Just found this and absolutely love that your planner is not artistically perfect like so many I see on Instagram. It's real and that is just awesome! It's totally helped me accept that my planner will be a hot mess and it's perfectly okay. It's also given me some great ideas. I never thought about tipping/pasting in printables or an entire page, or sticking vinyl in a page. This is so freeing! and bonus, I get to use my Silhouette more. Thank you for sharing your "real" planner.
Love your videos and Instagram. Your planning style is so functional and inspiring. And you’re very relatable! I’m also into true crime shows and read a lot of mysteries. Thanks!
I loved this video and hearing your answers to the questions! Watching you flip through your pages is so soothing and inspiring at the same time. I love how you named tabs as your favourite accessory... I’ve had some since last year but never quite figured out how to use them, so you’ve given me some ideas!! 🤗
I will sometimes get a momentary itch to switch back to an A6 and then I remember exactly why B6 works so well for me. The size is like Goldilocks. 😂 I’d been trying to figure out how to incorporate homeschool into my Stalogy (I keep that in A6 rings), until I remembered in case the school or my daughter’s teachers need to see it, it’s a lot easier to remove those pages from the rings than have to photocopy the Stalogy. 🤓😊 Btw, this was so relaxing to watch and listen to. I did my nails while you talked, so thanks for keeping me company! 😄💅🏼
I had Hobonichis before my stalogy it is so nice to have so much real estate without writing .i think you are making a great choice. My motivation with notebooks is the Tomoe paper as well. I think I am going to feel as you so...finally the right size and systems! So happy to have found you!
Daksina I also was thinking about how it seems since I found someone who is okay with only having one book for all things, it has caused me to permit myself to try that mindset in my stalogy. Of course, I have only just begun to use stalogy on my 56th birthday actually, but I have felt that way for a long time and believe it is why I felt so flustered to try everything...the two constants from happy planners to travelers notebooks, hobonichis and Jibun Techo, was Tomoe and fountain pens...and so stalogy feels as close to that perfection you mention...I have tried the Hobonichi notebook, and it is my top choice but too few pages and the price is a deterrent. Stalogy will due for the present, but what is important is that one book won’t just be in July for me anymore. As soon as you said in your video that one was the way for your planning, it’s as if it opened my thoughts on new facets of my system that will indeed make my system work so much more succinctly. Btw we have four adult sons in their 30s whom I home schooled. I used a composition book to track each day what we needed to do and what we accomplished and it was almost like a family planner and reference as you explained. I held onto them but we had a flood just a few years back and I had to throw them all out...wishing now I had attempted to save them...anyway, feeling grateful for your videos and your sharing. As a matter of a fact, I had to stop working as I have a heart issue and worked at the local hospital so I have an immediate “use your stuff” rule, and you gave me courage to use my stuff in my Stalogy and get beyond my preconceived notions about a note book having just notes, and yes, I am finally using my tabs as well. I had it in my head that those things were for planners, and memory books...but in reality this notebook can be all I want it to be. Ok, I sound like a n old woman now, but I genuinely feel thankful to have found your videos as I embark on this new phase of my life not working. And, I really do get inspiration from your flip through and such and thought it would be good to say so. Happy days to you!
Anji Church Thank you so much for sharing all that with me. It makes me so happy to hear that you are trying new things. If having one book doesn’t work out for you, at least you tried! I hope you have fun playing with your planner during your time off.❤️
Loved that you answered questions while flipping 🙌😊 I love a bound book because of the flow for me, exactly like you said you can refer to an entire month easily. I tried to make the Cousin work twice and in the end a blank book is best for me. I’m moving into a Stalogy next year.
Loved watching this! Would love to see your desk setup! Like your craft space & how you organize everything that you like to use in your planner. Also, do you have any favorite planner subscription boxes?
Thanks for the idea! I will add it to my list of videos. I don't sub to any planner boxes at the moment but I did love the digital dashbox from Planner Press as well as the Happie Scrappie box when I was getting them.
