Thank you Anonymous Chocobo very much for making this video and series! I have loved XCOM: EW and XCOM 2 since they each came out and i have decided to give Xenonauts a try. It will take some getting used to but I am loving the extra freedom of management!
This video has helped me understand the basic mechanics much quicker than trying to figure everything out via trial and error! I appreciate the time you put into making this video and i hope it helps many others!
P.S. - The only minor constructive criticism i would give you is to go a little bit deeper with some of the explanations of game mechanics. Ex. using right click to toggle between firing modes when moused over an enemy. Another example is when you show what buildings to build at the start maybe give a brief explanation as to why that is a beneficial choice and what constructing each facility will do.
Great video regardless, thanks again and keep up the good work my friend.

I was pretty intimidated and let this slide into my backlog, but was motivated when I saw the new one coming out. This was exactly the tutorial I needed dude, thanks 💯

Solid advice only thing i could recommend is you only need 5 hangers 1 for transport and 4 fighters

I tried this game for the first time today, after beating all the xcoms , and it was absolutely nothing like xcom - the soldiers are borderline useless.
at least in xcom you can throw a grenade to compensate for their bad aim but in xenonauts the first one I threw misfired, landed right in the middle of my soldiers and crippled the entire squad, total bullshit when literally everything has really low rng chances and fails 90% of the time

Not related, but what's the benefit of f.lux over the inbuilt nightlight?

suggestion: i got turned off due to the immediate inclusion of mods. imo mods are not a good idea for someone's first playthrough, theyre going to be looking for a vanilla experience, i for one have no interest in playing with mods before i've even played the game. i'm sure most people feel the same way.

The community mod fixes so many things that it’s often considered essential. The lore mod is just extra info. The vehicle mod is the only thing he added to make the game experience a little easier, but changes nothing about this video’s presentation of the experience. This was a great tutorial guide, but at least now we know who down-voted.

well normally i´d agree with you but not in this case. there is absolutely no reason to not activate the community mod as it is even included in the official release as a choosable "beta". the official version included lots of features and fixes from community mod as well. these modders have access to source code and are supported by the devs.
it is practically vanilla and every other mod builds on community mod as basis.
next time better educate yourself on the topic.

Just a two-year followup, Salty, to remind you that -- assuredly -- most people don't feel the same way. Remember the old saying, me boy: "to assume is to make an ass of both u & me"

I noticed when you are standing over a dead body, if you open up the backpack/inventory you can pick up weapons off the ground/bodys.
Is it worth picking up the alien weapons to use?

No because you suffer a lot of penalties to acuraccy and if you can't shoot shit even with normal weapons imagine aliens ones xD
