@margaretmoore2407 I moved and, about five years ago, needed to find a new stylist I was 61 yr old then. I read many reviews, and wanted a woman close to my age. This search did take a while, but it was worth it all to have found a wonderful, talented, skilled stylist who is my age. Not only does she understand needs and trends for women our age, she also has forty-plus years experience. It was actually my mom, who told me, many years ago, to find a stylist my age and grow older with her. I really hope that you can find your version of my Leslie.
Wow really ? You may be the problem you’re too harsh on yourself! All of those examples you saw require heating styling tools, hair care products and balancing clothing tonalities. The HD can only do so much for your hair on that appointment day but if you don’t even attempt to practice to replicate what your HD did then it won’t happen hun. Invest in yourself and smile 😀
I had long hair for most of my life. Two years ago, I went drastic and got a short, short pixie---Best haircut of my life. Made my face look beautiful.
❤. It is very difficult to find a hairdresser, I came to Indy from Arizona. Had a fairly good hair dresser there, but rather ditzy and a friend. I cameto this salon from a close relative. Fabulous hairdresser. Have not looked better in my older life. Well I was paying an an average of 140. To 160.00. That was okay, as we know a hair dress is more important than your physician. So in that time I hah lost a IM almost 74, my ex husband passed away. And continues to drag me thru the dirt I’m trying to be as mannered as possible . I told her my income had been decreased by at least 60% I know at least . Sooo, first time I noticed she charge me $50 for two high lights in the front of my hair- trying to go gray. Second time really can’t remember under too much stress. This is long as I could stretch it out maybe 6 weeks.. Third time she was getting ready to blow dry my hair a goes - I’m boing to put on a little toner . Well that turned out to cost me $50 . On top of it it turn my hair pinkish. I found a mediocre hair dresser for $ 35 for a haircut(
Video not quite fair. The unflattering styles showed women with no makeup and not posing. The flattering hairstyles were on beautiful women with beautiful makeup .
I'm 80 & my hair is oily. Not as thick as when I was 20 or 30 but, It is still thick & always was course. Beauticians tell me I sure am not going to have thin hair. I still have mostly brown hair with some gray in the front. Am quite healthy for my age. Take 2 blood pressure pills daily, which keeps it in check. Am not limited in mobility & do not have any aches or pains. Worked in a factory for 4 years, until Nov 2022. Had to quit as I couldn't stand the diesel fumes for drivers waiting to get loades in the morning, I worked the 3rd shift.
I take biotin & colligen helps with hair & nails, no hair color & dont blow dry (unless special occasion) i use a lightweight cheesecloth or potato sack to wrap my wet hair & not a heavy wet towel on ly head also. 🤞
Very nice for all those models - who are slim, beautiful, with astounding cheek bones and clean jawlines. I will be impressed when somebody does a video showing haircuts for us fat ol' birds with jowels, who's cheek bones long since disappeared under the chub! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I can't afford a trim every several weeks at $50 to $60 a pop. I'm on Social Security! I've gotten so many bad hair cuts I'm afraid to get a haircut because a bad haircut takes so long to grow out. I have very fine thin straight hair that won't keep any shape. It goes limp no matter what I do. 😢
About the hairdresser....don't get me started, In 66 years I had the best hair cuts just Twice! Need to say more?! My daughter said always- I was the person who never complained about the bad or awful haircuts, and my answer was -the disaster will disappear in 2 weeks time when my hair grows.
Where are good hairdressers. Curly hair is hard to get a good cut. 77yrs old I think I have had a decent cuts twice in the last 10yrs from the same hairdresser. They don’t look at hair texture, face shape, same cut year after year. Once I said ok let’s go different , bad cut. Now going gray over last couple years, but doesn’t change anything. How come men seem to be better at cuts than the women? Maybe it’s time I change stylist, except what will I get next time.
Most women complain about thinning & dry hair. I have course hair & always had to have it thinned, as I've aged (80) my hair has thinned but not to the point that anyone would notice & it seems to be oiler than before. It was a chestnut brown & the more I was outside it has reddish highlights, now the front is silver & brown mixed with the back of my hair brown. I never had any gray hair until after I turned 50. I'm not upset with my hair, just can't figure out why it gets so greasy in a couple of days. Have started washing it with DAWN DISH SOAP, rinising it & giving it another rinse with white vinegar& then lastly with plain water. I'm just glad to have more hair than a lot of older people.
I'm 73 and for the past couple of years have noticed the same thing about my hair & scalp, getting very oily in two days of washing it. . . Which is odd since my skin is very dry not oily at all.
I find it impossible to find decent hairdressers.
Same

I worked for a man who was a world class stylist. un fortunately he died five years ago and I haven't had a good cut since.
I tell them to trim 1/4 an inch. They do but always go back and keep trimming 1/4/inch...end up too short!!
Don't cut hair too short. Pixies make you look older. Don't color your hair. Wear rich tone scarves close to your face. Lay off heavy makeup.
I had long hair for most of my life. Two years ago, I went drastic and got a short, short pixie---Best haircut of my life. Made my face look beautiful.
Great coverage in detail. Thank you!
I have a style that’s suit my fine hair and face, hate that short hair that women adopt, no style just short !
just wear what suits your face and personality. Age has nothing to do with it
Oh, you are sooo mistaken.
@@L.Fontein7I agree with her.

AGREE!!
bleaching and frequent haircoloring causes hair loss ladies!

if you tint - tint lighter ! less regrowth and less pigment in hair AND skin as we get older.
I take biotin & colligen helps with hair & nails, no hair color & dont blow dry (unless special occasion) i use a lightweight cheesecloth or potato sack to wrap my wet hair & not a heavy wet towel on ly head also. 🤞
Brilliant video!

Look at Jane Fonda's hair at the awards! It is all wigs and hair pieces & ponytails.
True.
Very interesting
Thanks
Either talk or play music. The music is annoying!
Better add hair or a wig, seriously. If you're balding in the crown, it'll still be bald if you get a pixie cut!

If you see a lady with a great hairdo. Ask where did she go..research different shops. Don't go to a beauty school. Bad!!!

@@kathyschwartz6009 That's true , the men are better at hair cuts, they are more technical
Your hair must grow fast.
I've always said, the difference between a good haircut and bad is….ten days and ten dollars. Ha! not ten dollars anymore though. 😂
Background caliope /merry go round music was extremely distracting!
Why should I take any notice of some random fashionista who thinks they are entitled to make judgements about my appearance? I do as I please.
Always with the layers....
For thinning hair… Rogaine

Gray hair makes you look like an old lady 90% of the time. Yes it works for some, but very few.
Disagree! Depends on the style. Plenty of women hanging on to their dark long locks is worse!
