English civil war, one in ten killed. between 1642 and 1649, adult male population died,: more than three times the proportion that died in WWI and five times the proportion than in WWII. A bloody and traumatic business, either side of the Atlantic.

With all due respect, I have watched Mr. Gary Edelman on a number of episodes. However, as a presenter, I would like to humbly suggest that he cut his coffee intake by at least half. He talks so fast and loud that I think he believes he is running out of time. Other presenters could take the same suggestion. This history is important but these gentlemen need to realize how they deliver their monologues.

The angle of attack, so to speak, on those shells protruding from the two houses are suspicious. Much to straight in. I would think they would of been showing a more lobbed trajectory...

The modern political undertones at the begining, remind me how it's possible for one group of people to get fed up with another group's narrative and wish to distance themselves from it.

This is wonderful, however . . . two or three of the six presenters talk way-y-y too much leaving little opportunity for the others to contribute. And everyone is babbling too fast leaving no time to absorb what's being said . . . Cheers!
