Eddie I think about you when things are tough in life, and then I get my fighting spirit back.
Thanks for all the inspiration Eddie.
@Joaquin Gonzalo Exactly, same here, mate 🙋♀️🥰
I clearly remember watching those Olympic Games. Being a Canadian, and the games were happening in Canada, we were so proud of him! ( part of the commonwealth). Lol
Eddie The eagle is a great man. Inspiring.
It really is a great feel good film, well worth watching! I have the utmost respect for someone who achieves their goals against such opposition physically and mentally. He didn't let anyone stop him from reaching his dreams and that is admirable to say the least.
Just watching the movie now. What an absolute gem of a man. Tenacity, determination, dedication, persistence, motivation - no matter how many knockbacks, no matter how much attempts to chip away his confidence, he just kept going with his pride and dignity intact. Wasn't the best ski jumper but still believed in himself - fought and fought to be in the winter Olympics, and he did it! Extremely inspirational. A great lesson about other kinds of winning.
Such a great guy, a very nice man who inspires others, as a brit i feel very proud we have people like him.
As a Canadian, we were cheering, too!
Eddie has giant kahunas. He never gave up and fought enormous odds to make it. Huge respect. Never ever give up.
Love the movie...and will be reading his book soon (on my Kindle). What I love is his sheer determination and that winning a gold medal was not the focus but the experience and journey. Thank you Eddie Edwards for so much inspiration!!!
You are a great man. I could not help crying. Turning my daily defeats into the greatest journey.
Brilliant movie & finally I understand how brilliant Eddie The Eagle's story actually is. I even had to hold back the tears.
What a lovely encouraging life story and I love that he studied law and then went back to plastering too!
You gotta LOVE the work ethic!
Eddie you are absolutely fantastic
We love you Eddie. Watched the movie with my 12 year-old last night and we both really enjoyed it.
And his story came to Brazil and made me Happy.
Everyone remembers Eddie, who remembers the Gold Winner? No one. Eddie is a special man, you can't help but love him. I just watched the movie and learned of his story.
I get the sentiment but there’s no need to disrespect the winner
@@Liam-ii6ki I asked a question. That's not disrespectful. Do you remember the gold winner?
@@yoya4766 I remember Nykanen, he was great...I found out about Edwards when I watched the movie
every winter sports fan remembers Nykannen...
This man deserves the respect of all us British. We need to encourage our government to start putting itself behind the training and competing of our athletes rather than all their hard work getting helped and provided by sponsors.
He's a king huge respect from Slovakia 👍✊🇸🇰
Being successful in life isn’t about winning, it’s about doing something you love, regardless of winning or losing! Eddie you’re a good man!! You may have come last on the hills in those Olympics, but you came first in our hearts!! 👍🏼
Amazing history an winner of the life
This guy jumped at the 15th Winter Olympiad in Calgary , he came last, it was on St.Valentines Day.....The day the whole world fell in love with him .
Very inspirational, great story
We love you.....greetings from Norway.
Here in Denmark most people Remember (and love) Eddie but almost no one Remember the guy who won, that is Saying Something !!
You trolling the Finns?
He looks great, what a story. goes to show you may be last in life but in our thoughts your number 1 :)
Fantastic movie, gotta admire Eddie’s determination
Warm, charming, inspirational person. We should strive to emulate, I think.
Amazing talent 🏆😀👍
Such a wonderful man, my hero, thanks Eddie
In former days around the 88s were in my childhood and I followed the winners like Nykaenen and Weißflog and was worried about Eddie and his motivation but now just around 30 years later, Eddie is the only person which can still inspire me today. If I struggle with the life or somethings which are tough with life, I think to Eddie and also my fighting spirit is back. Love the enthusiasm and the fight of him with himself and the jump hill. Thanks a lot for Eddie.
such a cute humble person. cant get enough of him
I was 8 when Eddie participated and tbh, I wish I had known his story when it happened. Such an inspiring man!
Legend
England's Finest. We love you Ed
As a Brit in Calgary, Eddie is the ultimate icon.
I’d love to meet him. He is NOT a joke character. He is a determined, focused and highly inspirational. I have a degenerative spinal disease and am in a bad way - people like Eddie are far more inspirational than really perhaps those that are more naturally gifted. He have it his absolute all, balls of steel and history has proven his legend status.
You got my respect when you made that jump
I remember watching you and I was cheering for you truth
Well done eddie
such a likable and inspiring guy
I love itttt I love otttt I just watched the movie inspired me so much!!!!!!
If u like eddie the eagle, and your not Canadian and never heard of Terry Fox, then UA-cam or google his story and you will be touched as much if not more. A true (Canadian and world) hero and inspiration for us all.
How do you come out of the ICU recovering from a skull fracture, then a ruptured kidney, then a whatever, and get back up to the start of another huge ski jump ? Incredible !
Awesome man,, I remember the real thing !
A man who deserves his fame and fortune 100%
Amazing 👏👏👏👏🙏
Makes me proud to be British! Winning is over rated - I know, I follow Norwich City!
Bet your a good cook though.

It's dedication and commitment that makes a person. Eddie is inspiring!
Let's be 'avin you.
One person knows they wouldn't have the minerals to sit on the bar at the top of the slope, let alone launch off the bottom of it. As a fellow Brit, that 90m jump made me prouder than any other sporting moment I've ever watched.
otterspocket2 yeah but he had trained for it and was already a good skier. He wouldn't have the terror of a regular person doing the 90m jump for the first time ever.
if he was a winner or even in the middle, he would not have become as popular as is now. Good tactic
He might have come last but you remember him can anybody remember the one who come first
It was Matti Nykänen, only the greatest ski jumper of all time
Interesting fact about the competition, Nykänen jumped 34m longer than Eddie The Eagle
This is one of the most likely guys you'll ever see
Eddie should be more famous than Evel Knievel.
I'd like to have seen Evel try ski jumping...…. actually he'd probably take that dare come to think of it.
Evel would do it, he was a hardcase!
The movie no longer in cinema - "Eddie" forgotten again.
I remember Calgary -88. The truth is a great story. I love both Taron and Hugh but I am disappointed that they did not just spice the true story up a little bit instead of changing almost everything and making a typical non believable Hollywood film of it.
And the last one then
Will later be first.
Sometime losers can come first!...........
Try do hard work
When you lose
When you give up
A ski forrest gump
He wasn't actually an eagle, but a humanoid instead. That explains why he didn't fly so far.
You ever been up a 90m hill? Damn only nutters jump off that!!! Truly frightening
..So after 1988 they brought in the so called 'eddie the eagle rule' to ensure that no more amateur try-hards could ever do the same thing..? What a blinkered knee-jerk reaction. Eddie rocks up and turns an elitist luvvie-fest into top entertainment for the crowds, outperforms himself at significant risk and all the committee want to do is shut him down. Calgary remembers this lad even now.
What a top bloke.