I loved hearing your answer to the question of whether you ever feel the urge to change to a different planner. In my opinion, you have made your notebook work for you and you not it so I think that your system is perfect. I for one am glad that you do not cheat on your Stalogy...LOL. I just thought of something when I saw your printable monthly by Printable Kate. Now that I copied off of you and started gluing them in I do the year now on her monthly insert just in case I forget. Before I did not have that. Thank you for another great share of your masterpiece. #stalogyqueen
Hi Daksina. Thanks for the flip through and for answering all our questions. Just to let you know, and it might be a strange thing to say, but I like watching you write. Your pen test video was enjoyable, and I really enjoy it when you write things in your planner. There - I've said it lol! xx
I absolutely loved your flip through. I have been meaning to answer the tag questions as well but completely forget. I'm itching to move on from the A6 just to see how different the B6 is. I'll see how many pages I use during the rest of the month. So maybe I can be in it in June.
@@Daksina - I'm having wild phantasies about the Hobonichi Cousin. So I will definitely switch to the B6 in June just to see what happens in a bigger book. I'm rolling my eyes at myself. LOL.
Reilly Family I think they’re from Once more with love. I haven’t looked at her shop for a long time so I’m not sure which one is she still offers, sorry.
I struggle with blank page syndrome. Honestly its terrifying for me to use a note book the way you do! I want to, but I'm scared constantly! Which is so annoying to me! So, my tip is to start a digital journal. If you have an apple device I recommend good notes 5, the digital versions don't scare me at all, because I know i can change and erase and remove or add pages easily! Hope this helps! :)
I am trying out a personal size Filofax Malden rings. I have been in an A6 Stalogy since January and it is working out really well for me, but since I've been stuck inside I've been buying new planners and trying them out 🤦♀️ I definitely get the itch to switch lol. I will tell my husband about that "itch to switch", every time he sees me with a new planner he kind of throws his hands up and says there is no such thing as planner peace! Next time I am going to tell him there is!! Daksina has found it!! Lol
Love your style and your creative efforts really shines! Do you have a shop to sell your name vinyls? Do you take custom requests? I love your acetate and vellum foil tip ins. I watched your vids also on how to make them. What shops would you recommend for acetate/vellum foils? Thanks 😊
Thank you!! I'm not selling them at the moment, but I am thinking about it. I purchase from a few different shops which I link in my videos or tag on Instagram❤️
Can you tell me the brand of Acetate you specifically use that comes with the paper please? Also is it easy to print on Acetate, I’ve got a Canon Maxify Inkjet printer and have never tried it. Thanks Daksina x
I use several different brands as they all seem to come with that paper. They should all be linked in my amazon store (in the description box). Printing on acetate is really easy - it's just like printing on paper. You just have to put one sheet in at a time (on top of a pile of regular paper). If you find your printer smudges the ink, print as 'draft' instead and that will reduce the amount of ink that is used.
I truly enjoy your videos, I get inspired by watching to go outside of my creative box and do different things within my journal. I am curious to know if you have any input on the paper difference between Moleskin and Stalogy.
Margarita Geraci Thank you so much! I have never used a moleskin actually and am quite curious about the paper myself. Maybe I’ll buy one just to see!😄
I enjoyed this video Daksina. I love my B6 Stalogy. However I limit myself to certain number of pages so the whole year is in one book. Seeing yours makes me rethink what I am doing. Question; if you don't finish your second one of 2020, do you start a new year even though there are blank pages left in the second book, or do you stay in second book till pages are used? I see you don't use an index but use tabs instead to find certain things. Am I right about that? Self
toots four Hi! Yes, I prefer tabs as an index has never worked for me. I don’t like to number my pages😊 Last year I used 2 Stalogy notebooks and finished every single page in both books. I don’t think I will have any blank pages left this year either as I tend to take a lot of notes and things, but if there are blank pages, unless there is more than half a book left, I would probably start a new one. New year, fresh start. But that’s just my personal preference. Lots of people just stay in one notebook until it’s finished before they move on, or they start a new notebook for planning, but continue to fill in the previous one with notes, brain dumps, journalling, art, etc. I hope that helps!
